Probably the worst experience I've had with any customer service. Employee said he didn't know how the dolly worked when I asked if he could assist with the equipment. After asking if anyone else was there to assist he got annoyed and magically remembered how to hook it up to the truck. When I was trying to load the car on the dolly instead of helping he took a picture of me and posted the picture to his Instagram (I saw it when I got out to ask him if he could help me line up the tires). When I asked for his name he refused. I took his picture, so I can make a formal complaint to uhaul. He chased me out of the store cursing at me. I ended up having to drive the truck to another location, Uber back to pickup my car, then drive my car to the truck. I filed a formal complaint, but there were no discounts nor refunds nor formal apologies. Not happy.

While they had smaller trucks that could have been sent on my trip, they did not have them marked as available. The truck smelled, therefore: Sticky was in the bed of the truck, which the attendant did not go to with me, even when he saw I had trouble finding it. The location had many trucks the size I wanted, but not on for reservations.

The entire check out process was ridiculous. I checked in the day before to expedite it, but instead it took me 45 minutes to get the actual truck. When I got there, the clerk was telling me I had to check in through my phone even though it was a "counter check in." I then had to use UHaul's live chat to convince him that it was a counter check in. He then told me that he could not do a counter check in because the computer was locked. I then had to go back to the Live Chat to get it changed to a phone check in. Once I did that, UHaul asked me for my employer's information and for an alternative contact. At no point during the entire process of scheduling and checking in beforehand did UHaul notify me that I would need to provide that information. It was then 4AM and UHaul needs to get into contact with someone with no notice. That was ridiculous. UHaul tried to contact my alternative, but when she did not pick up, UHaul refused to try and contact that person again after I got ahold of her. Needless to say, I thought the whole thing was extremely unorganized. UHaul needs to provide a basic list of everything people need before they get there. The whole pre-check in process proved to be a total waste of time.

The self service of Logging in to app and ordering your truck is very easy. But you you get to this location 樂 it's a bit confusing! You expect to deal with a u-haul repetitive when there is not one at all. What you have is a gas station Clerk behind the glass that really could less that he has to deal with you at all when he's to busy on his phone.. or dealing with his own customers  because of it being a Exxon plus / u-haul your on the same line as people holding coffee and butter rolls . Allow yourself time ahead to get there earlier than your pick up time to try a figure out the u-app when you get there  and follow all directions take lots of your own pictures of any damage befor you leave the lot !! Not just the app pictures. Gas/miles of your own ! Before you leave and! Upon arrival.

the new phone-only routine to return vehicles is a dismal failure. many phones do not play well with your set up and for those customers, it is a royal hassle to do what used to be a simple process of return. your app accepted the details I entered but refused my picture of the dash. when I then proceeded as directed, I was sent to a page where all of the buttons were grayed out and un-usable. while many rental companies have made the process easier, you have made it impossible. it too me almost 20 minutes to work something out with the person behind the counter - as they insisted that the phone-only process was the ONLY process that was acceptable. since it didn't work with my flavor of Android, I was subject to an unnecessarily extended return process.

Attendant just told me to use my phone to check out every thing. It took me more than 30 minutes to get his attention and another 30 minutes to check out with my phone as he just said follow instructions and I had to take a number of pictures to complete my checkout. In short, aside from his minimal instructions, I had to do everything. But now I know what is involved with phone checkout.

Clean the equipment before renting out. Get better outside workers. I dropped the van key inside of the van at 930 pm at Walmart in Secaucus, NJ called for help help arrived at 7:30 the next morning. The worker did a crappy service job and even damaged the around both front doors. Denting and scratching the paint.. The worker called another employee for help to finally get the door open at 9:30 the next morning..

