Beware of construction

When I signed my contract is was to drop Off at a different location. I was called and told to go to this location instead because the other one could not receive the vehicle I rented. Not only was it 45 minutes away from where I was but it was a self serve return in a horrible neighborhood under major construction. It was not made clear that this would be a self serve return. There was a very large U-Haul place literally 10 minutes from my location that was open 7 days a week 24hours a day . Right off the freeway.

Construction on central made it hard to get to. It was damn mobile home park with no detailed location. Never in my life will I use this location.

Check in through your app took way too long. Most of that could have been taken care of ahead of time. We had several people waiting around for us to pick up the truck. Would think twice before we did that again

I rent U-Haul's several times a year for work. I have done mobile pick up before (however I don't like it because it usually leave me standing in the heat in some unknown area) but this is the first time ever I have been asked for the additional verification. If I would have known this was potentially going to happen I would have had my passport with me or had someone on stand by for a call. I am the Executive Director of a very small nonprofit so I didn't have an employer that could verify and I didn't have the lease agreement easily accessible. Mobile Pick-Up in Phoenix in the summer is miserable. Maybe there is another way to verify or to ask for that ahead of time. This is also the second time in a week that I have rented a U-Haul and both times my requested location has been switched day of due to issues with a truck. This adds an additional layer of complication to the process.

This was the WORST experience I have EVER had getting a truck from Uhaul! Sending me to a crack infested location to pick up .. having “Bob” confirm my reservation which NEVER included picking up a key with an app on my phone. Wasted almost 2 hours of my time dealing with this is inexcusable!

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the vehicle. It was dirty. Ie. Dirt on the floor, food and drink drippings in the counsel, seats had crusted stuf (not sure what it was) windshield smeared with dirt on outside and film on the inside, and a broken mirror (safety hazard). If I wasn't in a hurry to use this vehicle I would have NEVER rented it for over $700. I have pictures if necessary. I, actually, left it CLEANER than I rented it.

A belt squealed the whole ride while loaded. Cracked windsheild, and even after dropping off on time, a little early I was charged another day and waiting for a refund. Yet again another sub par experience

I reserved a truck to be picked up in the Scottsdale location 14 days in advance. The day before pickup I was told that I had to pick up at a location 40 miles away. While I was credited those miles, I used my valuable time to have to drive the extra 80 miles. You should've ensured I could pick up where I requested or offered the miles and compensation for my time and expenses to go the extra 80 miles.

The following has nothing to do with this specific location: I had to go to three different places in three separate towns to pick up a trailer at the agreed upon date. The last minute disorganization on uhaul’s part was ridiculous. The return was equally poor. I dropped it off at the original agreed upon location, only to discover when filling out the return paper that they changed the location without telling me. When I called, I was threatened with a fee for “wrong drop off” and had to spend 30 minutes on the phone, getting passed to three different people to get the situation righted. Uhaul’s customer relations are a joke, for 700$ and all the headache that came with it, next time I’ll just buy a trailer and re sell it after use.

I would never again recommend U-Haul to anyone ever. You guys made it too difficult just to rent it for 4 hours. And I was over charged. I’d actually be reporting this to the better business bureau. This company is absolutely horrible.

Bob was a nice guy. My problem was not with pickup location. It was with uhaul's catfishing. They had no problem taking a reservation for a truck with a pickup location 2 miles from my house. The day before my pickup they call to tell me there are no trucks and I need to drive 25 minutes one way to pickup my truck. Then, the pick-up location does not have the hand truck I requested and I have to use an appliance dolly to haul boxes. The truck was gross. It was filthy outside and smelled like motor oil and body odor inside. The vehicle rattled like a can of marbles. I'm sorry there is a vehicle shortage but that's your entire business model. Figure it out.

