I rented a dolly and furniture pads along with a truck. I picked up the truck before the office was open and the dolly and pads were not in the truck. I called the office after it opened and they delivered the missing pads an dolly to my location. It would have been better had the equipment been in the truck but the home delivery was a great fix.Sarah N.

We recently moved from Winooski Vermont to West Virginia. We reserved our U-Haul at the Riverside Ave. VT location near our house weeks before our move. We were called the day before we were to pick up the truck that we had to go to Hardwick VT (about an hour from us one way) to pick up our 20' truck and car tow dolly. When I asked why it wasn't at our chosen location the woman on the phone told me that she didn't know and it "Wasn't her problem". I have never reserved a truck and equipment that wasn't at the location I picked. We then went down to the Riverside Ave, store to see if we could resolve the issue. The workers at the store were neither helpful nor sympathetic. They told us there was nothing they could do, that they didn't have the size truck we needed and that they only had a "store use" car tow dolly. Since the trip to Hardwick would be at least 2 hours round trip I called to make sure that that location had the truck and the tow dolly. The employee didn't even offer to call for us. When we called the Hardwick store they told us that they didn't have the car tow dolly there. The employee checked on the computer and insisted that yes they had theÂ truck and the tow dolly. We again called the Hardwick store and were told yet again there was no tow dolly on the lot. We went back to the Riverside Ave store and were not offered much help at all, they didn't even try to call and find us the truck and tow dolly, all they did was give us a card with an 800 number on it to call. The woman on the phone then told us to go to Morrisville VT (an hour away one way) to get the car tow dolly, when we called that location they didn't have a tow dolly either. We had to call the 800 number again and were then told we needed to go to Waterbury VT to get the truck in the size we needed (about 45 minutes away) and then we would have to drive all the way to Rutland VT to get the tow dolly. Rutland is 3 hours away one way. We were not compensated for gas or the loss of our time having to run all over the state of Vermont to get the correct equipment for our move. We started trying to find the truck and the tow dolly at 10 am and did not get home with both until almost 8 pm. We also had to put Â $76.00 in the gas tank before we even left for our move. As you can imagine this added a lot of unnecessary stress to our move. To make matters even worse when we arrived in West Virginia the truck had a leak in the attic part of the truck and ruined several boxes of pictures and our wedding album. At the U-haul storage facility where we were unloading our stuff to be stored we were given a unit that was leaking water and was all wet. I asked for and was given another unit that was dry but when I asked the employee if he wanted to see that the unit was leaking he said, "not really". This has been the worst experience I have ever had moving and if I had had a choice to choose another moving company I would have gladly done that, unfortunately for us U-haul was the only available moving truck company in Vermont that would do a one way move.Â Very disappointed.Kevin B.

Problem with the website, not the location. The website took my reservation request for a different closer location when my equipment was NOT AVAILABLE there, and then told me after my reservation was paid and confirmed. The website claimed I had agreed to this which I did NOT. I received a call from regional rep with the new location. I do not object to the change in location, but it was NOT CLEARLY INDICATED on the website. This was very disturbing. Other than that my experience was good.David B.
The customer service was excellent, the location was very small, and I was frustrated that we had to go there instead of a location 2 miles from my house. We got bounced around so many times it was exhaustingLivingstone L.
Tiny unkempt office. The attendant was desperately trying to assist a woman who claimed to have been quoted an unreasonably low price for a hitch (without any documentation). Another attendent was watching videos on his cellphone. The truck was fine but steering wheel was sticky to the touch (gross). I had a terrible experience moving (not UHual's fault but something personally) and was about an hour and 15 mins late on returning my 24 hour/400 mile rental. The location charged me for an extra day despite having a lot of trucks on site. For this reason I will discourage any of my friends from renting from this location or UHual again.Matthew B.

You could start with being transparent about the ACTUAL experience one is subjecting oneself to in order to use your equipment - you market & advertise yourselves as a user friendly, affordable and convenient company to utilize during a move - your representative make hard guarantees that your reservation details are going to be completely convenient to you, until just under 48 hours prior to said reservation date, when all hell breaks loose. I booked this reservation MONTHS ago, in early March, AND spoke to a representative on the phone who assured me that I could absolutely without a doubt pick up the equipment at the location nearest my house on the above mentioned date, and drop it off at the location nearest to my new home, over an hour away from my former home, the following day. Less than 48 hours before my reservation, I am told via phone by a representative that despite booking my reservation months prior, due to your company's own incompetence or inability to have the foresight to plan for the busy moving season, I now have to drive an hour in a DIFFERENT direction to pick up my truck, and drive it an hour back before I can even start loading - then your representative assured me that the truck would be available by 9 am at the latest, possibly earlier, where it then proceeded to be over an hour late. On top of all of this sorry excuse for a convenient moving experience, upon dropping it off the following day, you people have the audacity to charge a RETURN fee to the tune of nearly 50 dollars? For shame. I've never dealt with such incompetence and I will NEVER use your sorry excuse for a company again. Stop marketing yourselves as affordable and user friendly, you are are the exact opposite. Extortionists of the worst variety.Jerica M.

This was not only highly inconvenient, but the rental cost me more than double what I planned due to mileage. I am highly disappointe din my rental experience due to the unexpected costs. We had ordered the uhaul for Barre and the day before it sent us to Waterbury. That added on an extra hour of travel. Also was supposed to return it to Littleton Nh and that was no longer a uhaul place so we had to drive an extra 25 minutes to drop it off at the next closest place. My experiences with U-Haul over the past few months (3 rentals) have all been excellent. The equipment was in good order, clean and reliable. The personnel at pickup and drop off were friendly and prepared. Most of all the computer interface is superb. Talk about quick, easy and accurate. Love it! Go U-Haul!!!!Frederick S.
