The check in system wasn't working and the person who knew how to go around that was not in the store. It took us about 30 min to get ahold of someone who could help us. There was also no padlock provided despite the Uhaul representative telling me there would be on the phone.

The truck was parked over a curb at the side of the building surrounded by trash and old AC components. The skirt on the truck dragged the curb when we drove off and further damaged the skirt. The cab of the truck was very dirty and dusty, with old water bottles and other trash left in the cab, the windows were not clean inside nor out. The check engine light was on when I started the truck. I went back inside and told the employee and she said it was OK and that was the only 26' truck they had. The check engine light stayed on the whole trip and the fuel consumption was terribly high (approx 6 mpg). We cleaned the cab before we loaded the vehicle and started our trip.

For Truck Reservation # 89879358, I originally requested a 10' UHaul vehicle. I was contacted by I believe Megan Hamm of UHaul and was told that UHaul did not have a 10' available and had a 15' truck available as an option. I was also told that I would be billed for the rental at the 10' truck rate, which is 19.95. My rental was a two day rental, where in my original request, I would rent and return the vehicle from the same location: I believe that is called in-town. Upon renting the vehicle and paying the initial deposit. I was charged 70.00 for the two day rental along with fee's for the in-town contract. Upon following the instructions that was provided to me, I was told to return the truck to a different location. I believe this changed my already in progress contract from in-town to one-way. Not sure why that occurred or why a different and further out location was selected without my approval. Upon return, my receipt indicates the miles, obviously and amount owed and paid. From the initial receipt of record: I was told I would pay the same rate for a 10' truck and not a 15 foot one. Yet my in-town receipts shows the rental price as $ 70.00 for the two day, which is even more than the rate of 29.95 for a 15 foot truck. ???? I need to be made whole here. My original check out should have been for 39.90 and yet the receipt indicates a 70.00 rental fee in lieu of what I was told. Not sure why the check out is "in-town" and the return is "one-way" when my ORIGINAL request is for pickup and drop off at the same location. Without an official UHaul receipt that aligns with what I was told. It appears that I was bamboozled here.

I dropped off my U-Haul and all they did was take the keys and didn't finalize everything while I was there, I had to call the next morning to make them finalize it so I wasn't charged more than I was supposed to be.

I requested an appliance dolly, when I got there, none were available. The other uhaul locations were closed. We took the truck anyway even though we really needed the appliance dolly, but would try to do what we needed without it. I drove back to my house, less than 5 miles away and found the truck had not ramp. There was no way we could load without a dolly or ramp. I immediately returned to exchange for another truck, I was gone for 15 minutes and was charged a full days rental because I drove off the lot. Do better uhaul - thats just wrong.

The fuel tank was half when I picked up, I fueled it to the same level after they charged me for $15 for fuel usage. I called and all the lady was doing it arguing with me.

The people were very helpful. The ladies at the front desk were amazing and even walked with me when I got lost to help me properly return my equipment. Then, the gentlemen who checked my equipment in were also very helpful especially Mr. Charles Hawkins.

There were serious issues with the pick up location. Wanted something in Mechanicsville. Was told nearest available was on Arthur Ashe Blvd, when I got there nobody was there and told to go to another site on Borad Street. When I got there, they did not have any trucks available. Was then sent to this site in Sandston. Drove over 25 miles to get this truck. Also, I originally set this for 2 days and somehow it turned into only 1 day and got pressure from drop off site to return the truck.

My contract listed a different truck than they provided. It was a round trip truck not a one way truck. The staff barely talked to me and since I pre checked in they just kinda threw a key at me. I'd have noticed the issue with the truck if I'd remembered to check the mileage but the truck was full of dog hair (I assume it was dog), and I got distracted by that.

