I leased a storage unit here for three years, and my experience was below average. There was a rat infestation, which was brought on by another unit storing food. My insurance didn't cover infestations, and everything in my unit was destroyed by rat feces, droppings, and gnaw marks. When I tried to claim insurance, I was told infestations are not covered. The storage complex should inform tenants about this insurance gap. When I discovered the mess, rat feces were pouring out of my unit. The front desk clerk's response was to offer me a broom-completely inadequate customer service when paying rent for a climate controlled unit. I've had multiple encounters with their subpar service, and as someone who works in hospitality management, I can say I would never hire most of their staff. Only one associate went out of their way to help me clean out the unit. Ultimately, I let my unit go to auction because I didn't want to deal with the mess. I won't be referring anyone here or returning for future business. Additionally, when I once forgot my pad lock key, I asked to borrow bolt cutters and was told it would be a $50 charge despite another co-worker being willing to let me use them for free. They called their manager, who I believe is the owner's son, and I heard him on speakerphone insist on the $50 charge, stating they don't lend them out. Yo

This has been the worst ever experience out of my life with a storage. First of all I put my belongings in storage in 2021. I moved out of the state for two years with my stuff in the storage for two years. I come back Monday, April 29th to remove my stuff from the storage and I told the storage company I was moving my stuff out that same day. The guy at the front desk of storage facility was nasty and rude. The storage apparently at some point had a rat infestation because all of my belongings in my unit was covered in rat feces and urine and instead of helping me in anyway the guy at the front desk argues with me and says they facility is always maintained well. if that's the case, I wouldn't have had all of my belongings destroyed by their rat infestation. I do not recommend this facility. It is disgusting and they will argue with you if your stuff is destroyed in their facility because of their nasty rat infestation!! Do NOT rent !!!

My only complaint would be in the closing of my unit, the months expense is not prorated in any way. I paid on the first of the month and moved out on the 3rd of the month and I will not be refunded even a portion of my $200 rent I paid.

When unloading unit discovered rodent damage to items. We had person on staff inspect and he was embarrassed!! We followed all instructions for storage given at start and employee agreed we did everything right Most disappointing is that we have not heard from owner with apology or explanation Luckily we took out insurance but very disappointed Tom & Charleen Astle

Our trailer with all of our belongings will arrive at Brock tomorrow morning. Although we have not yet moved our things into it, I must say that the customer service has been excellent. Geri was so super nice and helpful. During moving situations it is so nice to be treated well. Every pleasant gesture is a blessing. The confidence and assurance that we would be taken care of lifted so much off of our backs. Traylor was also very professional following up to let us know that we were all set and that the size of the unit was perfect for us, etc. Nelson helped me confirm what to do tomorrow morning as my husband will not be there. All in all, this has been a wonderful company to deal with and I see why our real estate agent suggested we use them. Carolyn Kuks

Over the past year+ I have felt as though my son's belongings were completely safe in SC while we are in Virginia. It is clean and the few times I had to interact with staff was great. They were quick to respond to messages and even during the initial move in the uhaul was a plus! His move out was also great. I will definitely use Brock storage again .

We had moved all our items into two storage units while we were looking for a house and had no issues until june of 2022. We discovered what appeared to be rat droppings in our outdoor unit. I expressed concerns to the office and they said the exterminator told them it wasn't rats but large mice. But aren't rats considered large mice? Anyway about two weeks later I discovered evidence the "large mice" had made it into our inside climate controlled unit. The office said they were aware and knew of people that had brought food in their unit which caused the rat issue. The smell of urine inside the hallways of the building was over bearing and definitely a health hazard. If you look up you can see dried urine on the cross supports and holes chewed in the ceilings. At that point I had enough and started looking to moving out. Once I was able to find a new place to move our belongs we asked if they would offer a discount on a moving truck and the answer was no. It took us (4 adults) 13hours to pull everything out, wiped & disinfect all our totes and load the trucks with the items they didn't distroy. We uncovered 4 dead rats and one alive one that ran out when we moved a dresser and ran up the wall into the next unit. The amount of damage they caused to our belongings was more then we could have imagined. They chewed many pieces of good pine and oak furniture, saturated furniture, chairs and belongs in urine. Even though we had enough insurance (u-hauls insurance) to cover the nearly $20k in damage the insurance is refusing to pay no more the $6k for our damaged items. The owner showed zero remorse and refused to come look at our unit so we can show him the issues and damaged items. We had to pay an additional 2 months on the storage unit to keep the damaged items while we waited for insurance to give us the ok to discard the items and the owner wouldn't even give us a discount. We just got the ok from insurance to discard the items that were damage and when we went back there was even more damage, so it seems the issue is only getting worse. They are still offering units to customers in that building because as we were moving out someone was moving in next to us. I would never offer this storage facility to anyone or any u-haul affiliated storage facilities to anyone ever! They don't seem to care about keeping their customers belongs safe.

This facility and it's staff were exceptional. It can be stressful moving and finding a place that makes you feel comfortable. This was convenient, clean, helpful and can assist with other service needs. We needed a second storage bin and they did not blink an eye, helped us and gave us options. You might have a need, for a different truck, trailers, moving staff, just ask. Los recomiendo, son excelentes. They are very personable and friendly. Thank you Brock owners and staff

I would have given all yeses but there is a BIG mouse/rat problem. Having food vendors/suppliers storing food, will draw them to the facility. This was not the case the first 10 months I was a customer. I hope you can correct the situation.

I would and have recommended this facility. My unit was an inside unit the automatic lighting worked perfectly and the floor and isles were always extremely clean and clear. On my move in and out the staff was available and friendly..

Didn't mind using Brock Storage, helped us college students out over the summer. But when we came back in August we found some animal poop and we were not pleased it's this, especially since we didn't have any food or anything to draw animals to our storage. Also did not appreciate the price change 2 months into our time in the unit resulting in us pay more than we expected. Otherwise good and Jennifer was wonderful and very helpful

We used Brock Storage for several months as we were waiting to find a home. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The facility is very clean and easily accessible. It is also very secure. I would recommend Brock over any in the area .They are a five star storage.

Brock Storage is wonderful to do business with. The units are very well lit and very clean. I have paid for climate controlled units in the past only to find out the a/c only came on when someone was in the building. I actually had melted candles in my boxes. Not so with Brock. They are an excellent facility. The staff are very personable.

We were very happy with our entire experience with Brock Self Storage. The entire staff were very friendly and accommodating in everything that was transacted. I could not believe how SUPER clean the facility was, inside and out. As far as I am concerned this is the only place to go for your storage needs.
