The fleet was obviously old and at 147k miles it showed in the drivability. I'd hate to have had this unit for a long trip. My milage was about the max I could stand. Otherwise, the contactless pickup and drop off after hours was priceless so I didn't have to take time off work or extend the rental so as not to return it on a holiday.Matthew N.

The location of the vehicle was wrong. I was entering a vehicle that was unlocked with no key to be found. The office onsite said they couldn't help me. I had to wait 20 minutes on hold calling uhaul to help. When we finally located the vehicle it was dirty. I asked for a call back to dispute the charges and no one ever called.STEPHEN B.
Giving 5 stars so my review will be viewed. Everything was great but there were many hidden fees. - for this reason I am giving this service 2 stars below average. I was told it was $29.95 for the 15' truck along with $0.89 for every mile driven. I was hit with a $20 fee for using after hours, a $1.00 environmental fee, a $10.92 fuel charge (EVEN THOUGH I REFILLED THE TANK), a $9.50 rental tax, a $5.00 motor vehicle tax, and the total came out to $157.57 after all of these hidden fees that are not told to you before you rent from this service.SEAN A.

I dropped the trailer off 15 hours before I was set to drop it off. I was not told there were special instructions while dropping off. I've ALWAYS just dropped the trailer off. At my latest return time, 15 hours I dropped the trailer off, I received a call asking where the trailer was because â€œit wasn't there and you didn't follow the return instructionsâ€. Low and behold, the trailer WAS there the whole time and I was charged an after hours drop off which clearly was not true. I've rented a bunch of uhaul trailers. This is the third or forth one from this particular location (Hamburg, NJ), and it'll be my last.JOSEPH M.

I was charged $20 for after hours drop-off. This location does not have staff on site during regular business hours. I returned the equipment during those regular hours but there was no one there to check me in and I never received a text/email to check-in online. I should not have been charged for this. Either you have staff present when they are supposed to be present or otherwise provide an alternative mechanism for returning equipment.JAMES K.

The Mobil check out/return is a clunky time consuming pain. Assistance is very hard to obtain. Then during return I get charged an extra $7.00 for saying I used the provided hand truck which is already in the truck. There was no mention of an additional fee for use of this upfront. Our experience was not pleasant...the man at the location was rude and curt...not helpful whatsoever....if it wasn't for customer service via the phone we would not have rented from this location....the cab of the truck smelt really bad so it was not an enjoyable experience driving the truck. The sunvisor on the drivers side was broken making it difficult to drive. I would not recommend this location to anyone especially because of the lack of customer service. Why be rude?Laura G.

We arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled pick up time and had to wait for 30 minutes until an employee arrived to help us. The vehicle we had booked was suddenly 'not available' and had been double booked. I find this sort of practice to be incorrigible. Initially the revised rate given to us was significantly higher than the original rate associated to our original vehicle, and only after we pushed back on this did we get the rate reduced. However, the experience still ended up costing us circa 20% than originally estimated. Disappointed and Disillusioned.Justin H.

Dismiss this dealer as he has other businesses that he deems more important than U-Haul. He incorrectly posts both the pick-up and return times. I was charge an inappropriate $20.00 "After Hours Service Fee". I called several times between 3:00 & 3:30 stating my intent to pick up the trailer early. I was at the Deboer's Auto Inc locations where I made additional calls prior to 4:00 notifying Deboers that I was on-site for pick-up but noone was there and noone return the calls. Other customers had been waiting there for someone to show up as well. The person who finally did arrive Before 4:00 saw me there waiting and handled the other customers in turn. His lack of concern and HIS tardiness caused him to state in error that it was then after hours. If I don't receive the $20.00 credit I shall never use U-Haul at this location or any other ever again. Social Media will be saturated with my displeasure. The Deboer's could not care less for their U-Haul business or their customers.Larry D.

The automatic system is a mess. I lost at least an hour of my life trying to sign in and reset my password only for my login credentials to work at the time of my return. I received no email to reset or verification code, and just received error after error on the webpage. I have rented at least 5 times from this location and the only thing I can complain about is the automated system. It works when it wants to, which is unacceptableJustin V.

The check in was horrendous! You're assuming that everyone is proficient in the use of smart phones! The reception on my phone is sporadic, at best, so it was very difficult signing in. When returning the truck, my son, who was the driver, could not just drop off the truck but had to call me to come to the site. At the end of a very long day of moving furniture, the last thing I wanted to do was drive another 20 minutes to complete what should have been a simple task. May I add that I am in my mid-70's and am not a fan of technology! In person would have been nice.Marc C.

I made my reservation by calling uhaul. Even though I had confirmation for picking up at that location, at that time, the office was closed. It took an hour and 45 minutes for me to be able to access the truck that I was sitting next to the whole time. Because of the time delay, I lost 2 of my helpers and my day was completely messed up. It took the final person on the phone only 5 minutes to gain me access after waiting for so long. Your system needs workTerri J.

Worst experience I have ever had! The truck had ashes all over it! The sunviser on the driver side was broken I couldn't even see while driving! The brakes need to be done! Worked well for me and the price is fantastic.! I rented a 4 x 7 trailer towed behind my Grand cherokee .I would suggest one of those fiberglass drive way markers in a neon color be placed at the rear corners on the smaller trailers.I was going straight and a car waiting to make a left from the other direction almost didn't see the trailer behind me. His stupidity yes ...but those end markers would help.Fred S.

The one issue with the phone was the item over writing chrome. It took me forever to figure this out. Also the fuel read full but went below the full line right as I pulled out and just about 2 miles away. When I filled it it went way above the full line. Just knit pickingPaul S.

The staff were very helpful and attentive, especially with my changing schedule, technical glitches with uploading images, and other snafu's. The app had issues uploading the hi res images of my license because of the poor quality of the Verizon mobile data network in the area. Please make sure that the time for the lock box is adjusted properly so that a customer doesn't have to wait an hour for pickup during non business hours. Even more concerning: DO NOT ALLOW RENTERS TO SMOKE IN THE TRUCKS!!! Mine had cigarette ashes all over, and the ashtray was filled with cigarette butts from the previous renter, which made the whole truck reek for the entire time I was in it...even with the windows open!!Aaron B.

My experience was horrible. My original reservation was changed last minute and my locations moved more than once. The online service was terrible!! I couldn't get my truck at pick up due to location devices not able To pick up my location. Once the company rep helped me over the phone I was able to get the keys and truck. Same problem on the return as well as the fact that I could not get the keys out of the ignition. The rep had me leave the keys in and was sending someone to fix it. I wasn't able to finalize and still haven t gotten any bill or receipt. There was another person having the same Problem as me at the rt 23 location. I was put under a time restraint since I had my reservation changed And there were no trucks available for my original reservation so I was trying to hurry but unable to due to the poor system. It was one of the worst experiences I've had with a company. Never again will I use uhaul.Cheryl C.

Ensure location services , was a problem. My phone was set up properly but it wouldn't let me get to the next step. Had a hard time getting in touch with someone to help. Took about 45 minutes which set us back that time. We returned the truck in perfect condition with a full tank of gas at 5:57 pm. Which means I was 3 minutes early. I was charged an â€œAfter Hours Chargeâ€. My time was for 12-6 pm. That jeans I back early. Please remove the after hours charge. GraciasBob H.
