This rental was nothing but trouble. This location had nice owners, but were generally unhelpful. I booked at a different location that said it was open and confirmed my reservation. Got a call the next day, just a few hours before my reservation, saying that location was closed - so why could I book in there, in the first place? The person who called (her first day ever) was very nice, with limited experience to deal with something like this. She took appropriate pauses to ask for help from colleagues or supervisors... but it took a long time. I wasn't sure there was going to be a reasonably close option open that still had an available booking. She did manage to find another location reasonably close to my starting point and easily approved the $50 credit if the guaranteed booking wasn't available. Great, fine, satisfied. When I arrived for my new reservation, the van wasn't there. It kept not showing up. There was zero information about when it would arrive. The location owners were nice, but didn't seem to have access to any information. They said to call customer service, who wouldn't give me any information, either. They did extend my rental from 4hr to 24hr, but talked around the $50 credit when the guaranteed rental isn't there - to which I am still entitled based on your very own declaration from the start of the reservation process to the end. They didn't want to give it to me despite yet Another problem with this rental, and wouldn't refer me to anyone else who could approve it. When the van finally arrived, it was an hour late and completely dirty. Then the photos I was supposed to compare it to were of a brand new vehicle, not at all updated to account for the wear and tear and previously accumulated damage, so I spent yet another 45min filling everything out - I barely had enough battery power to complete the online forms With photos With lengthy descriptions to ensure I wouldn't be held accountable for others' damages. Thankfully, I didn't require a perfectly clean van for my job, or it would have added still MORE time cleaning out the back. No one told me I had to fill out the contract online (more demands on my battery power). I wanted to start reading and filling in paperwork while we waited for the van to arrive, but couldn't even start because the owners said it wouldn't let me start filling it out until the van was returned and MY rental began. Y'all. Waste of 20min I could have used getting to my job and my help. Besides, the contract didn't work on my phone because it's, like, 8yr old. If you want to insist on an only online format, you need to support the OSes still in use. Fortunately, the location owner was able to pull it up on their laptop and we completed it there. There was a discrepancy between the low gas charge on the contract I signed vs the agreement I approved online after finally finishing the damage pre-report; I made note of it in my comments on that report, even though I planned to refill the gas sufficiently before I returned the van. Then I had to wait for some random customer to finish using the dolly I'd reserved; he'd just kinda walked in and grabbed it from the front of the store, and the owner didn't make any motion to ask him to take all the boxes off and give it to me. It was the only one of the kind I'd reserved. I almost left without it; at that point, it was just One More Thing and I had to get going. As it was, by the time I left, I lost half of my help for the back end of my job because of how late it was when i finally got the van. From the start, this whole process was nothing but frustrating, ramping up to infuriating, and finishing with a headache. I lost half of my help because of how late I got the van, let alone finally left with it, due to how badly this reservation was managed. Based on past experience, I had expected an easy, straight-forward reservation and rental process. Now, I plan to try every other option before resorting to U-Haul in the future.

Great location and owner of the store. However I am disappointed how bad the U-Haul app and the self check-in and check out experience is. I had issues submitting the pictures through my phone but luckily the location was still open to assist me with checkout.

Picking up the rental was a NIGHTMARE. The website kept glitching and logging me out in the middle of the process. It took us 25 minutes from the time we arrived at the pick-up location to the time we got the key out of the lockbox. Returning the rental was more of a NIGHTMARE, because it was dark and cold and we were tired from moving. The website continually glitched, and the hold time for customer service was 20 minutes. I had the odometer memorized halfway though because I had entered it into the website SO. MANY. FUCKING. TIMES. For offering a mobile, contactless pick-up and drop-off option, the website is complete shit. I will not use again and I will not recommend to anyone I like or respect. If I want to really piss someone off, though, I will encourage them to try mobile pick-up and drop-off, because I know they will have a shitty time.

Self service rental of a cargo van, overall the process is simple and straight forward. Only recommendation is to have a sticker inside indicate where the hand-break is and how to release it. Also indicate how big the fuel tank is, so we can quickly identify how much fuel is needed prior to returning.

I rented the 9' Cargo Van. It was a pretty straightforward process in doing online check-in and mobile pick-up/drop-off. My only complaint is that the U-Haul website does not allow for any additional comments/photos outside of what is prompted. For example, I wanted to show some marks on the front bumper, but there was no section of the process that asked for photos of the front of the van (it asked for photos for the sides, back, and interiors of the van, though).

My issue was mainly with getting the vehicle. Issues recognising different phone numbers that are 1 digit off, the process took me an hour as it forced me to start over a few times in the picture process and noting existing damage that wasn't noted in the provided pictures. Also for is the vehicle clean only one picture could be added. The van had garbage tucked everywhere; in the doors behind the seats, back area had bits of garbage from previous use that we had to clean it before use.

The check in and check out process is unbelievably difficult! Compared to just walking in and talking to a person, the 20 minutes I spent answering questions, taking pictures of myself and my ID, the vehicle, the surrounding area (yes, really) was a total hassle and waste of time. I'll never rent from Uhaul again if I can't do it by talking to a real person on-site.

Was not told I needed to refill van. Will not rent from uhaul again since I feel I was taken advantage of. I've never rented a vehicle before and didn't realize i needed to pay for fuel. Also the person I delt with lied about how much fuel I used.

1. Vehicle had garbage inside when I received it. Mechanically the vehicle was in good condition. 2. The app that I am supposed to use to check the vehicle's condition when I received it did not work at all. Could not upload any pics of roof scratches which were present but not shown on previous photos of the vehicle. . This puts me at risk unfairly.

Was directed by online drop off to this location. After completing the self drop off through my smartphone there was no lockbox to drop the key off. Store owner of location did not receive information regarding my drop off so he didn't want to take the key. After 50 minutes of being on hold with U-haul customer service I was told told leave the key in the vehicle. Very inconvenient and annoying.

I left a lengthy message about the disgusting cleanliness of this vehicle, particularly during a pandemic, and no one from uhaul has gotten back to me. The vehicle key was not with the vehicle either, so I had to come inside and be around people even though I did mobile check-in. Disappointed in covid practices form uhaul.

Wasted 30 minutes trying to figure out how to unlock the box to get the key. The code given on the online pick up was not working and even the call center representative was giving the same number that doesn't work. 45 minutes later, the owner came in to open the store and gave us a different code that finally worked.

my entire experience with this pick up was horrendous. I first didn't get any service from the person in charge and told me to do everything online. When I attempted, it didn't give me a code only then he assisted wit the passcode (which he didn't know to begin with). The entire driver and passenger's seat were covered in animal fur which made my moving partner get an allergic reaction. Entirety of vehicle was covered in dirt or watermarks. This experience was entirely unacceptable. I also drove 50km, not 60km as previously estimated. Which he didn't mention and charged me for 60km.

Overall I had a fantastic experience, the customer service was great and he went through each step with us so we knew what to do! The passenger side seat was a bit sticky and the van could use a good wipedown but it was very well maintained and easy to use.

The initial person at this location was not familiar with how to complete the pick up of the vehicle. Another employee had to show up later to complete the pick up. This was frustrating as the experience wasted 40 minutes of my time.

The truck had a broken rear right light which is very unsafe, and this was not mentioned beforehand so we could not make alternate arrangements. Furthermore, some of the information we had to fill out before renting the truck was not saved and we had to re-enter it into the store owner's laptop which delayed our start time. As well, there is only one person in charge of the store which provides services for Canada Post as well so we had to wait for him to serve several customers.
