Arrived at appointment time. Storefront was unlocked. No one was there. After calling a manager phone number the employee showed up 30 minutes after appointment time without a word of explanation or apology.

At this location the person there did not try to help me unhook the trailer. Just said "drop it off down on the grass by the other trailers". I unhitched it and moved it around while he was inside talking to his friends out of the cold. No receipt was offered to me.

When I arrived at the location the clerk appeared to be so stoned that he couldn’t stay awake. After 4 attempts to get him wake up I returned the equipment online via my phone and dropped the key in the after hours box. Very poor experience.

Dealer leased my trailer to another customer - under my reservation and phone number. He did have another trailer available and worked with me to get that one. Right front tire was early flat. Dealer had no compressor to add air. Left turn signal was not working. Dealer had no replacement bulb.

The U-Haul representative did not know how to process your order, provide the keys to the truck, or anything about the truck or process. Very disappointed. The movers we hired through U-Haul did not show up or even call.

I reserved a UHAUL for 8 am in Radford,VA. The phone call we got the night before pick up told us a truck was not available in Radford and we would have to drive an hour to pick up a truck in Galax,VA. We drove to Galax and found out that the pick up location did not open until 10am! This was a huge inconvenience! Then I got charged for extra miles when I dropped the truck off! This was not good customer service.

My initial pick-location was supposed to be in Vinton, VA. This location did not work out because the owner of the business had not set up the truck for 24/7 pickup like they were supposed to. Although Cafe Vapes offered a pleasant pickup experience, I was very disappointed with the overall pickup experience and the multiple hours of extra driving it cost me.

I was scheduled to pick up truck at 10:00 on 10 Jun 2019. We drove 35 miles south to Galax VA and the place was closed. We had difficulty contacting U-Haul and when I did they stated I should have picked it up on 9 Jun 2019. I was not given a code for the pickup and after an hour I finally received authorization. I then proceeded to drive back North 35 miles to load and then had to drive 35 miles back o Galax (total 70 miles wasted time and gas). If U-haul had notified me that I could pick the truck up on 9 Jun, maybe my son, granddaughter and grandson would not have had to take time off from their jobs with loss of pay. I received excellent customer service in Dublin and Sumter SC. I cannot say I received good customer service when I picked up the truck. Also, the vehicle had a bad order when we picked it up.

The individual working at this location didn't even get out of his chair when I went in to the store. This wasn't too much of a bother, I didn't mind handling the trailer disconnect myself. But he asked ME if there was a spot to park the trailer, he didn't even try to tell me where to park it. I found a spot, disconnected, picked up my receipt. Very polite gentleman, but came off as lazy while I was there. I'm not saying he is lazy, but it sure seemed like it.

First let me say that I rented a truck in January and everything went smooth. but this time I got a message the day before pickup that the truck I reserved was not available at my selected site and I would have to go 1.5 hours to pick up a 20 foot truck. I spent the next 3 hours on the phone trying to arrange an alternative. this includes 20 minutes of hold time on the phone, then 30 minutes with a rep that had to "ask an associate for help but the associate was on another call. I had to request a 15 foot truck at my location. when I called the location, they said they had a 15 foot truck but the uhaul associate on the phone said it wasn't there. I had to convince her it was available. Then they got the pickup time wrong and I had to make 2 more calls to get that right. When I went to pick up the truck, I signed in to the u haul app and got a message that my credentials had not been approved. I called 1800 go uhaul and was on hold for 12 minutes when the app finally said I was approved. 3 hours on the phone is unacceptable and if there was an alternative I would have went elsewhere for a rental.

Trailer was covered in stuck on mud. I took it to a diy carwash prior to using it, because I didn't want mud clumps falling off and damaging the vehicle I was trailering.

The door on my truck was difficult to close. It appeared to have been refurbished at some point.

Upon arrival, truck was not parked where it was stated it would be. Used the online truck share option, and truck was stated to have been parked in the business's paved, upper parking. Truck was not there. Truck was located after searching in a muddy field over an embankment from the business. In order to complete the pick up process, the truck had to be inspected and photos taken with my phone. In order to do so, I had to walk through the mud and soggy field to get to the truck. Wasn't sure it would even make it out of the field. Once I got the truck out, I was at that point able to check the cargo area. I had ordered an appliance dolly, a utility dolly, a furniture dolly, and 2 dozen furniture pads. None of these items were with the truck. I was supposed to pick the truck up at 9am, 3 hours before the business opened. After the ordeal of locating the truck and going through the pickup process, it was almost 10am when I was able to leave with the truck. I contacted Uhaul who informed me I had to wait until the business opened at noon in order to possibly receive the missing items I had ordered and already paid for. I had a tight schedule to keep for the day and went on the begin loading the truck. I contacted the business at noon who advised I could return and pick up the missing items at my convenience. I sent some friends to get the items. The business was not able to provide a furniture dolly for which I paid $10 for and was never refunded by Uhaul. I last rented from Uhaul 10 years ago, and that experience was one for the record books. After this experience, it is obvious to me that renting from Uhaul will never be a stress-free, easy experience, and there will always be some sort of complication or incompetence from the people they have renting out their equipment. Next time I'll rent from a local business that owns their own equipment, or from one of Uhaul's competitors.

Fuel level was @ 1/4 tank when I picked up unit. It was left off with 1/4 tank on level ground. Parking lot was sloped down in rear and may have gave an erroneous reading of less than 1/4 tank. But when I parked it the gage was dead on 1/4th tank. I was charged an additional gas charge of $10.00 fuel and a $30.00 service charge for less than 1/4 tank. The service at Café Vapes is crooked and unfair. I am considering alerting the BBB.

Staff was super cooperative even when the computer system wasn't cooperating very well, found a work-around when the payment system wouldn't work, and were efficient and friendly throughout the process. 5 Stars!

I will never recommend uhaul to a friend ever again!! This was the most horrific experience ever with uhaul and I can't even get ahold of customer service to complain or get an explanation why I was charged more than double!!

U-Haul switched our truck on us twice for the location. Didn't give us any credit for it because the extra 120 miles took care of the getting the truck. Which we had to drive an hour away after receiving the message 15 mins. Before we left to get our truck. Very unhappy with u-haul but the place we picked it up at was awsoume! The man explained everything and was very nice.

The one big way to improve your service is to have your equipment at the location that was given on the reservation system. I made a reservation several days ahead of time, then I had to drive over one hour from the original location to get the equipment I needed.

This location while it was clean and nice, the employee was a bit ridiculous in that the extra mileage charge was 4 CENTS, literally 4 pennies!! The employee did not even offer to waive that, seems to me that for that amount it could have been waived since I put more gas than it originally had, brought the truck back in very good condition and it was sitting in his parking lot the night before it was due. It cost more to process the charge than it was worth. He would not even allow me to give him the 4 pennies my card had to be charged. I think that is a bit ridiculous!!
