The truck was very dirty (like food wrapper on the seat dirty). Steering on the truck was non existent and driving it on the highway felt like driving a death trap. The pickup at Dollar Mart was just as bad. The attendant kept undoing his mask (covid) and at some point, he just took it off. I checked in online in advance but he redid the check-in from the beginning which took about 20 minutes. Only if there was an alternative to U-Haul, I would never use your services again. It's the worst experience everytime and the trucks you rent are scary and dangerous (you should consider maintaining them, especially the power steering. This is not the first time I've experienced this)

They didn't have all the 'extras' I had ordered and I needed to drive elsewhere... it would have been much quicker and easier to have picked the vehicle up from the second location.

Rental was scheduled for 5:30pm weekday with insurance Mobile Check system has some kinks to work out; np the keys were not in the vehicle unlike mention in the check in; Meh no big deal Went into the store and had to go through check in again; a little annoyed and now running late Take pictures of odometer gas; np Take my own pictures since i found large dent on passenger door and the wrappers/bottles/tissues/wood shavings that were left behind Leaving lot 5:50-5:55pm; annoyed Drop vehicle off, hand over keys to attendant and apologize for not fueling up truck; Next day, Uhaul charges my card almost $200 for dent damage passenger door, I speak with Vipeshan Shanthasivam, Area Field Manager to explain the time listed on the accident report reads 5pm which means it could not have been me, tells me its wrong it will be adjusted and sent back to me, then tells me that the vehicle was inspected beforehand and no dent was previously reported and camera footage shows no previous accidents in the lot by other vehicles. I decide to inform them that it is an interesting accusation considering that there is no footage and no inspection that indicates of anything happening to the vehicle but yet I was in the lot taking pictures of the vehicle with my phone while on company security camera but no one seemed to have noticed or cared to mention that when filing the initial report. Then after submitting the photos with the time and day caption, Mr. Shanthasivam said he would need until the end of the day to sort this issue out with the dealer. Misunderstanding or not, this is bad business, horrendous customer experience, and a disgusting way to steal people's money with lies/deceit. I would have been an innocent victim of a $200 charge that I did not deserve in very difficult financial times with COVID had I not taken my own precautions and ensured I saved them in case of emergency. Not a chance of a referral but definitely a detractor

Did not see any u-Haul signs and drove right by location until coming back and saw trucks. I do not have data on my cell phone so was unable to click links for the rental process. Did not like that the rep had to use their phone to take a photo of my Driver's Licence. Hope they erased the photo after from their phone. Front of the cab smelt like cigarette smoke and had garbage on the dash still.

I sent this email a week ago and recieved no response yet. Hello, I was wondering if someone could call me about the issue I faced from Uhaul. I booked my pickup time originally for Sunday at 10am (I still have the emailed receipt showing that) and I recieved a text (after hours) saying my pick up time was changed to 1pm without any negotiation or forewarning, and messed up my moving day plans with my movers. Please call me at 416-889-7197 so we can discuss the 50$ return I receive when Uhaul does this according to your policy online. Chris Tulini

I am appalled At the service I received. Not only were extra charges added without my consent but the store openEd 30 minutes late ... I was accused of giving the wrong number And the truck I was provided smelled of Marijuana and other residue. I will never use U-Haul again.

Hello, Our Uhaul was very very dirty inside. There was what looked to be cigarette ash and dirt all over the cup holders. Didnt seem like anyone had even given the truck a quick wipe down in a while, which is surprising, especially with covid. Also, we had filled our gas right up to where we had received it as and we were still charged for fuel. Thanks, April

The vehicle was very very very DIRTY and in their time of COVID Uhaul need to have proper sanitation protocols in place, there was no washer fluid in the vehicle which makes it very difficult to see in the night as the windscreen was so dirty. I will never go back to this location to do business and will consider other alternatives to renting Uhaul in the future. This was my worst experience with Uhaul.

I selected a specific location during booking and it must has been updated when selecting different truck size because I was assigned to a different location 6km away from initial location.

I booked the car for 4pm and got it at 4:30. The website says guaranteed booking but it's actually not true. There were 2 other vans outside but they said they cannot assign me those as it already booked. Well i also booked it and i am before them. The previous customer didnt return the car adni got delayed.

They should read clear the contact before asking you money. He did charge me insurance fee after I clear mention I will used my own insurance. Now they telling me to call customer service before they can give me my money back. Before you talk to someone you can wait up to an hour.

