Lonnie was a really nice man but the trailer that I picked up from him was very old and in poor condition. He was working on a car when I arrived and had to stop to complete my rental. He wrote down the wrong trailer number which caused a 3 day delay in getting my return completed.Chris P.

Place needed a good cleaning. Had to wait about a half hour just for the printer to print our receipt. The U Hsul wasn't cleaned from previous people. Still had food, etc. in it. Inside of windshield needed a good cleaning. Two tires were low. Gas was supposed to be at a quarter tank when we picked it up, but was below. We will be trying Penske Rental trucks next time.CHARI M.

Did not have enough U-boxes. Had to go to a different location 1and 1/2 hour away to get more. I was overcharged compared to my initial quote and then the boxes were not picked up on time and I had to fight charges for another months rent. Will not use U-box againRothea K.

Gave keys to son, parents who own location were away. Was charged for extra days and fuel. The truck was returned w/in 24 hours with a full tank of fuel. $80 was refunded for extra days, but the fuel charge was not. I expect a refund of the fuel charge.Marissa R.

The location was not the problem Uhaul was the problem ! I reserved a truck and then I was told that the truck wasn't available ! So they put me in a truck that was for sale ! And what a piece of crap !!! Had to drive 15 miles to the place because I was told there was no other trucks for rent in my area ! Pulled out of my new neighborhood and there's a Uhaul location with 3 trucks for rent . So you guys charged me for 30 miles that I didn't have to spend . Over all the people at the location that we picked up the piece of crap was amazing to work with they tried everything to help . I'll look in too some one else the next time I need a rental and I'll make sure to let all my friends knowTERRY H.

I wish I would've known the equipment was not suited for my Toyota 4 runner limited and the straps barely fit over the tires. The dropdown menu shows that the trailer is compatible. The trailer blew out a tire most likely because the truck was too heavy for it and the tire straps released twice on a 850 mile trip. I wish the dealer gave me a heads up and I would have not rented it. The guy that came to replace the trailer tire said he wasn't surprised. Also, why do you find out the day before that your equipment has to be picked up at two different locations. I should have known that well in advance.Thomas M.

The Location was difficult to find, not actually on the road that it's address indicated. There were three different businesses with the name compact auto works in the location, only one was the Uhaul rental. The employee in the auto repair was kind enough to move the truck to the correct lot when I went to the wrong one.Karen M.

The folks at compact auto were be exceptional! Mary was very friendly and helpful. So was her son. I had a terrible experience with the main uhaul people prior to coming to them. Their service made up for all the other difficulties. Will use them next year for trip 2 to haul my 70' . Thanks again!COLIN W.
The worst experience of my entire adult life. I reserved a 15" truck at a specific location in Chester Virginia. I scheduled it at 1pm. I had a doctors appointment for my son at 2pm. I get to the location at 1250pm. I was told that that location only rents vans. And with no apologies or empathy was directed to go to a location which was in Petersburg, VA. By the time I found the other location, my son had already missed his appointment and I was so upset because I am getting surgery in days so I will be restricted from driving for a while. I call customer service to complain, they connect to the local regional without telling me they are doing so. Overall, I will never ever rent again with Uhaul and I will make sure everyone hears about my experience. The sad thing is this was my first time renting with Uhaul so they have left a bad taste in my mouth. Very bad taste.Irish O.

When I reserved the trailer on the uhaul website, it was not clear to me at all that there was a chance that the trailer would not be available at the location I had specified. I found out the day of the rental that the pick up location was actually 30 minutes away from the location I had originally chosen. You really should make this more clear during the reservation process. This is not a problem with the pick up site, this is a problem with your reservation process.jim S.
I was very unhappy that I rented a 10" foot truck at one location (jefferson davis hwy) and then subsequently had to drive 20 minutes in an opposite direction to Compact Auto Works to retrieve the dolly. Then, because I was traveling alone had to go back (with the truck and dolly ) to Jefferson Davis Hwy and get my car loaded. This was a HUGE inconvience. I understand that the dolly was located at a different location than the truck however UHAUL HAS TO DO BETTER. I wasted an hour 1/2 AND MILES just traveling from UHAUL location to UHAUL location to get all the items I needed. The representatives were very helpful however that did not compensate for me traveling and wasting time because the UHAUL locations were not consolidated on their assets. In the future, please try and send customers to ONE UHAUL location that may have all the things for them to rent not "separate" orders. Therefore customers are driving all over town. Im sure another rental company would have had all of their things sub-located in ONE location.KONTRESSA D.

The niceness of the people saved this from being a really bad review. I asked to pick the trailer up in Midlothian, VA, and yet you sent me to South Chester, a town over half an hour's drive away in the pouring rain. When I got there, their computer was down and I wasted another half hour watching them try to print out the paperwork. The proprietor and his wife get kudos for making a bad situation tolerable, but really? You couldn't find a 4x8 trailer closer to Midlothian?STEPHEN K.

When arriving I hooked up the auto transport. I asked The woman there about how to hook up my car to it since I had never used one before. She has No idea that she was just there to complete paperwork. I was only customer that day and she had called me to move pickup time up To make it convenient for her. If you are going to rent I haul equipment make sure someone is there knowledgeable in how to do it and answer any questions.TERRY S.

My initial experience was not good. I was upgraded from a 10 ft. truck to a 17 ft. truck. I was not notified ahead of time and this was a huge inconvienience since I was moving to a city. I spent a few hours trying to find a truck and had to drive around Chester to find a smaller one, which I could only get a 14 ft.JACQUELYN C.

The location is hard to find and the trucks are parked at the adjacent building, which makes it confusing. The gentleman who took my keys said that I may be liable for a $15 fee because the truck was "dirty" on the outside. I dont know how dirty I could've gotten the truck in the 5 hours in was in my possession. It was already dirty when I got it due to the previous days' snowfall.CARLOS M.
