I had reserved and confirmed a trailer 20km away and 3 hours earlier. My reservation was changed without consulting me. At the new location (Blue Water) the trailer I wanted was not available. I rate you highly unreliable on equipment and location. I realize that some of this is out of your control. Your staff are excellent however.

We were sent to this location from the Owen Sound store. We received a notice on Sunday after hours (just 14 hours from pick up) that you had changed our pick up location. It was a nightmare! Why did they do that after hours, with no lead time on a Sunday!!!! I actually lost money on a move as I had people waiting on route to Toronto. Spoke to 5 people to help me. Not good business practice U-Haul! I understand making a change in pick up...but without ample notice AND when your office is closed???? No. Did not bode well with me.

Our Experience on September 8th with U-Haul – Reservation # 27682328 With the great customer service we received leading up to our pick up date, we thought our experience was going to be a good one. Unfortunately it did not begin on a positive note. We arrived at the Vaultra Self-Storage in Grimsby 5 minutes early to be sure we were on time for our 9am pick up. We waited for 15 minutes before finally calling the 1-800 # on our contract to find out why no one was at the office. We were not the only one waiting to pick up a truck! When we called the U-haul office to find out what to do or who to call, the gentleman on the phone said that all he could do is find us another place to pick up a truck in the area as he had no idea who owned the storage facility/U-haul drop off/pick up. We found this strange as the person who runs the storage unit would have to be registered with U-haul…correct? He didn't offer to do some investigating to call us back with an answer, so the conversation came to an end. What was the point of us driving around finding a truck when were at the right place, looking at the truck that was ours, but just no way to get it. Finally we took things into our own hands and found an emergency cell# for Vaultra Storage. When we called the number, the gentleman answered the phone saying he was late getting there because his son was having trouble logging into his virtual classroom on the first day of school. He encouraged us to try the mobile app to get our key which he said was in the lock box. That was the help he offered when we arranged to pick up the truck with a personal check in. We relayed the message to the other gentleman who was also waiting. He tried as we did to get the code to open the lock box for our keys. Neither of us had any luck. It is now 9:30am. We were to pick up our truck and be on our way back home to load our truck to head to Hepworth. Minutes later, the gentleman called my cell and said he was on his way to the U-haul depot to get us our truck. He came, went to give us the keys and said “Oh…this truck hasn't been ‘return processed yet', I'll have to clean it, inspect it and get it ready for you”. Are you kidding me? So this means if the keys were able to be taken from the lockbox, we would have left the store with an unclean truck with mileage not recorded. So….by the time my husband and I got home it was just after 10am for a 9am pick up of our truck. This put us behind an entire hour for the rest of the day. We were told our contract would be in the glove box…it was not there. Fast forward to 5:30pm. It is now time for us to return the truck to the depot in Wiarton. We planned on returning it in person the next day, however our plans changed with where we were staying and we would have had to drive an hour out of our way to bring it up to Wiarton, so we decided to do the mobile drop off. We knew exactly what to do because we had watched the video. My husband even went to the nearest gas station and filled the truck with $10 more than he should have. We begin to follow the instructions on our phone, which by this time because of using google maps is losing power. We take all the photos we need of the inside, cab, gas gauge etc. BUT, we cannot get the steps to go past the ‘location' of where we are. We even got Siri involved, but apparently our location services was turned on, but we could not get past this step. At this point, my husband noticed the 1-800 number on the door. We decided to call since we could not get the drop off to complete on our phone and we were running out of juice on the phone. I called the number. “The number you have reached is not in service!” Again…are you kidding me? Your help line is out of service? So….I took a photo of the notice with the number on the door, grabbed a pen and the only piece of paper we had on us, and wrote a note to explain what we had done to the best of our ability, locked the truck and put the keys in the lock box. Our experience was frustrating to say the least. We will not be using or recommending U-haul to anyone we know moving or needing to rent a truck. Mandi & Bob Neiser.

I didn't appreciate having to sit there for almost 40 minutes waiting to be "approved" when I had filled everything out ahead of time, a couple of days before hand and even spoke to a couple of people from uhaul, who had confirmed that everything was "good to go and all I had to to was go to the location and select that in there to 'pick up my truck' and I would get a code and drive off with my vehicle" its that simple I was told several times!!! Well NO, it wasn't. It was ANYTHING, but simple. It was annoying, aggravating, time consuming, frustrating. My husband was the driver of the van and he had to give info, that wasn't relevant, like a lease contract - we aren't moving, his work number- they are closed. A contact - they were with us, doing the move, also waiting for the moving truck, etc. If we would have known we had to answer all of these questions, we could have done them ahead of time and saved ALOT of time. I had his license filled in and other info, so why weren't these questions presented at that time also??? COMPLETELY NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS PROCESS.