Stop over charging people by increasing the kilometres! The worst experience so far that I had to pay $89 extra for the kilometres exceed 150. I rent only for 6 hours. The kilometres were overstated by 40km. Is this how Uhual making money? I spoke to customer service and they done nothing. Will not use this service again!

Once I took possession of the vehicle there were used water bottles and used rubber gloves inside the van. The van was clearly dirty and had definitely not been cleaned let alone sanitized!!! Very shocking considering our present COVID 19 situation!!!

The person attending there is extremely slow. I even reserved for 9 and they opened at 10. but this was not the problem: the keys for my truck got mixed up I don't know how. It took like other 40 minute to find them and do the paperwork.. Also when I went to return the truck. it took other 30 minutes or so, because of the slow service with the other people as well on the line that were complaining because of this. I ask to pay with debit they said yes, but when they gave me the receipt, the payment was made with the credit card. A bad experience for sure. They need to do something to improve the service or I wouldn;t recommend them or go back there.

I used the website to enter all my info (credit card), select my vehicle and any other additional items I wanted. I only wanted to rent the vehicle for $19.95. I specifically selected that I did NOT want additional coverage/insurance. I now see that at some point, without my authorization, this $15 charge was added... I will now have to waste my time to call in and get this refunded. A big blemish on an otherwise good service.

Hi, I rent a lot of trucks from Uhaul before at so many locations. You can check the record and see how many time but i have a worst experience ever with that location. I got to that location around 3:30pm Sun Mar-8-2020. That is the convenient store, the cashier guy is a brown guy like a newbie helped me to rent a 15" truck but he did it very slow with the system like he never did it before. He stopped so many time when there were some customers buying stuffs and wanted to pay.When he stopped and served the 4th customer, I can not tolerate anymore so I asked him that I came first and I need the truck, it has been 30mins and you couldn't finish the process for me to get it, he said the customers who buying stuffs at the store will be served with highest priority than people rent a truck. I was so disappointed to hear that. It took more than 45mins but he couldn't do it after asking me to take pics of my driver license 3 times because he said the system shows error with my driver license. Finally, he had to call other guy to help and the new guy finished the process to get the truck within 5mins. The truck is filled with some carton boxes on the floor left over from previous customer but i dont care. I took the truck to help my friend moving his stuffs to new rental property within 2 hours without any issue as usual. his old rental property and new one is within 3-4km including the distance from that store. I used total around 6miles in total. I returned the truck at 6pm, and keys was handed to the new guy who helped me got the truck within 5mins. The story is i got the bill today. They charged me 25$ plus tax extra for cleaning the truck, i don't know what they cleaned. And another bill is 427.16 for the damage to the truck. I swear to God that i didn't hit to anywhere and I didn't even know what the damage is.I tool the truck for only 1.5hrs and nothing happened during my moving time. I'm so disappointed about that location. It looks like they tried to cheat me. Please help me to resolve the problem. Regards, Quan Le

Please make sure that attendants have yo check and record the mileage of the car before handing in the key to customer. When I picked up the van there was more than 100 kilometers difference from the recorder mileage from the one to be reported online against the odometer and when i'm reporting the odometer on-line it did not go trough and gave me and error in the reporting and I can no longer send it. If did nor call I could have been charged more than 100 kilometer extra.

The pickup location wasn't able to give me my vehicle until 1hr 30 mins AFTER my pick-up time. The vehicle was on the lot but their employee who does all the check-ins didn't show up on time. I phoned customer service and was transferred 3 times to different customer service reps who would simply put me on hold for extended periods of time without offering any solutions. When the employee finally showed up and I got the vehicle I was told I would still be able to have it for 6 hours from the time I actually got the vehicle but when my previously scheduled 6 hours was up I received two phone calls from the pick-up location telling me I needed to return it immediately. The vehicle was also not cleaned and had garbage in it when I received it. Overall an extremely stressful and unpleasant experience.

I chose no insurance option but they still bill you for it and said it was mandatory, no other option. The car was not clean I took it and they charged me for Cleaning. In the end of the day, a bill that should have being 50 dollars, cost me 90! Not recommend. Do not trust on them.

I had reserved moving utilities (blankets, dollies, etc.) and when I opened the truck, none were in there. I disputed the charge and still got charged for those items. Also it's extremely difficult to maneuver out of that parking lot if there any cars parked opposite the truck spots. I'm never using this one again.

