Wayne R.The owner/manager of this establishment was very rude and said so many things that were unprofessional, uncallled for, rude, unnecessary etc!! I rented this cargo van with the intention of only having it a day or two and ended up needing it for over a week. I extended my rental by calling customer service several times as well as making sure the payment was taken out of my account. I was contacted by someone else in customer service a few days prior to returning and they were rude as well. He told me if I was moving and rented the truck on the 6th then I had plenty of time to complete my move and shouldn't have needed the rental any longer as well as demanded me to call the location I rented it from to inform them of when I planned to return the van. I assured him I had extended my rental through customer service but he said that wasn't good enough and I needed to call the location directly and inform them of my plans. I called customer service back to make sure my rental was extended and paid for, it was extended until July 17th. I returned the van on the 15th with more fuel than it had when I rented it. When I returned it I had friends meet me there to give me a ride home. They were waiting for me inside playing the arcade machines. When I handed the owner the key I asked him if he wanted to check the vehicle and he stayed he couldn't step outside due to his customers (my friends waiting for me). I told him they were with me and wouldn't mind if he stepped away for a few minutes. He made a rude comment along the lines of “people like you†and I thought he was joking and said yea, people like me who rent a van for a day or two and keep it for 2 years (exaggerating, still thinking he was joking). Well he wasn't joking and proceeded to tell me about how he knew about the other customer service agent who contacted me saying I was rude to him. I told him that guy was rude, not me, I just defended myself. He informed me the next time I tried to rent from U-Haul it wouldn't be a nice experience. I asked him what the problem was due to me paying for the rental as well as extending through customer service and actually was returning it early by 2 days. He said it was unacceptable basically and I shouldn't have needed that van as long as I did. I asked him how many vans uhaul had across many states and what was the big deal? He said see what happens next time you try to rent from U-Haul….I said next time I won't rent from U-Haul and would go to Penske, budget or somewhere else and be stayed that would be a good idea. I retrieved my belongings out of the truck and went in to see if there was paperwork. There was no paperwork but he showed me on his phone the amount of miles and total charges I owed which was $385 and some change, he then showed me what had been deducted from my bank which was $415 and some change. So I told him very clearly I didn't appreciate him giving me a hard time and how unprofessional he handled the situation and pointed out I had overpaid and U-Haul owed me money so him making a big deal about me extending my rental was totally uncalled for. My son and friends who picked us up witnessed all of this. I am in the middle of a divorce and we just closed on our home so my belongings had to be moved into storage. All of my family is in NC and I don't have any help here in FL so it was me moving my things into storage with no help. I had a few issues with my storage unit not being ready and ended up filling one storage space and needing another. All of this took more time than anticipated and I had a couple other issues and things come up as well. There were many reasons I had to extend my rental and having to deal with the customer service agent/manager and the owner of the rental location giving me a very hard time it was a horrible experience and added way more stress to an already stressful situation!! I will never use this location for a rental or to buy anything from his store nor would I ever recommend my friends , family or even strangers visit this location or rent a uhaul from there.

Also very grateful that they were able to rent to me for my last minute unexpected needs, it was pretty late in the day and on the weekend. I'm sure they get a lot of customers though, so probably wouldn't hurt to make a reservation if possible.
ALLISON S.The owner of this location does not know how to check people in when they arrive, it was an extra 20 minutes while he had to call for someone to help him. When I dropped the vehicle off, I had filled it up with gas to where I had it when I got it, and he charged me extra for gas. When I tried to explain to him that I filled it up to where I had it, he immediately started to raise his voice at me and yell at me. Uhaul should not be using this location for vehicles this man is extremely unprofessional and rude to customers.

What's the sense of doing online check in if it doesn't work. Once I got into the cargo van it was not clean and had many signs of use. The final and last straw was I seen and killed two roaches as well as seen other ones. Then since it was daytime when I picked up vehicle I wasn't aware until I returned the vehicle back at night that the driver side taillight didn't even work. I cleaned the vehicle myself very well before I returned it. When returning vehicle via the app the app glitched and closed and I wasn't completely able to return prompting me to have to call customer service. The agent Sandra Dunkley and Aviyona Hosea went well above and beyond doing their job! Applaud you ladies! After everything was said and done for my troubles I was refunded 16.05 back to my card. The original cost was 19.95 + taxes and 22 miles @ .69 cent.Granted I went alittle over on miles plus the website showed a dolly that had straps. The one I received didn't and when I told Sean he said that was all they had so I was charged 7.99 for that. I am angry at the person who decided that after everything that it was good to credit 16.05. I believe that due to the locations handling everything the way they did that U-haul has lost a customer.
Gary A.Truck was dirty, reeked of cigarette smoke. Left side mirror was cracked. Also, we were charged for cdw coverage and State Farm covers us when we rent vehicles. Lastly, agreement said truck was 7/8 full when actually only 3/4. Will never rent from them again.
Steve K.I ordered a UHaul truck to pick up some furniture quickly. I never received a confirmation email. The convenience store was locked when I arrived. I completed the online check in but received no instructions on how to get my keys. The convenience store clerk finally unlocked the door but couldn't help. I sat outside of the sketchy location for over 30 minutes trying to access my rental. I was on hold for over 20 minutes. Once I was finally talking to someone she was very nice but that doesn't make up for our wasted time and lack of ease. She couldn't tell me why I never got my confirmation with instructions. The truck smelled like weed. The floors were dirty with dust or sand. The truck had scratches and dings, the mirror was cracked and taped. Not well taken care of. The photos for me to approve at pick up were distant with no close ups, I couldn't tell if any of the damages were visible. Because the process took about an hour total instead of 20 minutes like it should have we missed the furniture so the rental was useless. We immediately returned it. Paid $32 for nothing.
Jonathan G.This location was very helpful. However, my original location (City Wide Self Storage, 661 40th St. S, Saint Petersburg, FL 33711), did not have my truck available when I arrived. I was sent to another location (ICEBURG AUTO CUSTOMS, 1800 28TH ST N., SAINT PETERSBURG, FL) which was closed when I arrived and would not open for almost an hour putting me well behind schedule. I then was transferred to this location which was able to help me. Needless to say, this was very inconvenient for me as well as costing me an additional 20 miles in charges due to no fault of my own. Very disappointed!

Michael H.I followed the instructions to check in online prior to pick up, but then I get to the location and I still have to go through a check in process that the store manager to assist with over the phone since she was not present. The credit card I used online to secure the truck was then declined at the store, so then I had to use my personal card to pay for the truck. If the card had declined when I booked the truck, I would have been able to get an authorization from our accounts payable department. But since I was in the store and was under a time frame, that was not possible.

I just kept the van. There were cockroaches crawling on me while I was driving which is a big safety hazard. This was handled very poorly.
