The customer service agent was awesome. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive. I'd go back to that location just to work with him again! The app on the other hand was annoying. When I checked in, the app told me to go to the back of the building to find the vehicle. Once I had gotten back in my car and driven behind the building, looking for the truck and not finding it, I got back in my car and returned to the front of the building, where I found it. That wasn't cool. The app broke the rental process into steps, which could have been helpful, but instead they were very inefficient and annoying.

I originally asked for a truck from the Old Ox location, which is much closer to home, but they didn't have the 20ft truck there so they made me drive to the Quicksilver location which is much farther. The location is also confusing. The gentleman I was doing the remote pick-up and drop-off with was very nice and helpful. However, I initially ordered a furniture dolly and a regular dolly. They were not in the truck and so my wife had to go to another location and pick up two dollies (they didn't have a furniture one there, however). I was lucky my wife was able to help, because otherwise I would have been in a very difficult situation having two workers ready to do the moving and no dollies. I also filled up the truck all the way, so the tank was full when I dropped it off (I wasn't sure if I would have enough fuel to go to Fairfax and back), and the fuel was expensive ($38) so I'm wondering if I could get at least a partial refund on that.

The pick up location was changed at the last minute it was in an industrial complex with no office no nothing. Just a guy standing in the lot. No blankets. I had to go to the original location to get blankets, which is a great facility to pick up and drop off. You should have moved the truck to the original pick up location.

Please read this comment. This location provided excellent service. We went there after using the Ox Road U-Haul and getting miserable service there. We need a car carrier. We were hauling with a 2016 Ford F-150. The vehicle we were hauling was an old pick-up truck. The clowns at the Old Ox Road U-Haul rental stated the F-150 was too small. How f'ing stupid can these computer programs be? Any fool with a modicum of experience in towing knows the car carrier was big enough and the truck was big enough. We wasted 8-16 hours getting our work done.

The location was unprofessional, as all the business was conducted in a parking lot, with no office or counter space. The man serving us was also not professional: he wore no UHaul uniform, he was not organized and did everything on his phone, we had to wait 15 min because of helping someone else because he was by himself, but it also took longer because the app crashed on his phone several times and had to start whole process over each time. The man verbally told us the truck gas tank was on empty and the needle actually was at the empty mark (he did not take time to review it with us, as to the marked gas level on the contract, which every other location has done for us in the past). The contract said it was at 1/8 tank but without a hard copy contract we did not catch that, nor was it caught at the drop off location. In the past, the drop off person has taken the time to verify the gas gauge and the contract amount. This was not done. If it had, the issue could have been resolved right there. I have used UHaul at least five times this past year and never had a complaint until this time. I am not happy that we were not given the option of receiving a paper copy of the contract, as that is what we are used to, and would have helped in avoiding our being charged for gas that were should not have had to pay for. Also, the last half of the trip from Virginia to Ohio, the truck was not driving well, although I don't know the exact details, as I was not in the truck.

Order was messed up. I reserved over a month ago a 20" truck in sterling. I received a confirmation text the day before pick up, to go to a location 2 hours away to pick up the truck. Uhaul changed my location without consulting me, because they did not have the truck available for my pick up a day before reservation pickup date. I got a new location to pick up, ended getting a downgrade truck from what i needed. They gave me a 15" truck instead of 20". The establishment was closed even though they were supposed to be open for business. I was originally going to pick up the truck at 6am. The 15"truck was set to be picked up at 8am but the establishment didnt open until 9am cause the representative was late. I only got a $9 dollar refund for my downgrade., lateness and screwup. I had to pay movers from 6am which was the original pickup time. Uhaul's mistake costed me an additional $250 in cost because of the company's screwup. I dont think i will use uhaul again

There was no store front to enter. This location was not "manned." A type written note was taped on the door instructing customers to call a number and the person in charge would meet you at that location around the back of the store front, so you can pick up the rental equipment/vehicle. Documentation was completed at the Chantilly location where the trailer was originally reserved, but they did not have the right trailer. I had to drive to the Sterling location from the Chantilly location.

Only one person at location; waited 30 min. Vehicle had 3/4 tank of fuel, but was not updated on the contract. Was also verbally told it was an extra $10/day, turned out to be $40; partially my bad for not doing the mobile checkin and reviewing the contract. They also did not have the furniture pads, but what can you do. Attendant was very nice, but unfortunately due to a hasty checkout, the rental ended up costing me double. Next time I'm using the mobile checkout for sure...

I took the vehicle at Sterling, Va. These guys charged me 100$ over and when I tried to reach no one is responding. I did go there to find someone but no use. I disputed the transaction as I don’t have an option.

The rental truck was not cleaned and it smelled like someone was smoking in the cabin. The odometer did not match what the miles had online. The dolly was not tied down. I paid for couch covers did not receive them. The constant moving of reservations, the wasted time and money spent. Poor communication from the U-Haul phone representative.

Amar was awesome! I needed the truck for three days to move my daughter to college. So I rented it for three days, expecting to pay a hefty mileage charge. So I returned the truck, using the night drop, and made note of the mileage. Was gonna be expensive, I estimated. BUT - without me even asking, Amar had changed the rental to a one week rental, which gave me more 'included' miles - and that saved me over $100! Amar didn't have to do that and could've taken the extra money without mentioning the cheaper alternate, so big kudos to him!! When I need to rent another truck, it'll be from District Performance. This type of honesty and customer service is rare nowadays. Thanks Amar!!!

No one was there to greet me when I arrived there to pick up the truck. Also, no one was there to receive me when I return the truck. The final bill that was sent to me via the EMail, the charge was wrong and ended up calling someone to correct the final bill. I am still waiting on the corrected final billing statement!

The Uhaul agent informed me that a hold would be placed on my charge catd for a 2day rental. I informed him that I only needed the truck for one day. He replied that the drop-off location would process the charge based on the number of days that I rented it. That was not the case. The pick up location in fact charged me for two days rental which I was not aware of until I dropped the truck off the next day at the drop-off site. I filed a complaint with Uhaul and it was referred to the drop-off site regional manager. The Uhaul drop off site regional complaint department manager informed me that the charge for 2 days would remain because that is the number of days that the pick up locale put in my contract rental. The drop off regional supervisor stated that although I had been misinformed by the pick up agent, Uhaul would still charge me for 2-days instead of the 1-day that I actually rented the truck and that I had no other recourse.