Service was very slow, perhaps there was a glitch in the system or the employee didn't know how to use it. We were on a tight timeline with moving and spent 20-30 minutes in the store trying to rent the truck that we had reserved from the day before. The person was unable to set our truck to drop-off-anywhere, so we had to return to that location after its use, which added mileage onto our tab. Also, I was quoted a fee under $100 total on the phone (I specifically asked if this was all hidden fees included, they said YES), and the charge came out to $125. We were NOT informed of the $22.60 fee for after-hours drop off even though we specifically said we would be dropping the vehicle off after hours. I definitely won't be using Uhaul again.

Seats were not clean, could've been brushed or vacuumed! The man who assisted us wasn't pleasant and our pickup was at 10:00 in the morning. Did not come out with us to check fuel level or give us a quick rundown on how to operate the truck. Of course I knew but he didn't ask if we needed assistance. Shouldn't assume all customers know how to operate these trucks.

The windshield was so dirty you could hardly see out of it. The left signal light was also burnt out. I have rented with uhaul for years and this time was the worst experience of all. I was sent to different locations for a truck. Lack of communication didn't help. This cut 1.5 hrs off of my move time. When I picked up the truck at the final location at 1pm they said ok you'll have the truck back at 3pm?! Um nope my reservation is for 6 hours. Was a bit stressful

You changed the location last minute, and I was forced to drive out of my way to pick-up and drop-off the truck. I was changed the extra km for this. I will NEVER use u-haul again.

Truck was filthy. Tire was almost flat. This was not the location i reserved with. I was to pick up at Yorkdale self storage but it was changed on my at the last minute. Very inconvenient. Terrible quality all around.

Pick up was for 9:00 on Sun morning. asked repeatedly what time I could pick up vehicle and was told 9:00 but not open until 9:30 when we got there. threw the whole moving process off because of times of booking elevator times. Other than that, friendly and helpful service and would book again. Just need people to know about their specifics before they book a vehicle.

Went through the whole process at 11pm only to find out the keys were nowhere to be found. I was told through the messaging app that there was nothing they could do but wait until 12pm the next day... I was supposed to be at the location with the truck loaded by 11am the next day as the time constraint is very sensitive

They don't have the supplies you specify on your site. You should stock up their location. They let me borrow one of their own dollies to help, but did not have the rolling furniture dolly available. If that is the case this should be recorded online as it was very needed for our move. I would recommend the staff they were good. But I felt very bad for them since they didn't have the right resources.

The conscience store closes at 9pm and I went to pick up my truck at 10:30 pm and it was closed already. Very inconvenient. They didn't have the truck ready for pick up, or the accessories requested. (No pads were provided). Also the drop off was really inconvenient they didn't know what to do waited 1 hour until I called u-haul customer service. The night of the pick up called customer service as well, and they treated me really poorly. Put me on hold for almos 1 hoy and a half, transferring between departments and finally they didn't solve the issue. Asked to be connected to a supervisor and they hung up on me. Really rude

At first, counter staff at Dollar Mart seemed aloof/not particularly interested in providing quality care, but I soon realized that their demeanor was in fact only partially due to the aforementioned. The rest was due to just not being knowledgeable about U-haul services/procedures/quality of customer care. Originally booked online. Rented a furniture dolly as well. After completing the online portion, something told me to call U-Haul directly to confirm the equipment was available at this particular location. I was guaranteed by a lively lady that the system would not have allowed me to select 'furniture dolly' if that location did not carry them. I arrived to pick up my rental van and....NO furniture dolly. The representative said she has never carried thise types of dollies, only utility dollies. Upon arriving back to return the vehicle, etc., I was told that even though I had not selected the damage package, nor needed it, I was being charged $15 for it and there was nothing she could do to change that. I called customer service. Quite obviously the lady who took my call was irritated or too busy. From the initial greeting, the rep's demeanor was condescending and short. She finally asked me 'What do I want? Do I want my $15, is that what I want?' I said yes, that was correct. She said she would take care of it and spoke briefly to the Dollar Mart/U-Haul rep. This was my experience. Never renting from a sub-contracted retailer again. This was not like my previous experiences with a REAL U-Haul Outlet.

Horrible experience. 1. The rep wanted to charge me extra for insurance when I didn't want it and I made it clear when I did the reservation online. 2. The truck I need it and had reserved wasn't available when I got there. 3. I had to pay extra to my landlord for extra time since I had to spend more time than expended. 4. The rep at the store was rude and asked me for my own insurance when online I wasn't asked for it. 5. The truck smells like cigarettes.