The location had tons of equipment and wouldn't do a walk in for a rental. They just pointed to a code that was on the window and said scan it. I told the guy I didn't have an Iphone, so why can't you just do the rental over the counter. He just played dumb and lazy and refused me. This was at 7:30 am. I went to a desktop and made an reservation and again he refused to look the reservation up and get me the rental. I had to call customer service who finally at 8:45 am got me into a rental, but I was behind in my project. My reservation number was 26047132. I was overcharged at the end of my contract for a dolly and furniture covers. Across the street is a Home Depot store that rents Penske trucks. I think next time I'll try them out. This location doesn't deserve the 1 star I gave them.

The self check in process was atrociously inefficient, too much information asked, I had already uploaded my driver license ahead of time and was asked to upload again, and I had to wait 5 minutes for some verification step. In overall it was too inefficient and time consuming.

Workers not very helpful. UHaul should tell renters in advance that personal vehicles can't be left on site. And workers shouldn't wait till the moment you're driving off property to inform renters of that. A van should not be provided with less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Horrible horrible customer service!!! It took me over a hour to just check in properly, because they didn't want to do there job. I kept telling them I was having issues with the app, but they didn't want to help so we can get everything taken care of, so the process took triple the time. I will never rent from that location again. Literally ruin my day.

The pick up was honestly quite frustrating. I had selected mobile pick up and it took two hours and multiple phone calls to figure out. No one at the location was able to assist as I had to go through Uhaul. The truck itself was great, however the entire process has put me off from using any Uhaul rentals in the future. Additionally, the van was not loaded with the necessary equipment I had paid for.

this was the WORST experience ever! I thought I was picking up the u-haul at an actual u-haul place, not a gas station. The entire check in procedure was through an app, which took FOREVER! why is there a person there then? I would have MUCH rather a person help me than do this through the phone. it would have been so much faster and more efficient. Then I had ordered dollies when I made my reservation, but the location didn't have any! how are you a u-haul place and not have ANY dollies???? I had to purchase my own at Home Depot. I would like to be reimbursed for this because you should have had them! You are u-haul! Additionally, there was less than a 1/4 tank of gas in the truck when we got it. What kind of service is this?? we had to fill up the tank to be able to use the truck. rentals always require at least half if not 3/4 of a tank before it can be returned. this was just complete unacceptable.

The truck was not ready when we arrived so we were delayed about 45 minutes in starting our move. The team there was not helpful and did not provide a dolly like I had pre paid for. On the return the team could not assist us in returning at all as we were having trouble with the app. The app would not let us return and we kept receiving an error that stated “your session has ended”. The mileage upon renting the truck was incorrect and so when we were to enter the return mileage we were going to be charged 800+ miles driven when we had only driven 17 miles. The experience was stressful and nobody was onsite to help.

When I picked my uhaul up and turned it on, there was a homeless man sleeping in the bed of the box truck. While I completely understand the need for a dry place to stay, I was taken of guard and slightly scared when he came out of the bed of the truck and wasn't sure what to do. When I pulled out and was able to inspect the unit it smelled and had to be aired out to prevent my belongings from being contaminated with the smell. There was also a small hole in the back right corner of the truck, it was unnoticeable until it started raining. The rain leaked through and damaged some of my belongings. All in all it was a bit chaotic and not my most favorable uhaul experience.

Awful experience. I reserved the truck 5 days in advance, and I get to the location early just for the person at the front desk to tell me that they don't have the truck I reserved. Extremely unapologetic, and not willing to help. He said I can wait an hour for the truck I reserved, or pay extra for a larger truck? Why should I have to pay extra when the truck that I reserved IN ADVANCE was not there? On top of that, I waited 45 minutes while he tried to figure out the system. I had taken time off work to move and having this kind of service was extremely frustrating. I will not be recommending this service to anyone.

The check-in and pick up process at this location is a headache. The staff are rude and seem annoyed when assisting renters. After I submitted all my info online, I had to still check in and provide additional info at the location. It was not an good experience.

Your app is terrible. I upload my license every time and it never sticks. You don't seem to understand that the USVI is the United States it is not international. The state code is VI. Whoever was on the other end of my chat yesterday hung up on me. I rent from you 4 times a month. I am going to be looking for an alternative.

