Pre check-in was a little redundant as some of the processes needed to be redone. More things also should have been available for the pre check-in like taking photos of yourself and your ID. The pick up process should be allowed to be started before pick up time so less rental time is wasted.Brian T.

My booking was for another location and in the contract it says an agent will call one week to confirm which no agent did my booking online said and still says to pick up at hwy 15 but i had to go to another location out of my way to pick the truck up so better organizational skills would help this companyTimothy Y.

I phoned uhaul supplier on Midland Ave, left a message and never heard back. I then called uhaul on Princess St and booked a trailer through whoever answer the phone. (Tues. Jan 18) I Rec'd a phone call from Princess St uhaul on Thursday late afternoon asking if I would mind switching my pick up location to midland Ave as Princess St. did not have the trailer, no problem as the location was closer for us. We arrived at Midland at 9:15, they were not aware of the reservation and their trailers were all iced in and not at all accessible, gentleman there only had one snow shovel and due to the extreme cold was not optimistic he would be able to get trailer out. I requested that they call Princess St, he called and explained the situation, Princess Street did have the trailer but they were all snowed and iced in and were not accessible. Frustration very high at this point 9:50! I requested that he call the provider on Steve Fonyo Dr which he was not aware of but located their contact info and called them. They had the trailer size we booked and their trailers were accessible. We were asked to go there to pick up our trailer, I asked at midland that we be able to return the trailer to either midland or Princess when we were done after hours and were told no way. Picked trailer up at Steve Fonyo, great customer service, the trailer had even been moved forward to make hooking up super easy. Just frustrated that neither of the other locations seemed at all bothered about this situation and neither even appeared to attempt to gain access to a trailer for us, so over an hour later, no discussion of partial reimbursement, just sent us elsewhere to get the trailer. The service at Steve Fonyo was super! Gentleman there was friendly and helpful!!!Lisa W.

My first truck had a check engine light on and instead of giving me another truck, he tried to fix it on my time. Also, Fill up the gas tank. Finally, after I entered the 2nd truck, it had 8 miles to empty on the dash. Had to add fuel before starting my journey. Not the best location I've been to.Paul A.

Add Jacks to trailer tongues. A 12 foot box trailer is extremely heavy and was very difficult to lift high enough get on and off a truck hitch. Lack of a $50 jack could result in serious and permanent injury to your customers.Walter K.

Uhaul COHERCED me to pay what my "emergency contact" owed (which wasn't even his rental, he was just the pick up/drop off person for the person renting, who died) for me to rent a trailer. That's EXTORTION! Not only was it embarrassing to be told I had to call a toll free number to fix outstanding issues IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS, I couldn't pay over the phone with my visa debit, the outstanding charge was more than my trailer rental and I was about an hour straightening out issues so I could rent a trailer so I could uphold my end of a contract! I will NEVER use Uhaul again!!!! I'd rather pay a premium each time for the name/company than be embarrassed publicly, coerced into making a payment that had nothing to do with me or even my emergency contact, extorted money (proceeds of crime, by the way) and pay for something that I didn't use/rent/have a contract for. I've been contemplating filing a police report! These are underhanded, dishonest and immoral business practices! I would appreciate a refund on the extorted funds!Christine J.
The location and in-person help was great, however when I tired to check out my vehicle using the mobile application I was denied due to an outstanding issue from 2019 that had never been brought to my attention and was supposed to have been resolved TWO YEARS ago. This held me up by half an hour. The other issue is that when I tried to return the van, the display said â€œchange engine oil soonâ€ and would not show the mileage and the full tank of gas at the same time. If it hadn't been for the helpful in-person staff member who stepped in and offered to complete my return for me, this would have been another very inconvenient wait. Imagine if I'd had to bring back the van after hours? I would have had no idea what to do and have to call in for help and been delayed again. If you're going to ask people to do mobile check in then please have better systems in place.Nadine P.
I usually rent from the folks at 2459 Princess Street in Kingston. Since the location at Steve Fonyo Drive was a bit closer, I thought I would try a rental from them. The vehicle itself was well used, but the interior of the driver's cabin was very dirty. There was a caution message on the dash about servicing the vehicle soon, The inside of the windshield was heavily coated with something which made driving difficult in the direction of the sun when it was low on the horizon. Driving at night with oncoming traffic was very difficult.. I never had a dirty vehicle from the other location, so I will resume taking my business to 2459 Princess Street.Mary S.

I was told about key drop off , might have been nice to know that while exhausted after long day of moving that I would have to do the app & photos thing. Also didn't like that it told me I had driven 600 miles on the return app when it was 600 kilometres, didn't know if I should continue w it..... so I don't think I got charged more because the bill said k but I'm unable to check , just would be nice if app was in k. ...Andrea B.

This location in kingston was good. However, dealing with uhaul over the phone on the operators services was a nightmare! I had 3 different services cancel my reservation when an email was sent to confirm such reservation, with guarantees . Super aggravating and added so much more stress to an already stressful, last minute move. Three days ahead of time I booked, to keep being renagged. Reasoning was, they can cancel anytime if the truck was needed! Yes. I needed it. This shouldn't happen when confirmation of guarantee is sent via email. Yet, only last minute an operator in Ottawa, (not Kingston where I live) helped me out and followed through on a truck. Pointed me to the truck I got from Steve Fonyo Dr. In Kingston. The gentlemen working there was helpful and pleasant.Sarah C.

The cargo area of the truck leaked. I could not tell where the water was entered but it had to come from the rain since there were no liquids in the load. The result was that some antique furniture that has been in the family for 70 years was ruined. I question using U-Haul ever again.JAMES H H.
