For the second time in a row, the app was non-functional and I waited 30 min for the website to connect me with someone to actually be able to pick up my rental. The furniture pads that I ordered and was relying upon to keep my furniture safe in this move were not in the truck and customer support told me the location would handle it but the location said they were virtually only, and when pushed checked a shed and had no pads. This is on top of entering my one-way move 3 times into the website only to see that I was scheduled to drop off at the same location. I called customer service and tried to switch my drop off point, was told that was impossible but that I would not be charged the extra miles for having to return the truck to my former city instead of my new city. However, when I went to finalize my return, the website still had the extra charges I was assured weren't being assessed. I complained and disputed at that time, a week ago, and still have not heard back from customer service. I have now received an email and a text message demanding payment. When I tried to dispute again on the website as instructed, it would not let me submit the dispute without entering payment information. I am throughly dissatisfied with you services 2 consecutive times in a row and while I was happy to simply take my business elsewhere, I am now highly motivated to tell my experience to others. Especially since another customer was trying to pick up his rental and having the exact same issue I had previously where my reservation was confirmed but never made in your system. He'd been on the phone for 2 hours when I finally got myself checked out. I really do hope someone with the power to make systemic changes and culture shift actually reads these reviews. There are serious flaws with your technology and a distinct lack of help or responsiveness. Moves are extremely stressful and very expensive. Delays cost me money. Ruined furniture costs me money. It is unacceptable what myself and a fellow customer went through on the same day, and that I've been in his shoes before speaks volumes about the lack of care and concern the decision makers and leaders have with customer experience.David A.

I initially made my reservation for a different location and didn't receive notice until the night before that I'd have to travel 20 min. out of the way to the new location. When I called to try and change my reservation time, I was sent to voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. It has been more than 48 hours and still no response. I ended up changing my reservation online and thankfully it went through. When I picked up the truck, I chose the no-contact method and had trouble getting the key out of the lock box. The online instructions told me to go inside the location. When I knocked on the door (loudly), no one answered. I tried calling and was immediately sent to voicemail. After trying a few things, I was able to pry the lock open. Inside, the truck was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The next day, I called this location to see if I could extend the truck rental. Again, I was sent to voicemail and I did leave a message, asking them to call me back and let me know. Yet again, no one got back to me and I never heard back from them. I decided to play it safe and just return the truck on time and use my personal vehicle for multiple trips back and forth. I'm now in my new apartment and I still haven't heard back from this location. I would NEVER recommend this place or return. After all of this nonsense, I doubt U-Haul will be my first choice for truck rentals in the future.Morgan P.

U-Haul themselves nearly screwed up my entire experience. They changed my rental location and never notified me. If I hadn't checked it on a whim, I would have gone to the wrong place to get my trailer and never would have made it to where I was going in time. The new location was great and accommodating. Upon picking up the vehicle, the truck had a screw in the front tire causing it to lose air. The check engine light was on and the alignment of the vehicle was severely off causing the truck to shake violently upon reaching 68 MPH or more. When I went back in to the office to report the issues, I felt as though I was bothering them. I will give them credit as they called and had a repair service come to our house and replace the tire before our 450 mile trip. These issues should have been corrected prior to leasing the vehicle.Brandon S.

Make the gas charge known prior to signing upâ€¦.I thought I saw something like it would be a premium per gallon, but instead it looks like I paid quadruple that amount if you include the gas service fee. In my mind that is completely unacceptable. I would have filled my tank if I was more aware of what exactly I would pay. Phone told me to go to one car and I went through all the steps then the lockbox provided was a for a different van. That van said tire system needed to be assessed. Called and was on hold 40 mins. The rep sent me back to the other van. The van needed window washer fluid and the last person left tissues inside. Won't be using this location again.Janay G.
When I made my reservation I was supposed to pick up the truck in Cinnaminson then I get a call telling me I had to pick it up in Edgewater Park. Fine that's closer then I got a confirmation email telling me I had to go to Cherry Hill. Then I get there the guy wasn't there I no code to open the lockbox to get the key to the truck. I had to wait for him to arrive 20 mins later. Driving all the way from Cherry Hill to Willingboro added additional mileage that I had to pay for and Uhaul also changed my drop off location from Hillside to Newark without asking.Katrina W.

