The website was very hard to navigate, I had to call customer service multiple times. Then after many calls find out it was a long distance call. The website asked me to check in on line and upload my licence. I did at home before leaving. It asked me to to it again when I got there on my phone. The mobile web page would not open my photo album nor launch the camera. The van was open, I got in, no key! Called customer device again, they said I could not check in online (after doing it twice) and had to go to a store. Changing my booking online was very confusing. And when I re booked it at a closer location it just changed the times at old location. I had to get taxis there about back. I also assumed when you are being charged for mileage from the first kilometre it includes fuel, like other rental services. Buy the time I paid mileage and rental And all the long distance phone called and time wasted it was so experinsive. I would not recommend it to others and would only use it if it was the last choice. The inside was dirty when I picked it up too.

You can improve by advertising what the actual Rental Rate will be. A Rental Charge? what's that? but some made up random out of the blue charge that no one is ever going to expect. You advertise for $29.95 a day rental charge. you state $0.99/Km, but charged me $1.59/km. You added a CDW coverage? what's that? A insurance coverage, ok sure. So $1.59 opposed to $0.99/km, and a Rental charge of $59.90 opposed to 29,95. How do I rate U-Haul? Pitifully. You could improve by being honest. You could improve by being up front. You could improve by not being a sneaky shady business. Please take that to heart, and improve.

This is set up in a glass shop, selling glass pipes etc for marijuana. The front area smelled strongly of weed, which made me feel dizzy. I hate the smell of weed. It was a busy location, when I arrived there was 1 customer in front of me, and 2 others arrived while I was being helped. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice to deal with. I will personally not rent from this location again, even with the good service, just because I had trouble with the smell.

I did not take CDW coverage because I have the coverage on my credit card and somehow it was charged to me. Then I find that I was charged double the amount that it was shown on my receipt. Now I have to waste my time to contact U-haul GM to try solve the issues.

My only issue is that I booked for a particular location close to my move and it wasn't until I arrived that I was notified that that location did not have a truck available for me as they were closed. I had to pick up a truck at a different location much further from where I had originally reserved which cost me extra time and money to sort out getting to that location.

The host was not there when I arrived. Store was closed. There was a number to call, he arrived 5mn later. Then he was unpleasant and expedited the process as fast as possible and let me with the keys without doing a proper round check of the truck. Some scratches were not marked. I missed the text providing the link to do the check before on line. I will know for next time. There was no padlock to lock the back of the truck. The truck was not very dirty but far from beeing clean. I swept the dirt from the truck so it was cleaner when I gave it back. I had trouble to return the truck at the same location with the link as the host told me he'd rather not be there. The link was not working well, it ended up working after 20 attempts or more. I also called the service desk and was on hold twice for a total of around 40mn as the first agent who answered put me on hold and back on the waiting room. Last person was kind even if he didn't know what to do about the unstable link. The return process was very long, overall about 1h30 and that's not because I didn't know what to do . I had done it before at another location. I am definitely not going back to this location.

Dear U-Haul, This message is regarding Contract # 22279116. My rental experience was positive. The vehicle met my needs and was clean and reliable. However, I have one concern. On the receipt, I was charged the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) of $15.00. I was surprised to see this charge because I declined the coverage when I completed the online verification (where I agreed, based on the pictures, the vehicle was in the condition shown to me). Furthermore, I was not asked by the U-Haul agent whether I wanted the CDW coverage, which has been the standard practice of all U-Haul agents during my previous rental experiences. I am hoping, based on the above reasons, something can be worked out between U-Haul and me regarding the charge. At your convenience, please contact me regarding this matter. This man, Fred Cronin, needs a serious re-evaluation. He is completely unprofessional and is an absolutely terrible representative for U-Haul. He was terse and rude when I called to politely ask about missing extra equipment I paid for, he promised to deal with it "Tomorrow", which was unsuitable as that would've been after the return period, and I would've been hit with a non-return fee for the "missing" equipment on the rental. I arrived in person hoping to see it done in a timely fashion. He made up a very obvious lie about "Not being able to find my truck number" (Try looking up my name? Or appointments around the time?) and SHOUTED IN MY FACE over me as I was trying to explain the issue. Like a small child he kept repeating over and over at the top of his lungs that he wouldn't help me. I was half expecting him to plug his ears, too. He then hid in the back and slammed the door on me, continuing to yell through it and insult me too. I had to call the company line to get a refund on the equipment I never saw. I have never had a customer experience as terrible, unwarranted, or nonsensical as this anywhere. He wasn't even willing to hear the issue, much less do anything to solve it. The ease at which he lost his temper was incredible, and I am certain this is not the first time this has happened to a customer. He also told me unprompted that he was "Friends with the regional manager", which I assume was some sort of threat/gloating that he would get away with scamming me? I would hope that, if it's even true, the RM realizes keeping him on the payroll is a bad investment. His whole store reeked of weed. (It's a smokeshop... I had thought it was a glass repair place when I reserved. Did not see any photos.) I can only imagine he was relaxing in the back having a smoke and didn't want to do any work, so he took it personally when I showed up and was about to make him do his job. The 2 minutes it would've taken to fix the issue was too long for him I suppose. In addition to all this he was very slow in going through the initial process at pick-up. I and another customer were made to wait a long time while he repeatedly and loudly blamed the U-Haul website. I am pretty sure he was simply mis-entering data. As for the equipment condition, there were stains on the seats, mud all over the floor of the cabin, and the truck lurched and thunked every time it shifted down into 1st. It smelled a bit like a locker room, Axe body spray covering up sweat.

