The lady at Calbecks arrived 35 mins late. The place was locked up. Reso was at 10. She said sorry when she arrived but argued with me when I showed my frustration on being behind in my rental already. First time I used a Uhaul retailer terrible experience. I also called Uhaul while waiting for this lady they gave me the number to the local area. I WAS HUNG UP ON 2 TIMES. then a guy named Casey finally listened.Robbie B.

The manager was rude, verbally abusive. I called and filed a complaint waiting on a management call. She was not there for my pick up. After that she called and made me the victim â€¦ she said my cc was cc on file and if I didn't not give it to her over the phone she was going to call the cops on me a number of times. I told her I was not comfortable giving it to her with her attitudeâ€¦ her response was to call the cops and yell. She also used profanity in her store while I was the phone in front kids and customers and in fact I heard her tell her staff to kick the family out and refuse them service. If I didn't need the truck that day I would have had her call the cops and left the keys on the ground for her to pick up I was disappointed and dismayed by the service and attitude I received by the lady. If she represents U-Hual it is something you might want to think twice about.Kevin F.

I was origjnally "guaranteed" a truck in Hamilton. Unfortunately they called 2 days before saying the truck was damaged and that the only truck avail was in Brantford.. Good news is I had a truck for my move. It was quite incinvenient having to go to Brantford (2 hours out of my day, plua having to drive my vehicle that distance as well.. Everything worked out and my truck was ready. Someone was there to check me in and make aure I was goid to go which wqs great. No issues with this location.Mike R.

Pick up was brutal. Check in lady was rude. Uhaul office changed my pick up location and she was telling the office guy on the phone that I didn't fill anything out correctly. Which I did because I booked online a month before. Then she was saying I didn't upload my driver's license and I showed her the link which stated that I did and she continued to tell me I didn't do it. Throughout the process she was miserable towards me. She was a total bitch. Not happy at all.Allan M.

So checking in was ok. It wasn't until I went to hook up the auto transporter that things went sour. First, for some reason, the trailer was parked nose first into the fence. I asked for a dolly or something to move it and the lady working in the store said they didn't have anything. When I asked how I was to get hooked up she just shrugged. So I had to try to move it by hand. Eventually got to where I could get my truck to it and see it's full of sand and gravel. The wheel tie down straps are frayed at the ends and worst of all the safety chains to hook to the truck aren't even attached. They're just draped over the tongue so I have to reattach them. The trailer has obviously seen better days and one of the front facing marker lamps is completely broken. Also, the anchor chains on the trailer itself were tied in knots. I've rented a few of these auto transporters before and this is by far the worst experience I've had.Jordan E.

The attend was nice and friendly. The gas was below half to start but I could not go back to tell her because it was closed. Upon returning the vehicle the drop off spot was different then stated. She specifically told me to bring it back to Murray but it said Dundas.i tried to call uhal customer service I was on hold from the start over an hour I had to give up. Disappointed in preliminary servc. Ordered truck 20' almost 2 wks in advance, 2 days before told none available. Person was rude, kept telling me she knew that none available right frm start. Tried to explain she wasn't there when did over the phone booking & then within 1 hr at store on Up Wellington to confirm & change size & nothing mentioned about no availability. Like I said rude & then said 15' available in Brantford, when I tried to ask if this just came available would it be possible for the 20' to become available in next few days it was take this or nothing. Do you want it or not was what she said. No way to do business. I have rented quite a few times in last few years & nothing like this whole process has ever happened before, not sure I would rent again frm you! I wanted to change drop off as I crossed the border and was in Canadian quarantine.There was a much closer uhaul dealer I could return truck fillip and ride my bike back to my house. Not helpful almost condescending.I could ride my bike from there and enjoy taking my time back to my home! I'm 67 yrs old! There are hills and probably 7 miles up hillS to return home It's called Mt Pleasant for a reason:( The truck was great the pickup was friendly but return was not a great experience!Leslee M.

I booked the U-Haul for 10am the lady at the location was approx 40-45 mins late getting had a brief 30 sec conversation with her she got in my face and told me she would give me the keys and to rent a truck alarm where needless to say I had to call the police She disrespected them after repeated attempts by the police officer we finally got the now we are at approx 1pm when I finally got the keys I would not recommend this location to anyone moving is stressful enough let alone dealing with a crazy lady have been spreading the word to everyone no one deserves to be treated the way I wasKIMBERLYANN I.

Send them to another location for pick up and drop off. The staff at this store was busy disciplining her 3 yr old and playing a game on her laptop to process our pick up, we didnt sign anything, show any ID or receive any contract paper work. Then after when it came time to receive the invoice the amount was wrong as well as the recorded deposit amount. She was rude and in a big hurry to leave because she had left her 3 yr old at home to come close the store, she refused to look into my account for the correct refund amount. Her district manager for uhaul eventually figured it out and I got the correct refund amount .TAMARA K.
They gave me a diety truck and i power washed the truck and they still charged me for cleaning... after when i was trying to talk to her she walked away. Never again will be renting at this location... worst experience ever in my lifeFAISALIDREES Q.

First of all I booked the uhual for pick up at happy Variety. Got there at my scheduled time. Truck was not there and was told have to wait and pick it up at another location. I was upset and said that it was ridiculous. The man there was not even going to give me the truck said it is canceled no truck for you. I was livid. Eventually he agreed to give me truck. Went to calbecks she stopped twice and did other things. And waited there to actually get truck for about 20 minutes so 10 am appointment and did not get truck until close to 11. The woman receiving our information was busy renewing a personal subscription and would constantly interrupt the conversation with us to finish her phone conversation. She did not go to look at the vehicle afterwords but instead constantly sent us outside to take pictures of different parts of the vehicle (dashboard, outside of vehicle, inside of vehicle). The store was very dirty and felt sketchy. They were not abiding my the COVID guidelines as there was no glass between us and the cashier and she was not wearing a mask. There was no separate entrance and exit, etc. Additionally, to give context on its â€œsketchinessâ€ It was a convenience store that sold woman's delicates... Additionally, the entrance to the parking lot was too steep and my personal vehicle bottomed out while entering the parking lot. What should have been a quick drop off took a very long time and I felt very uncomfortable.Jonathan D.

I rent a 10ft TRUCK, they charge me 15ft size money ??jin G.
I was told by a customer service agent on the phone a few weeks prior to the pickup that the equipment would be disinfected after the prior customer dropped it off and before I picked it up. This did not happen. I had to disinfect the entire vehicle myself since it was not done and there is a pandemic. I know it was not disinfected prior to my pick up because the person in line directly in front me dropping off the keys was the prior customer of the same vehicle. The customer service agent at Calbecks did not leave behind the desk at all between receiving the keys from the prior customer and giving them to me. No disinfection took place. Also, I was told that the reason I had to go to Brantford to pick up the vehicle even though I had reserved it in Hamilton (by a second and different phone customer service agent) was because the vehicle had already been dropped off there 2 days prior to my pick up. Again, this was not the case since the vehicle was returned mere minutes before I picked it up. The agent told me I could get the vehicle at any time of day on the day of my reservation which, in the end, I was unable to do. However, if I had arrived at 10:00 am as suggested by the agent I would have been about 8 hours early. Lucky for me I couldn't go early and in fact was 1 hour later than I anticipated being since I had to drive to another city instead of walking down the street from my house like I had planned when I made the reservation in Hamilton originally.Tim Z.
