These 2 U-Haul locations were great. The Odessa location saved the day for me. Chris was great & a a big help..Because U-Haul in Elmira, that was supposed to have my trailer, did not. They sent me to Elmira Heights & they did not have it. The U-Haul regional manager found me a trailer in Odessa. Overall the entire experience delayed my days by several hours & took me 75 miles out of my way before my 4.5 hour trip with the trailer. There is more - but I will stop here. I doubt I will ever use U-Haul again. Have had very positive experiences renting trucks from Ryder & Penske. Too bad they don't have trailers. This is not the fault of Odessa U-Haul - they were wonderful.

Originally scheduled to pick up in Ithaca. They did not have a truck for me so I had to drive to Odessa to actually pick up and was charged for an extra day.

I called and wanted to use an Ithaca pickup location. It took five attempts at twenty minutes per try to get them to answer the phone. When they did pickup they put me on hold for another ten minutes. Getting the order made was easy. They informed me a scheduling managed would call back with an hour. The hours later I called the 800 number and waited another twenty minutes for a rep. They informed me I'd get a call one to two days before the pickup date. When I got a call I was told I'd have to pickup the truck at an alternate location. I was offered an extra hundred miles as a consolation. When I informed the rep I didn't even need the allotted miles much less a hundred extra and asked if I could get dollies free or some other discount I was informed the extra miles we're all that could be offered. Overall I'm not impressed with a company that waits for the day before a big move to tell me if the rental is available and then expects me to retrieve their inventory from an alternate location as if I had nothing better to do. Offering me extra miles that they know will be useless to me is just a slap in the face. I've worked in call centers before. Making a customer wait on the phone once it's bad enough but every single call is just abysmal customer service. I'll be sure to mention this experience to anyone I know who is planning a move.

Owner allowed transfer of trailer after hours. Made the transition extremely easy and pickup fast in the morning
