I got the truck I needed and it was VERY clean and well maintained, but because this was an online rental and it was all don't through my phone it was miserable and took way too much time.Denny H.
The site is great and very clean. The u-haul app had several issue and represents a minimum viable product. The app is a mobile app with mostly web components and that is fine for cross platform and all. I had to go in and out of the check in process 5 times to get the app to upload the camera photo of my mileage and gas. Several rental services in the US alone have better checkin/checkout processes in app. Not with standing unlocking/starting/parking integration with the app the remainder has to be quick and clean. While I hopefully will not be moving again, even if I do I will not book with U-Haul ever again. This was the first time I was forced to utilize one of your self-service locations and it was an absolute nightmare. Your online booking is terrible, and defaulted me to a location thirty miles away, despite closer locations being listed as available. I was able to change to a closer location, but sadly that led to further frustration being the self-service. Despite preloading photos of my driver's license, I was prompted to do it again upon reaching the self-service location - which proved a pain since I had no data coverage there. I had to walk to the nearby highway each time I was prompted to upload anything. But that all pales in comparison to what happened nextâ€¦ I was informed that I needed further verification before the keys could be released. I did not appreciate having to waste nearly half an hour scrambling to figure out this process, not to mention waking my mother up so she could answer the phone to â€œverify meâ€. For the prices you charge your customers deserve an employee on site to help navigate the process to ensure an already stressful moving day isn't exacerbated.Jareth N.

I originally placed a reservation for a bigger u haul and to be able to drop it off at a different location. I was called by a representative and told that couldn't happen. Don't allow reservations to be held for one item but then take it back. I needed the bigger u haul and had to make extra trips because of it.Collin M.
You should let people know when they rent the vehicle that you will require pictures of interior, exterior, mileage and gas when the vehicle is returned.. I had returned the vehicle, locked it up then while doing the return realized I had to go back over, unlock it start it get the pictures you required. It was just a little annoying having to go back and do those things where if I'd of known I would of started the return before exiting and locking the vehicledavid C.

Have a customer service agent present. We had to do all the work and receive no discount for doing their. Your app did not work, when I called customer service they told me not to use the app to look up U-Haul on the web. Nothing work better than dealing with someone face to face!John K.
This review is not specifically for this location but for the U-Haul application for picking up and dropping off. This application is never guaranteed to work. It took over 20 minutes for pick up and drop off because it kept freezing and would have to re-do the same steps over and over again. Very frustrating process without a quick telephone number to call from the screens you are on to speed up the process or when the app does not want to load.Amber S.

Let the customer know they will basically be doing your job for 20 min before pulling away and again after dropping it off. We have to be the one checking over the truck and taking pics typing stuff into your phone. Meanwhile you gave all the info over the phone. Its time consuming. I was not told we would have to do all of that ourselves when I spoke to the person a week before renting it. We should get a discount for the time put into the do it your self pick up. Plus when I reserved the van I put in for a dolly and moving blankets. Neither items were in the van. I hope I wont be charged for it....?Christine H.

Get rid of the mobile pickup. It is more of a hassle than I would prefer to go through when renting a vehicle. It took me 30 minutes to navigate the mobile process where if I was working with a human I would have been in and out. Then when I tried to return the vehicle the location services would not pickup my location. I spent 25 minutes on the phone waiting to be helped by a customer service representative. The app does not work properly. I have used this service twice in the last couple of weeks. Both times it did not work. I know its snow weather, but the inside of the trucks are not cleaned out. It doesn't bother me at all but it looks bad as the last user. Also, the truck I rented had a huge crack in the windshield. Seems like a safety issue. Placing a mobile self service only station in an area of near-zero data connectivity really was not very. Took over an hour to take out a reserved truck and almost equally long to return it thanks to frequent disconnections while loading the webapp, resulting in having to start the whole process over multiple times. The pick up process was atrocious. First off, I was not told that the phone would need to be at the location in order to pick up the truck. (all information was under my father's name except phone #) Second, once I got there and we finally got everything caught up we had to verify identity with documents that nobody would have with them at the pick up (NOBODY CARRIES THEIR PASSPORT OR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THEM TO PICK U P A MOVING TRUCK??) - So we had to wait in the freezing cold rain for someone to call someone else to confirm we were there because it would not accept either of our phone numbers. I also had issues with online drop off, wouldn't upload my picture of the odometer, so I had to use a different phone and it still didnt work the first 3 times I tried to upload the picture. Mobile application is not allowing to change the mileage while taking truck and it set the tone for the final bill. Initial mileage in mobile application was way less than original in Truck and towards the end it calculated bigger bill than I utilized. The location was fine what wasn't fine was the self-access on both the pick up and drop expereince. Moving is stressful and using Uhaul made it even more so. When we got there and opened our account there was no option to pick up truck so we had to call the service number. We were on the hold for over an hour. Once we finally got someone it took a half hour to even get it up and working. We had people who were helping us move waiting at our house for that entire time. On top of that, we werent the only one with issues. There were multiple other people picking up a truck there and all of them were having issues with pick up. Then when we went to drop it off it asked for a photo of the dashboard. We kept taking photos and it would just loop us back to the same page. We were doing this within the app then finally tried doing it from a web browers and it finally worked. This was the most frustrating expereince I've had throughout the move. We will never use Uhaul again.Josef K.
I had very serious problems with the website, and no one was available to help me. If no one is there to answer the phone, please leave a recording letting me know what to expect, rather than letting the phone ring indefinitely. I say this location is average because I expect that most or all locations are the same during COVID, with little to no option for human contact. I will not be using any UHaul again until I hear that the website experience has improved. It was an awful, awful experience that took an hour and a half to check in and I'm telling everyone I know to stay away from UHaul until this is improved. I've had years of good experiences with UHaul, and this past weekend was a disaster. I don't blame the owners of this location. It's completely a website problem that I'm sure comes from UHaul overall. There were two other sets of customers with me in the parking lot who had the same problems and were also very frustrated and angry.Rebecca A.
your new ez pick up system has serious glitches. we were to pick up van at 5 pm and only through U-Haul phone assistance were we able to secure van 2 hours later. This caused much unecessary for my wife who was in tears thinking we would have to load up two vehicles' to take our son's stuff up to Kent State. The representative from uhaul customer service was most helpful and understood our stress. I told her and the manager of the uhaul location we used that this is not a user friendly system at all . there should be an instant connection from the kiosk to walk the customer wanting a vehicle where time is critical. at this point it's all about customer service as the sale has already been made. Dropping off was also a problem and I had to leave work and go in person to the said location and make sure everything is settled properly. The manager was very helpful and assured me that things will be taken care of. This system needs to be user friendly or you will lose customers. If we are to even consider using uhaul again we should be comp ensated for our trouble say with a one time free rental as we have to pick up our son from school when he is done. We'll see if uhaul really cares about customer service or not!Derek C.

The U-Haul app caused a LOT of frustration -- it failed to be able to fully process the pickup AND return of the truck, which required me to spend about 45 minutes on the phone confirming that all was okay to pick it up and that a return was fully processed. It may have also cost us more money because I was not able to run through all the steps in the app. (**It'd be nice to see some compensation for this trouble**). Having said all that: The Auto House did a GREAT job fulfilling everything requested/needed and I recommend this place to customers.Alex B.