My only complaint is that I was charged for a dolly rental when I did not rent a dolly. I tried to phone the business, but it doesn't have a phone number. That put a bad taste in my mouth regarding this location.

I was charged for 100 miles when we only went 15 at most. Fred was friendly and easy to get along with but I was way overcharged. It was ultimately my mistake for allowing him to close out the contract without my being there. I hope the charge is yet to finalize and I'm overreacting here, but the way Fred moved the contract along without me, leaves me feeling unsatisfied.

We were scrambling to find a van on month end Sunday and these guys came to the rescue! Emily on the helpline who found us a nearby van and Fred at the pickup location were very helpful!! Only critique is that The 10ft truck wasn't a smooth ride and you felt every little bump in the road magnified 100fold but it got the job done. Thanks again you guys were lifesavers.

Worst customer service ever. The owner was terrible from start to finish. Always get great service from UHAUL but this experience was the absolute worst. If your reservation gets moved here like mine, cancel it and select a new location even if it means driving farther. Plenty of great locations to rent from but this isn't one of them.

The customer service at 1766 Renfrew was very bad. I have never been treated so disrespectful in my life while being provided a moving service: He actually told me to Shut Up! Personally I think he should be terminated for his behaviour. I would also like a breakdown of the overage charges, due to having to complete the move over 2 days vs. 1 day.

We had an amazing experience with this location, the manager was so funny and helpful! We got everything we ordered and he even helped us with our checkout when we were running behind schedule and didn't have time! I was unable to upload photos of drywall mud left by previous renter. (App only allows upload from live camera, not photos) I was overcharged on my rental, location owner was helpful in giving me direct number but 'can't do anything about the overcharge'. I had to call to deal with incorrect billing amount. Bill was eventually fixed, this is extremely frustrating, but seems to be typical with a U-Haul rental.

Friendly service and I really do appreciate the Uhaul online return where I can upload photos of the interior, location, mileage and gas level. It removes any potential for disagreement regarding damage or additional surcharges or mileage.

Fred at Dab Glass was Very helpful and professional. I cannot say the same for U-HAUL - I will never rent from your company again - first, the system allowed me to book a 4 hour rental starting at 10am when this location doesn't open until 11:00am - Fred kindly came in earlier to help get me going BUT by the time we waited for your website to process the rental, I wasn't able to leave the location until 11:15am - meaning I only had less than 3 hours to use the van returning it. Secondly, I couldn't change my pickup time to a later time on your website - it kept saying try again later or could not convert this reservation - so I tried calling your 1-800 number. I was on hold for 40 minutes from 10:05am to 10:45am until the line rang but no one answered - instead the recording said that I would have to wait Another 48 minutes before a person would be available!!! Thankfully Fred had just arrived, but couldn't change my reservation pickup time - he said that he would be opening earlier in future to keep this from happening again. Thirdly, I needed the full four hours for my move - so I called Fred to make him aware I couldn't return the cargo van until 3pm (traffic was horrible), he said that was fine. But I note that my Rental Charge was $39.90 not the $19.95 rate as advertised for four hours - and the collision insurance was $30 not the $15 I agreed to. I realize this weekend was a typical busy moving weekend, but your company should hire more call centre operators and I don't appreciate being overcharged and unduly stressed on an already stressful day.

The cargo area of the truck had lots of dirt, sawdust, woodchip debris inside, had to sweep it out before loading our boxes. The roof of the cargo area had a leak from the large dent, just behind the driver seating area, it was a rainy day today and our pillows got wet. Otherwise staff was efficient and friendly, got the truck checked in quickly, explained everything and had me on my way quickly.

I was charged for insurance $15.00 that I did not want or request at both time of reservation and pick up. Staff was very unfriendly and unprofessional. I would like my $15.00 and taxes refunded. I had not used the mobile checkout for Van return before. I took a picture of the odometer and fuel guages like the agent told me earlier. I then dropped the keys through the slot. Only then did I realize I had to go through a while song and dance regarding various photos. By then it was too late. Otherwise everything else was seemless. ¡Gracias!

I was charged fuel fee even though I filled the tank right back to what it was when I picked up. I called U-Haul and they issued a refund but I don't appreciate the owner at this location charging me in the first place.
