The truck was filthy inside and out. I had to wipe down the truck myself because it wasn't clear by the staff whether the truck had been sanitized or not . although I use the online check-in all of my documents were required to be presented again. No instructions was given as to how to secure the dolly after hours so I placed it in the truck. I was charged three times the mileage that I actually drove.Marilyn S.

Customer service was outrageously rude. No one greeted at the door, I was â€œtalked atâ€ instead of conversing, the truck was filthy! And when I asked them to take note of the damages on the truck I was met with hostility and aggression and told no one cares about the damages. It is more a mailbox/shipping outlet vs a Uhaul store. The app gave me the option of a 0900 touchless pickup though the place does not open until 10am. Uhaul said this should not be an issue. When I showed up, the app would not allow me to start the pickup process until 10am. Anyhow, the truck had obviously not been cleaned. I wiped it down well because pandemic and the wipes were filthy. There was also a large nail in the driver side rear tire but did not appear to leak.MICHAEL T.

I reserved a unit on site myself. Got all the info mailed to me. I planed early move. Just to find out at 6 am my code wasn't authorized. Had to call them when I got to my unit a seal with a different number was on it. I checked the info again and now I was on the 5th floor on a different unit. I put my stuff on 331 anyway because that was the one I was shown and placed a hold on. When management arrived they at past 10 . Said we had to move our stuff back to the 4th floor and said if I didn't want my things to go missing I better do so. Until I argued to speak to the manager. By then I was stressed and mad. At the end they said keep 331. I was very late to drop off u haul van. Resulting in extra fees for another day. What a disappointment having to pay for other people's lack of professionalism.Victor L.
This location was great, however, I had a very upsetting experience prior to coming in to pick up the Cargo van. I called on Sunday to reserve a utility trailer. I was given a confirmation number and a recommended location for pick up at 8:30am. The person from Uhaul said that someone would call me in the morning to confirm. I arrived at 8am to the location in Playa Vista on Lincoln at the Shell Station and they said that they do not carry utility trailers there. I was majorly in a bind, as I needed to be in downtown LA by 10am to pick up something from someone who was leaving to go on a plane by 10:30am. I called UHAUL and they didn't know what to do so I ended up renting a cargo van from the location I picked up from on Washington. I didn't need all of that space and it went from costing me $18 for the trailer to $84 because of the mileage and fees. That is not cool. When I asked the rep from UHAUL if there was anything she could do for me, she said no, and to ask the store when I got there. Well obviously when I got to the store, they didn't really care about my sob story, so there were no discounts given. I have always been happy with UHAUL in the past, but this was not a good situation to deal with today on such a tight schedule and had I not have gotten to the first location early, I would have missed the pick up. I would like to be refunded for the mileage I had to spend, 54 miles to my card.Stephanie S.

I waited for two hours after my reservation time for my van. I had to call customer service several times. I was on the phone with customer care for over 20 mins. I was told I would get a $50 Credit but that was not applied. So I now have to call customer service and get this done. Waiting to see what that outcome will be.Carolyn M.
I had a scheduled pick up of a truck at 9am and wasn't able to get access to anyone in the store to retrieve the keys. The location was closed. After calling customer service, it wasn't until an hour later that someone showed up to give me the keys, making me late for all of the following appointments I needed the truck for. The location service hours are apparently not up to date in your system, and I shouldn't be able to reserve and pay for a truck I wasn't going to be able to have access to.Jasmine P.

While the location and equipment was great, I find it insane that the van rental went from $19.99 to over $60 for under 4 hours. I did rent a dolly as well, which I was happy to pay an additional cost for. However, it would be nice if U-Haul had rates that were less costly for a half-day or under purpose.Tracy D.

I rented a truck here and it was already claimed. I spent 1 hour trying to rent a new truck, which they claimed was available, and they were not able to process this. In addition, I was guaranteed the $50 reservation compensation if I did not get my truck and they did not agree to this.Alec C.

My issue was that I called to rent a truck from one location, then when I was sent the information about where to go it was in a completely different location, and they set the pick up time 3 hours EARLIER, than what I stated I could do on the phone. The woman on the phone said 3pm would be fine, but then I received a text saying the pickup was at 12pm, then when I showed up at the location I was suprised to find out that it was a partner and not even an actual Uhaul place (even though I originally called an actual uhaul location), I would have liked to have been informed that they were moving my location and that it would be a partner location. Also because they screwed up my pickup time, when I arrived they had no information about me because they had already deleted me from their system for "being late", luckily they still had the truck I needed when I arrived. The whole experience was very strange and confusing, it seems like uhaul has no interest in communicating with their customers, and has no care about the fact that I specifically chose the uhaul pickup location that I orginally called because it was the closest and most convenient one to where I needed to go, but they decided to switch it up on me with no explanation to me what-so-ever. Same exact thing happened to my roommate last time he used uhaul, pretty much a shitty company that does what's best for them and no one else, I really don't appreciate shady business practices like this, also tried to immediately sell me a larger truck than I needed on the phone, I just hate when companies clearly don't give a shit about you and they're trying to get one over on you any way they can without really explaining what's happening. I don't continue to support companies like this, in the future, I'll reconsider using uhaul because they just give me bad vibes all around. The people at this location were understanding and accomodating, so I'm giving 4 stars so their location doesnt get a horrible rating, because my real issue is with uhaul themselves, I know very well it wasn't there fault and that this is something uhaul does often. The worker didn't provide the dolly that I had requested, when I called him he apologized, said he was looking right at it and said he would take it out of my total payment but I just got billed and it's still in there and nobody has contacted me about it sense. I had a scheduled 9am Van pick up for a delivery a company 11:00am. I was given the van with ZERO gas and the back of the van was COVERED in dirt and soil. I had to drive the van ON EMPTY to the gas station to put gas in it AND I HAD TO CLEAN THE VAN MYSELF before using it for catering delivery. This is unacceptable. I was delivering FOOD for a catering client and couldn't have my food in contact with dirt for very obvious sanitary reasons. I was over an hour late to my clients location because of these delays. I wanted a full refund, but the people at Culver Mail Box refused and only gave my 50% discount.Amanda R.

I was notified at the last minute, onsite, that the van had a broken window. I was told by staff that they'd look into a discount for me due to this lack of safety. Upon returning the van, the female employee argued with me about a discount. Totally unacceptable! I ultimately received a $10 discount. Which is also weak on customer care in my opinion. I was given an estimate of $37 as I left based on 20 miles I thought I'd be driving. I drove only 18 and when I returned I was charged $49. The guy behind the counter could not explain to me why the increase occurred, only ably to answer with â€œI'm not sure why you were charged more, it's all computerizedâ€. The trunk/back doors don't open so you can only load through side. It was there first time renting a uhaul and no one was trained on how. They didn't know how drop off worked using the app of the website when it's after hours. When I booked from home it said it was a lot cheaper than when they told me how much it would be. They couldn't figure out why it was so much. They said they would call their rep next day and that he or they would call me to clarify what happened. Never heard from them.Courtney W.
