When I returned the auto transport trailer to this location the person working told me he would check in the equipment within the next half hour and that I would receive an email notification that the return was complete. 22 hours later I called uhaul since I had still not received any notification so the uhaul representative called the Dolores uhaul business and told them to process the return immediately. Within 20 minutes I did finally receive the return confirmation which should have been done the previous day.

I booked a trailer. My wife got Covid. I canceled the booking so I could take care of her. Once she was better I rebooked the same trailer for the same trip. Only to be charged double the fee for the exact same trailer and distance. I am very disappointed with uhaul for doubling my cost. When I need equipment trucks, trailers I have always used uhaul. The staff was very friendly and helpful, in fact they even helped change out my ball hitch to the correct size. The problem was the trailer. It had old wheel hubs and the driver side wheel came off while traveling down the highway. Fortunately, no one was injured. The loose rolling wheel went into oncoming traffic and it could have been very bad for them or us. So, to answer your question, what can you do to improve: do not send out unsafe, old equipment. I would recommend the personnel at this location, but it is not a good place to rent if it is too remote to maintain equipment.

It came with less than 1/16 of a tank. I was anxious driving to buy gas. They must have hosed it out because we had water dripping out everywhere. We asked for help to dry it out and that wasn't our job but we did it and then we were returning gross wet packing blankets. On top of that, I had to drive back to get help when I pay for mileage.

I wanted to return the trailer on a Sunday, when the dealer was closed. I was told a return anytime Sunday was fine, as long as the trailer was in inventory when they opened Monday a.m. I returned the trailer Sunday, but was charged for that day. When I followed up with the dealer he said there was an 'app' that I should have used to record the time returned. I was not aware of the app. He said it was sent to my phone, which I see I did receive, but I received 9 total msgs -both text and email- from UHaul & quit reading them because they all seemed to have the same information. Very poor communication on the part of the dealer in addition to just plain being wrong about when I could return the trailer without being charged an additional day.

Instructions were unclear, reserved equipment was not provided, customer service was unhelpful. I will be requesting a full refund for this visit, and not booking with this company again. Uhaul doesn't value or respect their customers.

Horrible Experience!! I had to drive 2 hours to pick up my truck and auto transport! Uhaul systems down, waited another hour and a half to finalize and be able to leave. An entire day waisted!!! Had to rent a trailer to finalize my move!!!! Had to pick that up in a Delores CO and was told I had an extra day because of shortages, I was charged an additional $32.40. Penske is where I am going next move

First contract was for wrong truck. Agent was rude. Redid contract and added extra insurance to it. Found out thru “Raven” ( customer service agent for Colorado ) who was also very rude that this was non refundable and no exceptions. I told her why should I pay for the agent not doing his job right. Had to return the truck 9 days early and get a refund to avoid overcharge on total rental. The found hand charged me for one day insurance and then cancelled the rest of the charge. But “No “ was Raven’s solution. So needless to say it’s cost me money and time and now I have to still rent a truck. With non other option available I am stuck renting from Uhaul

Truck had bald rear tires. This vehicle was not suited for renting out in Colorado during the winter and the trailer (auto transport) had a flat tire. We only moved the trailer two blocks from the rental pick up location to load the car and saw the flat tire. When we returned to the rental location, the business owner would do nothing about the tire and told us to call roadside assistance. He was extremely rude, would not help at all, not even to notify Uhaul. That business owner also took our full $700 payment in cash, he charged our debit card the same amount, overdrawing our account. He refused to return either payment and just laughed at us. My wife finally convinced Uhaul to contact this horrible person and they told him to return our cash. We will never consider using Uhaul for any service, ever again!

The only drawback is that Dolores is a small place, so they may not have equipment available when you want it. So try to reserve well ahead of time.

Our rental was not clean, and needed a oil change, they said the next guy would do it. I lost at least 150.00 dollars in gas from the vehicle working extra hard with bad oil. I only got 8.7 miles to the gallon and the computer in the truck was glicthing, also the truck had no power and struggled the entire drive just to maintain minimum speed. This is the worst u-haul truck I have ever drove as I usually rent from uhaul.

Please don’t auto-resolve the pickup city location based on the truck requested. For instance, I requested a reservation from Phoenix on June 3 for a pickup truck in Cortez. The uHaul website discretely moved my reservation request to Farmington to provide the truck I requested. There was no alert that my requested truck was not in Cortez so I booked the reservation. Obviously there was an oversight on my part that I did not notice the pickup location was changed by the website. Long story short is I fly to Cortez on 6/5 and did not realize my reservation was 75 miles away. Fortunately the Dolores location had a 10’ van that we picked up on 6/6 and we continued our journey. The van worked almost as well as the truck. It was new and only 7500 miles on the odometer. Overall uHaul saved our trip as the Hertz location at the Cortez airport was closed due to the virus.