First of all the online pick up and drop off experience was completely aggravating! I guess the location was ok it was more of they just didn't clean the truck…at all. The steering wheel was gross, i guarantee it had never been cleaned …ever. The floorboard i had to kick out what i can only assume was dog food and the stench was so vulgar i could barely drive it. I'm no means a mechanic but the truck drive horribly, you could tell it hadn't been maintained in a long time. I was seriously afraid it was going to break down at any moment. It'd been years since i drive a U-haul ..because of past experiences (all bad), let's just say with 100% certainty, if i need another moving truck it will not be from U-haul.

Cashier had to call someone on the cell phone. she out it on speaker & I have to complete my transaction over the phone. She asked my drop off location address I didn't have it. When I called the 800 number and told the person who made my reservations I was told everything would be in the system.so this lady decided to give me a location to drop off at which was 45 minutes away from my house. I spend over a hour on the phone trying to get the location changed to my original drop off location.

The check out/in is at the same counter, and by the same people as the gas station checkout. So, if there is a line of people buying drinks or gas, you have to wait. When I checked in, she wasn't able to go out and inspect the vehicle, but advised me to take pictures. It was fine, just kind of unprofessional. Like if something had damaged the vehicle after I dropped it off but before someone came out to inspect it, I know they would have come after me for the money. When a business tries to do too many things, it's hard to be good at those things.

The truck was new and in good condition, the cab was fairly clean, but the inside of the box had not been swept out by previous renter - I had to do myself. The key was not in the lock box, but instead on the counter in the store - needless to say, this added stress to an already stressful day!! I did need to use the restroom at Elco Market, which I know Uhaul has no control over, but it was down-right filthy!!

After returning the truck with a walk through, the rep failed to close my reservation which I found out the next day after a U-haul rep called me to reminded me of the possible late fees for not returning the truck. After numerous calls to the location, a rep advise that everything was taken care and that my reservation was close; however, once again the rep didn't apply the correct dates and caused extra charges to my credit card. After this, I was not able to reach them back and ended up contacting the 800 number to get assistance. After all, remind me why do I have to wait 3 days for someone to reach back to me and give me a refund for something done wrong from the beginning.

My only complaint about the location is that it's a little confusing where you go to actually pick up the rental. There are no uhaul signs inside. Also, the gas station attendant is also the uhaul guy so it took a while to get the trailer checked out because he also had to ring out gas station customers.

I was told I could only pay cash (100) deposit and when I returned it he would give me the money back. I returned it and received 60 back and the charges were not 40 so I expect UHaul to refund this difference this week. I waited forty minutes to secure this trailer as he had a lot of problems with UHaul.

Took 1 hour to get rental, although associate was very friendly he was working alone and uhaul systems were down. Very busy he had to keep taking store clients which made my wait one hour. Due to mileage a 3 hour rental turned into a $200 expense plus $40 gas bill -I was not happy

Nothing! Everything was great! Nice size truck, clean, and location was super close to where we were moving our stuff to! Also it was wonderful being able to setup everything online and only having to sign and verify license when we got to the store. Very convenient and the gentlemen that helped us was super friendly. We will definitely rent again soon, possibly this weekend!

its not the location its the uhaul system experience. We made an reservation through uhaul. it said we reserved a truck and trailer at one location, instead i get there and they send me to a location miles away to pick up a truck. so now im 25 dollars from having to take a uber. plus because of having to go back to the other uhaul to pick up a trailer, i went a mile over mileage when that uhaul was less than 4 miles away from the arriving destination. Both Money and time wasted due to this.

They had trouble checking us out. Then when I went to return the truck and trailer. The drop off location said the pick up location never put the trailer in the systems as it was with me. Not good. I could have kept the trailer and they would have never know where it was at. Until they sent cops out looking for a stolen trailer. Also when I got to the return location. They said I was post to have paper work in hand and I had open hands. Ummmmmmmm

I would.recommend having someone working there that can properly accept the equipment. I dropped the trailer, went inside and the lady stated she would.just write my name down and give it to the correct people when they arrived. No inspection. Didn't even look outside to ensure that I did drop off the trailer.