Don't schedule a pick up and especially a return after hours!! It's a HUGE PAIN IN THE BUTT!! I spent an hour trying to take pictures of the odometer and gas/fuel level and upload them to the app to return the truck properly. Clearly the photos were fine to see the info. But the app would not accept them. I finally called customer service # and waited 20iah mins for someone to get to me on the phone and check my truck in on her end and I left the keys in the drop box. But your 24/7 rental app SUCKS!! Sorry but it got me so mad and frustrated. All I wanted to do was return the truck with no problems so I didn't get more money charged to my account.

I definitely have an issue with my receipt. I was charged an after hours fee of $20.00. Upon returning the share truck before expiration of rental time. The Uhaul app was not uploading the fuel and odometer picture for me to complete the rental return. I tried uploading over 10 pictures but the app kept taking me back to the beginning of the entire process each time. I was at the return location for over 30 mins to complete this return which included waiting on the phone to speak to a customer service representative. Each Uhaul rep said that they would place my call notes on this transaction so I would avoid an after hours fee since i did return the share truck and attempt to return check in before 4:30pm. Nobody appeared to read the notes left by the reps on my account. Due to Uhaul's faulty mobile app and being on hold waiting for a customer service rep to help me with this issue they charged me $20 for completing the return 30 mins past the expired time. I even emailed Uhaul my issue to remove this over charge fee and instead resolving this they send me this email to rate them. Shows me they don't listen or acknowledge customer complaints to resolve issues. It's just BIG BANK take little bank however they can.

I was told I put 400 plus miles on this truck when I didnt I returned this truck 11/4/2021 now the card used has charges in the amount of 900 plus dollars being declined when none of this info is true and the account is not mine it is my mother's and I don't not authorize the use of that card for any further charges pertaining to this matter and all payments have been made on this truck the amount was taken on a daily as well as at the end of my rental so someone is lying

The truck showed a full gas tank. I drove the truck only 10 miles. I filled the tank expecting to put in a gallon or two. It took 8 gallons to fill the tank which cost $30.00. I want to be reimbursed $25.00. Contact me at 9703091707. Thanks. Myles

First off, the rear outside passenger tire had a nail in it at time of pickup and the tire pressure was low. I had to monitor the tire pressure every stop over a 2,500 mile cross country trip and it was flat by the time I got to my destination, not cool. Missing interior lights, wipers were broken, truck leaked when it rained. For $2,700.00 I honestly expected a better truck than this. There was a much newer and safer 20’ truck and I asked the business owner if I could please have the other truck and he informed me that “The newer truck is for local rentals only.” Again, I understand the business logic behind this but not when you’re risking people’s lives. The newer/safer trucks should be reserved for cross country trips and keep the older and less reliable trucks in town.. Does U-Haul need to see headlines like “Moving truck has multiple blowouts on interstate leaving several injured or dead” before they intend on renting safer trucks? The gentleman working was very nice and we were on our way quickly, but maybe too quickly… Lower your rates or improve your fleet.

The storage facility gentleman, Kevin, at the original drop off location, was really great! Super helpful and very friendly. He gave me directions to the changed drop off location. However, the man at the drop-off location was not friendly. He was very short and didn't seem interested in assisting at all. When I picked up the tow and loaded the car I was able to get assistance and advice from the employees, but not this guy. He wouldn't even come out and assist with any advice or offer advice while inside and said that I should take it somewhere else to get the car off and then come back. I was not impressed, did not feel comfortable at all and would definitely never suggest to anyone to go there. The drop off itself was done after the shop was closed and was super easy. Just followed the directions from the online prompts.

This was one of the easiest most convenient experiences I've ever had and I am so thankful I was in a bind the movers I hired flaked and I was able to go pick up Au haul and move all my furniture within a matter of minutes that reservation was so easy to book and it literally saved me and I am so thankful for that

Very nice person I worked with, but the cab was dirty inside; crumbs, sticky remnants, etc. there was inclement weather in the forecast and he didn’t explain anything about the truck, didn’t check for damage, just handed me the keys.

It was an odd dropoff location. We arrived just after 6pm to return the truck and had to drop our keys in the box. The location and the lack of other trucks/trailers in the area made us feel a little unsure about where to park the truck and leave it.