You make it too hard to do business with you your policies suck especially on a one-way car transport Reno you make me the customer do you haul job the local manager in the lower Bucks area that handles transport rentals said they didn't have any one-way rentals so I decided to scrap the idea of transporting a vehicle even though they did have transport trailers available they would not rent them one way and there was no compromise after deciding to cancel my trip someone called me on Wednesday, 4 June and said they had a one-way rental trailer if I wanted it but I had to travel 45 minutes from my location To pick it up I believe I'm doing U-Haulâ€˜s job at this point so I go to the location that they have designated they call it a local neighborhood U-Haul agent very hard to find the place no U-Haul sign it's off the beaten path Although the guy was a nice guy he's in the cleaning business buddy Ranch U-Haul equipment on the side took me at least an hour to find him your auto transport trailers are very unstable I painstakingly made every effort to ensure the stability of the trailer including not over Loading it and not exceeding the speed limit recommend it on the trailer when traveling if you had a dip in the road or when a large tractor and trailer would pass you even at 55 or below the trailer had a tendency to start to whip I've used other car trailers in the past and I have gone faster than 55 maintaining the speed limit on highways as indicated some places allow you to do 70 And well towing a vehicle I always keep it 5 miles an hour below the speed limit but with your auto transport doing 55 and below in the cases I just stayed it your transporter does not perform well I believe you should investigate and re-think or redo your auto transfer trailers for improved safe travel.Roy R.

U-Haul is an absolute disgrace of a business. I ordered a 26 foot truck a month in advance of my upcoming move only to find out the day before that I could not get the truck I ordered, they only had a 20 ft truck available about 55 miles away from where I needed to pickup the truck. Thank God for Avis Truck rental which saved our lives and had a 26 ft truck available nearby for our move. I will be filing complaints against U-Haul with the better business bureau. A company of this size should not be allowed to operate nor treat it's customers like this. Total disgrace, company needs to be disbanded or go through total overhaul from top down starting with new ownership.Christopher C.

Man what can I say about this place... I hate leaving bad reviews, and Uhaul used to be so good to me.. but this past experience has left it all tainted. I pull up the truck to drop it off, I see someone helping someone else in the back near me, they see me too as I walk inside. Inside, it's not a typical uhaul, looks like a person's office space. Total mess. Whatever, I just need to drop it off. I call for someone, no one answers. I don't want to walk around a person's private apartment/office, as that is what this place looks like, but I take a peek to see if someone is there. No one. Maybe they're in the bathroom. I wait a few minutes. No one. I go back outside. The guy helping the other people looks at me and ignores me. I stand there for a while waiting until he's done. When he's done with them, he comes to me. "What do you need?" This guy saw me walk into his office, he could have called out before and said he'd be right with me, totally ignored me. No one else working there as well, which he clearly knew. Just ignored me until he was done with the other customer, couldn't say "i'll be right with you.." Whatever. I didn't mind it too much, but I think my experience with the Uhaul in Syracuse Thompson Rd had left me bitter about Uhauls in general.. I gave him the keys, asked if I needed to do anything else like sign something.. he said no, took the keys, that's it. No receipt (got one in email a few days later), no "where are you coming from.." etc. Just a strange experience. He didn't need to make me wait, could have called out and taken my keys right there while helping load the other people's trailer onto their truck when he first saw me drive in with my truck.. but whatever.Shaigan I.

My reservation was for 9am, they open at 8am. Guy rolls in at 9:10, and I had been waiting since 8:50. He tells me â€œI work 7 days a week, I take my time on Saturdays.â€ Then tells me they don't have any dollies or furniture pads there, even though I confirmed the order for his location.
