I was very happy with the truck. Drove well. When I had to keep it a few extra days it was not a problem. When I returned the truck and left I received a call from them that there was an error in the bill and could I please return. I found out when traded for a larger truck the mileage was not entered and I would have been charged more for it. Thank you for catching the error. Sincerely Happy customer.Kathy K.

Eagle River body and paint was very understanding when I needed to extend my rental day to day from unforseen circumstances. Made my experience with them very good. I would recommend them to anyone. Even left an orange vest outside for me so I could go to the dump after their store closed.Christopher B.

Maybe keep your word on making the arrangements. I left messages with the drop off location concerning the mileages and they disreguarded anything I said and did not contact me to clarify. Multiple notes were made on the account and obviously ignored and charged me for anyway.DORIS F.

This location did fine. The help was professional. The condition of the truck was pathetic. It had a check engine light on it had a cracked windshield it really wasn't clean in the back of it and it leaked all over our stuff while it was raining during the move. The truck had 169,000 miles on it. I think it was time to retire that truck.JOE B.

The U-haul workers at this location were extremely helpful and professional. I was given good instructions on safely hooking up and using the equipment as well as a thorough inspection of the equipment. Most definitely would recommend this U-haul.Anthony D.

Remove studded winter tires. Law requires removal by April 15. I fine is $50 a tire. I was stopped by the local police department during my rental. No citation was issued at the time.Lise' S.

Tell the Anchorage office not to hassle customers about things related to operations. I dropped off the van a half hour early yesterday. Got a call from someone at the Anchorage uhaul asking me if I still had the van even though I dropped off the keys. Then was told I would be charged an extra day if I didn't get in touch with the Eagle River location about some crap having to do with the checkout process. The reason why it hadn't been checked out yet is because the Eagle River location wasn't open until 10. I got the call at 8:50. So when I did get a hold of the Eagle River location, they told me not to worry about it. Unneeded stress and a waste of my time when I did everything right. Tell whoever is in charge in Anchorage they should talk to employees first instead of bothering customers about stupid stuff that has nothing to do with them.Thomas S.

The facility was recently damaged by a fire to adjacent body shop. No Uhaul rep in uniform available to turn in keys. Was instructed to give to worker at location. He must be doing dual duty because my reservation closed successfully. That experience could have been avoided if the Uhaul app worked properly. It is convenient for customers in Eagle River and will be better overall once building is restored and the bugs in the app are addressed.Courtney W.

Nice guy, but the truck was not ready. May not be their fault but the truck had a crack across the entire width of the windshield (below vision line though); which may be illegal and does not inspire confidence. Steering was wonky. When going straight down the road the steering wheel is not level; tilts 30 Deg to the right making it less than ideal to hold and again, does not inspire confidence. Shifter was not smooth to operate. 98,000 plus miles and looked it. Overall it did not inspire confidence.Todd S.

Proprietor very professional, very helpful and assisted me with a fuse situation declining to charge me, to get my light working on trailer plug. I had left another U-Haul service I had made reservations with (old Seward Hwy) after they refused me service of rental when he couldn't identify fuse problem. Wasted time and very frustrating. I ordered a uhaul in Eagle River, AK to drive to FL and the day before I was supposed to pick up the trailer I got a call from Karen saying I needed to drive 3hrs north if I wanted that trailer because there were none at the Eagle River location. She then told me I would be compensated 200 dollars for the drive and rudely asked if I wanted it or not. So I said yes because I was retiring from the military and didn't really have a choice. When I arrived in Glenn Allen,AK I received a call saying the trailer was in Eagle River ready for pick up. I asked why I was told I had to drive 3 hrs north to get it then and was told â€œthere must have been some miss communicationâ€. So I drive 3 hrs back to Eagle River to get the trailer and to my surprise was not compensated 200 dollars as promised after missing a day of work and driving over 360 miles. When I called Karen she said it was because I chose to pick it up in Eagle River. She continuously tried to hang up on me and wouldn't let me speak to the manager. Eventually she said some type of report was filed and I never heard back from anyone.Joey H.

