I would like to file a major complaint regarding a booking of a 26-foot truck which was initiated a month prior to my moving date. I contacted UHAUL on July 2nd to book a truck for August 1st but on the day of getting the truck, I was given various stories and there was no definitive answer provided by the folks at UHAUL as to whether or not the truck would be available. Here is the sequence of events: The truck and auto-transport were booked on July 2nd. I was told that a confirmation would be provided 24-48 hours prior to the scheduled date. On moving day; i.e., August 1st, I was given the run around by firstly, being sent to a pizza parlor to pick up the truck!!! I was provided with the wrong address while my movers had been waiting at my location to move my belongings. I had to scramble at the last minute and contact UHAUL again to confirm where to go to fetch another vehicle. This has caused an incredible amount of stress as I had to make sure that a vehicle would be available on August 1st. I proceeded to another dealership and upon requesting a truck I was told that no truck would be available at that very location. The dealer had to contact his client who had the truck which I was supposed to use to bring it back as it was my turn to use. The dealer handed me the phone to speak directly to the customer and upon requesting from him to bring the truck back, he profusely refused to do so and said, that he would only be able to bring the truck back the following day, i.e., 08/02! I again phoned UHAUL to tell them the latest development. I was put on hold for over 35 minutes and then they came back with, there would only be a 20-foot truck available to use one way, i.e., from British Columbia to Wenatchee, Washington State. This wasn't going to be a viable solution as I needed to vacate my premises on 08/01 while I was already incurring the cost of the movers of $400, waiting at my premises to load the truck that wasn't there!!! Furthermore, I requested a 26-ft truck as I needed to move my belongings in one go. During my conversation with a UHAUL rep, I was then told to drive all the way from Surrey to Chilliwack to pick a 26-ft truck then head back to Surrey to pick an auto-transport which was a complete inconvenience. I eventually signed up for the truck on August 1st at 3:00 p.m. and by the time I got back home to load the truck, it was past 4:00 p.m. and my movers had to go away while I was footed with a bill of $400.0 without doing any work! My move had to be rescheduled for 08/02 which caused me to pay for a night at the hotel, cost of CDN$200 and another bill at a US hotel, cost of USD$140.0 My experience with UHAUL was certainly very stressful and agonizing, to say the least! A move which should have cost a total of $800 and with no emotional or physical distress, had ended up costing me almost $1,500 due to the incompetence of UHAUL's way of doing business. I would like to be compensated a minimum amount of CDN$800 for all the extra incurred and unnecessary expenses! And here's a word of advice from a guy who's been working in the corporate world for nearly 30 years. Firstly, the Regional Manager should be on top of his/her business by managing the territory more efficiently through well organized key performance indicators. In the event of repeated errors, mishandling of clients' requests, employees incompetence, lack of proper service - then the regional manager should be accountable and slammed with compensatory penalties. Secondly, UHAUL should make it a point that in the event that when people fail to return their equipment and vehicles on time then they would be subjected to a fine of $1,000. This will enforce users to respect other people's times and plans. The reason that UHAUL's business is in disarray and has been suffering from a bad reputation is due to the fact that management isn't enforcing any penalties on its clients and employees. Indeed, the cost of UHAUL utilities is inexpensive but the services you provide are equally cheap! You either stop overcommitting or, you need to invest in better management approaches that accommodate the public at large more efficiently.Adam A.

Have your customers take a picture of the odometer before and after so they won't get charged for miles they didn't drive. Have them witness you checking it in computer so no one will drive it with you getting charged for miles.Matthew H.

My truck's mileage when rented was 4679 but I was charged MI Out: 4676, i.e. 3 miles extra by the agent. Plus, I was charged for 2 gal. fuel even when I filled the gas to the initial level. I have pictures of readings before and after renting as proof. I have rented UHaul many times in the past and I am not happy with this experience. I would like to mention that the truck was not cleaned before renting and the front of the truck, especially the windshield, had a lot of bugs and dirt marks on them.Vikas K.

The location hours wee on my receipt as open at 8 AM. this was not the case and the sign read open at 10. There was a sign that explained the steps for returning the vehicle, however, non of the instructions that were located at the key box very far from parking had explicit directions which it was too late to complete after dropping the keys in the key box.GINA G.

The gas was full when I picked it up. Sounds like a small thing, but it is HUGE costumer service to make sure it's full. I appreciated that sooooo much. The East Wenatchee uhaul that I normally rent from (at least monthly) never has a full tank so I end up having to guess how much to put in before I return it and always end up pulling more that I used. Backing up a big truck is hard since my driver doesn't have much practice with it. Would be nice if we could park it comfortably and someone who works there with more experience could repark it. Otherwise it was fine. I liked the many signs telling us what to do. My phone internet wasn't great so it took a while though. Also whenever I would leave the app it would log me out and I would have to start all over which was annoying.Micheal B.

We went to the Cashmere drop off point first and was greeted rudely with almost open defiance as to what are you doing here and was told to leave and go back to Wenatchee. In Salem I was told to leave it at Cashmere. I'll NEVER GO OR RENT UHAUL AT THAT CASHMERE OUTLET WENATCHEE WAS OPEN AND FRIENDLY.Michael H.

This has nothing to do with big T's, this is for U-Haul. The drop off process was very confusing and time consuming! I was on hold for about 10 mins the rep was nice but calling to find out where to go isn't effective service. I tried to log into my account and kept getting errors that's why I had to call. Then for drop off the website continued to give me errors. I took about 20-30 mins to complete the mobile drop off due to website errors. This was not an internet connectivity issues.Alicia O.

Do not recommend this location due to unscrupulous business practices and no attendants during open hours. Specifically asked uhaul for this location's operating hours so we could drop off when an attendant was there. Location was not staffed when we arrived and drop off was unclear dispite signage. Location fraudulently charged a cleaning fee and owner was rude and argumentative when trying to resolve by phone. Owner called me names and dismissed my frustrations of staff missing during operating hours and unclear signage by saying signage was created by a â€œprofessional sign maker.â€ Also acknowledged his staff was not onsite during operating hours to inform me clearly of the drop off procedures.Steve M.

There were trash left in the cab of the truck from the pervious renters. Truck Smelled like someone doused the truck with AXE. Actually gave me a head ache. Gentleman who walked out of the office when i arrive made a comment that I didn't find so funny in regards to me making sure I was getting the size vehicle I reserved/ was paying for by correcting the lady i rented 15" not a 20" . Not very approachable either also had to inch my way out being someone parked right on the ide of the building and stood there making sure I didn't scratch her truck, instead of parking when the sign said to park for visitors.Catrina F.