The back of the truck needed a sweep out which I realized too late so. The staff at the pick up location were awesome! The experience with Moving Help was also great, I really loved that it could all be booked together.

I have rented 3 trailers from U-Haul in the last two months. The second and third time I rented trailers I was required to pick it up 1 1/2 hours and 1 hour out of the way (respectively). This seems like poor customer service to me. Luckily, both local dealers (in Port Elgin and Wiarton) were very helpful and accommodating. Their excellent customer service helped to make up for the inconvenience.

The owner of this RV sales centre clearly doesn't follow U-Haul procedures as I could not complete my online reservation as he was holding on to the keys. He showed up after I had already called U-Haul 40 minutes late and then called me stupid. This transaction was supposed to happen online especially due to the COVID 19 cases in the area. Absolutely disgusted.

This was not the location I had arranged to pick up the trailer. The location had changed to Wiarton and we were not aware of that ,because we were on the road going to Meaford when the msg. was sent out. The pick up date had changed to Saturday , instead of Sunday, which created a problem. We made a rush trip to Wiarton to pick up trailer, but could not complete the paperwork because the computer system went down. I had to return the next day to complete the forms and pick up the trailer. I ended up driving over a 160 km extra for the trailer. Blue Water RV was not aware I was even picking up the trailer at their location. This was not a good experience with H-Haul.

Better maintenance on their trucks, the front end tie rod appeared loose as the steering wheel felt loose when you went over bumps in the road. I'm just glad that the truck did not break down during my rental period.

The 6x12 trailer is very heavy. U-haul staff were very helpful and assisted with the hook-up. A crank mechanism to raise and lower the tongue would be of great assistance.

I was charged for extra mileage used. I understand the charges, however the agent where I picked up the truck had given 100 km on at least what was a 500 km round trip. So the unexpected $100 fee at drop off was not pleasant. Overall good experience, and probably an honest mistake.

I am very certain I had booked a 6x12 utility trailer. When I showed up there was a 6x12 cargo trailer ready for me. Knowing what i was moving, I definitely did not pick the cargo trailer and I am not sure where it got mixed up. Thankfully the location was able to swap out the rental for a 5x9 utility trailer which they did have... not quite what I wanted but we made it work

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Like the rental pickup location, they also had issues with the uhaul computer application, as it froze and they had to restart the return process. It appears Uhaul should look into making their program more user-friendly and responsive.

I asked for my uhaul to be picked up in Owen sound. Last min a get a call I have to pick up in Wiarton. They give me 50 extra km but that really didn't do anything for me. Of course they have to, it didn't save me any money. It was unconvenent for my self. Now I get a bill over a month later asking for a payment due of something like $51. I filled the gas tank to the mark. Horrible service. Don't recommend uhaul to anyone.

Ground where trailers were parked was uneven. Difficult to move trailer to attach to hitch. Covered trailers are heavy and it would be much easier to hook them up if ground was more level.

The online reservation process proved to be a bit unhelpful in this case, as it suggested a location on the far side of Owen Sound when I live in Wiarton and I actually ended up using the Wiarton location.

Very poor customer service since this is a business of rentals.....I found out 5pm two days before when I called to verify the cost that the equipment was in another town. I was given a free day by the gentleman I first spoke to in customer service. He was very helpful and calmed me down as I was upset. Not knowing where I lived very well plus having to drive to another city. I was informed it was posted at 11 am Tuesday morning yet I did not receive a phone call or an email. Had I not called in I would of found out Thursday morning when the truck wasn't there! This is completely unexceptable when I booked the truck 3 weeks in advance. We are talking about Uhaul and I was told Wednesday they could not promise me the equipment I booked. This just doesn't make any sense and I was given $20 off the rental when I used my gas to get there then the gas it took to bring it back to Owen Sound. I have always used Uhaul my whole life and was never so disappointed and very upset. In the future I will always look for another company and use Uhaul as a last resort. The reservation manager was completely useless and wasn't even willing to figure something out as the gentleman the day before from customer service. When someone books equipment in the city they obviously need it in with advanced notice this should never happen. I also could have paid for " the $50 guarantee but I was only informed of this upon returning to Windsor. You "Uhaul" and it's employees need to understand that there are other circumstances people are dealing with and stresses when moving. I am a single mom with an 11 year old son who had to do this by myself! Still very upset and disgusted with the level of service, being kept informed, and being there for your customers.

takes a lot of personal information to reserve, and then you gotta go through the same process to pick up the trailer. I would not reccommend Uhaul to anyone. I will not use Uhaul again!!!

The check-in service was fairly slow (30 minutes) given that we'd done everything in advance other than pay. Most of the delay was the result of computer issues. The attendant assured us that our experience was unusual and that the previous pickup had been much faster, so maybe ours was just a glitch.