I was charged for the rental of a dolly which wasnt given to me and i was told would be removed since not available at this location. The van was dirty inside when i picked up. I was in a hurry so i used my own blanket to make sure my furniture didnt get dirty.

I was a bit confused about how to proceed with your new method of photographing the icon and doing it all by phone. The agent (whom, I believe, is newish) at the time was not terrific. "If you want me to do it for you, you'll have to wait 'til I finish my lunch". I left, assuming he would do it, and he took care of it 1/2 hour later so that my check in time was that much later (I was already 1/2 hr. late due to awful traffic). Is this customary?

This vendor is good because he has a large inventory so it wasn't a problem getting a rental even the day before i needed it. The van was dirty inside and smelled slightly like urine so the associate did blow it out to clean it and gave us an air freshener which did help hide the urine smell. We only needed it for a quick local trip so it was fine. I might have been more picky if I was really going to be in the van for hours or days. Not a huge fan of the requirement to use an app for everything.

the agents here have some really serious attitude problems. They never help you even when they have nothing to do. When I was picking up my truck with my reservation number and every other information, the guy told me to scan a QR code and do online check out by myself. But the website have a lot of bugs, it asked me for the picture of the driver license 3 times, sent me over 10 verification codes and still couldn't get me a truck. The process took an hour long. He ended up helping me check out a truck within 2 mins. I was wondering, could him help me at the beginning and avoid this mess? He would watch you waste 1 hour of your time when he know he could help you get it done in minutes. And when I returned it, he (one other guy) even ask me for 20 dollars extra tip for helping checking out or he would not help. He just ignored me and kept organizing the shelf. Be prepared to spend hours of more time here or tip those guys 20 dollars extra each visit, both pick up and return. Avoid. I would go to a further location to pick up uhaul trucks next time or choose other companies if I need truck again.

Employees were not very friendly or helpful. Uhaul pickup process was burdensome just to verify my identity; had to wake up my wife at 7am despite having a valid license. Also the online check in once getting the keys was confusing and misleading - I uploaded pics but apparently never moved the fuel gauge icon so I was hit with 100 dollars worth of fees for gas; despite putting in 90 dollars glide my trip. I left just as much gas in the truck as there was when I got it. Other than that the truck and moving was fine.

Person at this location was not very helpful. Had us do the self check in on our smartphone, yet a few hours earlier a Uhaul rep called wanting to change the drop off location to a place that would be open. We could have done an after hours drop at our preferred location using our phone.

Gas station cashier was juggling between uhaul customers and gas station customers. My reservation took 45 minutes to obtain my truck. I had an 8am reservation and showed up an hour later and he said I had to call uhauls number to reschedule my pickup time. What's the point of the reservation and using the online check-in feature the day before if they're going to give away your truck? The uhaul attendant onsite told me my truck had been given away because I was late which is absurd. Then i call the number to reschedule, the first representative said she couldn't get me in until 12pm but then wasn't able to due to computer issues so she transferred me to their national help. This second phone rep was able to resolve and reschedule my truck reservation within a few seconds. The truck of my size was in the lot so I didn't understand why it took three people to resolve this matter. So what can you improve? 1. dedicated uhaul employees on site 2. don't give away reservations especially if they've been checked into online. uhaul should attempt to contact the customers in that case, send a text, or email. why are we paying in advance if you're just going to give away our trucks?

Only one employee checking everyone in during a busy weekend and he was not kind nor did he seem knowledgeable about the uhaul rental procedure. However once I got in the rental the vehicle was clean and worked well.

The new reservation system is absolutely terrible. The website kept crashing when I tried to upload photos via mobile, it took much longer than it did before, and on-location team members were of no help outside of “we'll charge you $20 if we have to do it.” I'll be avoiding this location moving forward and instead use locations that don't use the self-checkin process.

The self checkout seems to have externalized the work with no customer benefit. It does not save time, it wastes time. What would normally take 15 minutes now takes 45. Management was less than helpful. Plan accordingly I recommend you go somewhere else (don't rent vans from a gas station!)
