EDWARD D.The tire pressure icon was on, also its hard to check in and check out efficiently with the cell service at the location. It does take a little while so if you're in a hurry do not use mobile check in/out because it will cause frustration or don't even connect to the app.

I love the service provided by the owners , and that the van is very new only a few files driven . A little tip since I suffer from dust and pet allergies , the van had not been cleaned. Seems like a scam to get money out of people. I guess most don't look at their bill. Sad I had used them before but I won't in the future.

David V.Our originally scheduled pick up location, Ruckersville, VA, was a disaster. Availability of truck had been confirmed but there was no truck available when we got there. We had to go to a farther location to get a truck which messed up the schedule of our move. Suggestions for U-Haul rental policy: extra charges for a customer to keep a truck extra hours beyond return time stipulated in rental agreement. Financial penalties for keeping extra days. Add tracking functionality to trucks so that trucks kept by delinquent customers can be located and retrieved if necessary. Staffer at Ruckersville said that this kind of snafu “happens all the timeâ€. Not good.

Rodger D.On April 27, I called UHAUL and made reservation over the phone for a 20ft truck, one way from Charlottesville to Roanoke, picking up noon May 20 (USA Auto Sales, 1189 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA) and returning NLT noon May 22. Reservation # 98496933. At 3:41 pm May 19 (day before pickup) â€" I received a phone call, text and email from UHAUL saying that my reservation had been changed and I now had to pick up the truck at Kiki Tobacco Shop in Stuarts Draft VA, about 35 miles outside of Charlottesville. The email instructed me to call Kiki Tobacco Shop and confirm. I called the number provided and received an odd message indicating that the cell number was not in use. I immediately called UHAUL and voiced my concern â€" even asked if they were sure this was a valid location â€" and was told that it certainly was valid, they had a truck for me, and not to worry. She even provided me another number for Kiki Tobacco Shop. The UHAUL representative said she'd record my confirmation and she would even give me 100 extra miles since we'd have to drive further (from Stuarts Draft to the original origination point, Charlottesville). She assured me everything was set and not to worry. I arrived at the address for Kiki Tobacco Shop in Stuarts Draft right before noon on May 20 and found an abandoned building, the windows were boarded up and there were no people or UHAUL trucks. My heart sunk. I immediately called UHAUL customer service, told them what happened and after several minutes was told that another location (Draft Auto Repair), just a few miles down the road had a truck for me. When I arrived at Draft Auto Repair, the woman told me that she was sorry but she did not have a 20ft one-way rental for me and she immediately called her UHAUL contact. In the end, she provided me a larger truck (26ft) one-way rental at the same price as a 20ft, gave me an additional $30 off for the hassle, but only allowed me 112 miles. She also cancelled my original reservation and created a new one (contract # 10900007) I completed my move and successfully returned the truck to UHAUL Moving and Storage at Airport in Roanoke, VA. In the end I was charged an additional $22.57 because I went over the 112 allowed miles by 51.3 miles. First of all, the people I spoke to all around were very nice and helpful. While this worked out in the end, I am not pleased with the hassle I had to go through. UHAUL should never rent a truck from a place that no longer exists! Additionally, I don't think I should have paid for the extra miles. Per google maps, it's roughly 166 miles from Stuart Draft to Charlottesville and to Roanoke. I think I ‘lost' the additional 100 miles given me.
