Owner was a jerk, told me I didnt have an online order and wouldnt work with me because â€œthe whole place has covidâ€ -owner. Then he turned around and found the keys after completely blowing me off. Then the truck was covered in dry mud on the floors of the cab. Also the back of the truck hadnt been swept in months. Also moving pads I ordered and paid for were not in the truck. Horrible experience.William D.
I was charge for fuel I brought the truck back where it was when I picked it up. I feel I was very overcharged. Charges from $64 to $158!!! Way to much of a difference and I was not notified before it was taken from my checking acct. I am very unhappy with the service ice.Kelly R.

Rudest manager and I drove 17 miles and he charged me $49 for gas and the truck uses 10 gal of gas per mile. And I used 16 I think that was excessive. He shouted at me thru the phone saying "I cant help you " several times . Couldn't get 1 word inBarbara A.

This was the worse experience I had with Uhaul . The rental I received barely had any gas in upon my departure. I had to place gas in the truck 20 min until my departure. I rented the Uhaul for the total of 4 hours ! I previously paid $100 . For the rental received and charged. Another $166 upon receipt of my rental I find it very inconvenient and highly unprofessional that I received a fuel service fee of $100 after placing gas and the vehicle twice and to be told I did not is an insult to my intelligence. I rented from the Darien Collinsion Center through mobile check in . My original departure was for 8am one highly inconvenient on having to place several calls to customer service to retrieve a key code after been constantly Misinformed from several of your locations and neighborhood dealers . Secondly How are you providing rentals with no fuel . I am very upset I could have broke down on the road as I was in MOVING process yes the service you are supposed to be providing . Well I do believe DOES NOT alight with the contract. Thirdly after speaking with Darien center to request a refund for my inconvenience I was told I need to contact Uhaul directly spoke with a Manager who clearly showed no interest to accommodating me for my inconvenience. I'm highly disappointed I advise you to do better and and assure you are AS well your third party dealers are supplying the exceptional service you claim to offer . Poor experience poor lack of customer service and I would not recommend to anyone that I know . I am akai contacting corporate to request a Fulk refund for the lack of service provided and the contract provided that was not honored by your establishment DO BETTER.Greda H.

My initial order for today was horrible - I had a van booked for 8am and when I arrived at 8am the UHaul app told me I had to wait for the business to open at 10am. I had multiple people waiting for me and this issue affected everyone involved with this move of a recently passed relative. I was glad that someone from scheduling was able to send me to this location for an available van but you have an unhappy customer here.BRITTON C.

This place was a total rip off and a place full of crooks I was charged $110 for 2 hours literally. I went up the street and back and it was a bunch of hidden charges I would never rent from I haul again EVER..Hobart H.
We had some MAJOR issues with UHaul and do not feel like we will be returning customers. We made our reservation online and prepaid. After doing this we were promptly told that our pickup location was changed but we would be credited for the mileage distance. Okay. Not ideal but okay. Then HOURS later, after we had already dropped off a vehicle at the truck drop off location, we were notified our DROP OFF location had changed. So now our work and planning was for nought and my car was sitting in a lot for no reason. This created many issues and was a ridiculous way to treat a customer. You guys over booking on your end should not be an issue that your customer has to clean up. I had to sit on hold for thirty minutes and convince your customer service agent to change my drop off location BACK to the original location otherwise I would have to walk or Uber 2 miles just to get my car. What an insane and terrible experience. Never again.Colin P.
Truck was loud and seemed like it needed to be deep cleaned and sterilized especially with covid times. Only had the one truck at this location and with two storage places close by could of had more options for trucks, but overall great location and friendly staff.Sharon W.
Got to rental location on time. Took over an hour to finally get into the truck because someone on the uhaul end did not set up our reservation correctly. Could not get anyone on the phone to help. We were on hold for at least 50 minutes before we finally found an alternate number to call. This location was closed for the day so we could not go inside to get help. Until the 24/7 feature is fixed I would not reccomend unless renting during business hours where you can get help.Alex H.

Location and customer service was superb. So nice and a lot nicer than many others I've used. The truck could have been cleaned and it was damaged quite a bit all over from the passenger door not opening to a plate in the cargo area being broken in the floor. However the service was so good so ultimately happy.ADAM P.
Truck was dirty, tank was literally empty when I picked it up even though they had marked 1/4 full. Appliance Dolly strap was broken. The person also did not include insurance even though I had added it online, and he tried to talk me out of using it saying U-Haul was just trying to make more money from me....even though I had added it. I had to wait another 20 minutes for him to update the reservation, refund, and re-charge. When I told them about the appliance dolly issue and I asked for a refund, he was like "I'm not sure I can do that, I'd have to check", so I said "okay, please check," and then he said they would do it, but I'm sure I'll have to call to confirm.BEN C.

Truck was old and sounded awful. Had to take it on the tollway and wasn't sure I was gonna make it. Lots of damage. No dolly in the back for optional use. (I would have used it.) Rental location was small and no one seemed to have any urgency or know exactly what was going on. I was instructed to drop the key off in the key drop box.....which was unlocked and opened. The mileage rate was high for the size of truck. Next time I'll just get a penske.Kevin B.

This location put my card under the wrong contract not once but TWICE. Charged and gave me a contract with the incorrect name on Friday July 12,2019. This morning, July 15, 2019, charged my card AGAIN and filed my credit card under a contract that again DOES NOT have my name on it. Sandra Daley gave me her contact info on Friday regarding these issues and she has been extremely helpful however this darien location is unprofessional, doesn't use work ethics as they believe it is okay to charge a card that doesn't match a contract- which is illegal without authorization from the card holder and extremely difficult to work with.JAMIE F.

Only one headlight worked and the windshield wipers were shredded. We did not realize this until dark...in the rain. We had a 900 mile drive which included crossing the mountains. We could not just replace the headlight as it would have entailed replacing the assembly. I can't believe we paid $1500 for this kind of service. Very disappointing!!!Judith C.

This place caused me headache, and refused to allow me to purchase a truck cause i was having minor difficulty with my debit card. Had to call corporate to get this business to even rent me a truck. Also the truck gave me less than 10 miles per gallon and the transmission was jumping a over all unsafe, unsatisfied journey with uhaul. Im probably not gonna purchase a uhaul through Darien collision center again and may rethink renting another uhaul in the future. Completely and whole heartedly disappointed in this purchase.kishan M.
was ripped off on the mileage. I KNOW I only drove 24 miles with the truck and I was charged for 53 miles. I looked at the odometer when I first got in the truck, but the odometer was so tiny I couldn't read it.Also, hard to believe they would give me a truck with over 100,000 miles on it. Came here in the evening to pick a van up. First of all, the vehicle was literally all covered by snow, so I had to clean it in order to use, which was not an easy job. Luckily I had a brush, otherwise would not be able to make it. Secondly, when I got a passcode for the key box and opened it, there was NO KEY inside! Customer service (which is stated to be 24/7) was not responding. There was no other way but to cancel the rent. Basically, I lost my whole night outside at the cold weather because some worker forgot to put a key in the box or took it out on purpose. Don't go there after hours, folks.Artem C.