I'm grateful there's a U-Haul station in Eagle River. I'm grateful there was a truck available to rent on short notice. I don't appreciate that it was overpriced when I only needed it for 2 hours locally and I was charged over $100 when all was said and done when I had anticipating renting a truck for 2 hours for $29.95. Butâ€¦ The place is so pathetically sad looking. I didn't mind so much that the truck was not that clean, but when I was in the waiting room waiting for the service man to complete my order three mice ran through. I was caught off guard with the first one, creeped out by the second one, and completely horrified by the third one- considering I had only been in there for five minutes.Prairie D.

Please remember to look in the back of the equipment prior to renting. As a customer I should have done the same. There was a dolly and some moving pads I I not know I had! The equipment was dirty on the outside, but this time of year in the area, it is uunderstandable. Otherwise a polite and great customer service!Greg M.

I would encourage anybody who rents from this location to strongly consider another location. We reserved a 10' truck with a ramp. We picked up the truck and didn't know it didn't come with a ramp (because we weren't told this, and apparently 10 footers never have them), and couldn't see there was no ramp because the back of the truck was covered in snow. As soon as we found out there was no ramp, we returned it to instead rent a 15' truck. We were charged $55 for the following: less than 1 hour of time for the 12 mile round trip, 2 gallons of gas (for 12 miles?), and 12 miles of travel. No credit or refund was offered, and I was told that we had to be charged the full amount because they couldn't rent that truck to anybody else... while I had it for an hour, and while 2 or 3 other 10 footers where sitting unused in their lot - there was literally zero opportunity cost to this location. This was a really special level of customer service, capped off by the kid that worker there on Saturday speeding into the lot, fish-tailing on the snow and ice, and then ordering a pizza from Dominoes online while kind of paying attention to my wife and I, the only paying customers. The "Poor" rating is a reflection of the lousy customer service I received when communicating my concern about the $55 charge, the limitations on communication (we reserved the truck WEEKS ago, giving them ample time to tell us about the no-ramp issue with our truck), the truck being filthy on the outside and covered with snow, and the in-store attendant being preoccupied with his pizza order. At least their posted business license expired in 2011.Jason M.
When I arrived there was another customer parked out front to pick up a uhaul they had reserved at ten am as well. We waited until ten thirty until we were able to get into the building. The guy at the desk said he was in the back resetting the router because they were having internet problems. He didn't apologize or call the people with reservations. The building was just locked and all the lights were off. I wanted to upgrade to a larger truck and he allowed me to and asked if I wanted the appliance dolly still. I said yes. He had me sign the paperwork but did not update it for the vehicle I upgraded to so there was no way for me to tell what the mileage was on the vehicle I was using. He also did not give me instructions on return process or where to locate the dolly I reserved. Just handed me the key. At drop off they were closed so I wasn't able to request my refund of the dolly in person.Mikayla T.
I can't think of a thing, to improve the service. they were so great at the way they do business here in Eagle River AK.the U-Haul truck was clean and it ran really great. i will come back here any time i need a moving truck, or a large pull trailer to hall fire wood. The overall experience was adequate but the truck had a piece of a receipt stuck in the fold of the driver's seat and another piece of paper on the floor by the pedals (obviously not cleaned). In addition, the truck windshield was covered in snow and ice upon arrival, it seems like the truck should be in a drivable state upon pick up.Ryan B.

Pretty tough to hook up the 6x12 trailer yourself without a jack to raise it up. Didn't help that everything was frozen. Would be nice if they volunteered to help you from the start instead of having to go back in and ask. Otherwise everything was fine.Mike M.
I originally set up to pick my rental truck up at this location, when I arrived at my pick up time, there were no employees to be found and the office was shut down. This was well before this location should have been closed. After being on hold for 25 minutes with your main costumer service number I was then instructed to drive another 25 minutes farther away from my destination. The people I had lined out to help me move we're waiting around for an hour and a half while I sorted out this mess. No compensation was offered for this huge inconvenience. I understand that mistakes happen, but I feel that I should have been compensated for the lack of communication and time wasted.Zechariah A.
