The guide on the contract to return vehicle with same amount of fuel in tank resulted in me returning vehicle with 1/4 of tank of fuel more than when i recieved the vehicle. Operator of U-Haul dealership refused to credit me for the cost of that extra fuel. I followed up with telephone support: the first time I called i spoke with someone who did not know what to do and then redirected me to a voice mail that could not take a message. I called telephone support a second time and followed direction by submitting gas receipt by email with understanding I would recieve call back to remedy situation. To date, I have not heard back from UHaul. You have lost my trust and will never do business with you again.

I am left extremely dissatisfied with my recent U-HAUL experience. I had reserved a cargo van to move out of a condo in Toronto. The reservation provided for pick up and return of the van in Manotick. When I arrived in Toronto, I realized that I had underestimated the amount of cargo space I would need. I called customer service and was informed that I could visit a U-Haul location and modify my reservation to leave the original vehicle in Toronto and rent a larger vehicle that would be returned in Manotick. Unfortunately, the counter staff at the Rexdale location said they couldn’t help me - they advised me that something like this just isn’t done. Further, I received a phone call from the Manotick manager/franchise owner advising me that the van I rented belonged to his location and that if I left it at a U-Haul location in Toronto I would be charged “thousands of dollars” in penalties. Given this and the fact that time was not on my side, I “sucked it up” and made due with the van I had originally rented. I can’t overstate how being forced to use the smaller vehicle exacerbated the overall stress of moving. In the future, I will endeavour to use other rental companies wherever I can. Further, I will be enthusiastically sharing this story with my friends, colleagues and anyone who will listen in the hopes of steering their business to an organization with superior customer service. U-Haul may be one of the (if not the) largest rental companies in Canada - but they are certainly NOT the best.

Mention that if the drop off happens AFTER HOURS, and customer chooses to complete online drop off using cell phone, location finder service on phone and uploaded photos of the vehicle/trailer will be required. Complete these before leaving the equipment.

The store hours are horrible. Does not even show up at the will be back time. The trailer tires were supposed to be 85 psi cold temp. One looked low as I arrived to my loading location, I checked the pressure, passenger side was 12 psi, driver side was 59 psi. Always confirming quality and safety???

I was very put off by the amount of information requested: wife's name & phone; another contact's name and phone. The agent told me this was U-Haul's requirement. This is an outrageous mining of personal information and when I initiated cancelling the rental, the agent made some concessions or substitutes. If asked again,I will certainly walk away. I am hereby asking U-Haul to delete the information on me and my contacts - this was an offensive intrusion into our privacy.

Very friendly staff, but extremely dirty and disorganized inside. Vehicle steering and brakes were not great.
