The ABS light kept going on and off while driving. Also the starter is going out and needs to be replaced on the truck. The starter would turn but it wasn't engaging the bendix to turn the motor over. It took 3 attempts to get it started at one point during my rental.Christopher L.

Uhaul changed my pick-up location and did not inform me. I called the day before my reservation to the location i had booked and they had no idea i was coming for a 15'truck. A little disorganized but friendly enough. I was upset that I did not get my utility dolly though. I was already gone by the time I realized it wasn't on the truck. I looked at the receipt in case I had forgotten to order it, but it showed that I did indeed order one and I paid for it. Called the place to ask and they said they don't have a dolly. He said he would credit my card. I said you should have told me when I was there. They never gave me my $12 back as of today and it has been almost 2 weeks so I'll have to take time from my busy day to call again. Small thing I know but that's what these surveys are for right? To make businesses better? And also why I still gave 4 stars. But I would have given 5 stars had I received my refund.John M.

We bought a couch on Facebook marketplace in Avon lake ohio, the closest location was Avon bi-rite. So we went there and inquired about the uhaul truck. We explained to the staff that we lived in amherst and would like a one way truck so we could drop it off at a closer location. She said that we were all set to drop off at cooper deli in Lorain. Well long story short we went to cooper deli and she totally did not set it up right so we had to go all the way back out there to drop it off in Avon. When we were setting it all up she was very very rude and told us â€œnext time set it up online so I don't have to put all of your info in.â€ The lady was very very disrespectful and did not appear too happy with our business. I know she's not your employee but maybe you can pass it along. She was just not nice at all. And set it all all wrong. It was very inconvenient for us. Also we wanted the bigger truck but she said that it wasn't a one way so we could do it so we opted for the smaller one and was still set up wrong and wasn't a one way. Just frustrating.Molly L.

Website let me schedule a rental of a 26' truck near my storage. After that I set it all up with help and other logistics. I then received a call from Uhaul saying they had no availability Uhaul at that location. She then sent me 10 miles out of my way to pick up a 15' truck. I was not compensated for all the extra miles. Was next to other location where there was many trucks sitting there all day. Not a good experience for me!!JOHN C.
Not charge people for a furniture dolly when the location did not have one available. They were supposed to remove it, but were so incompetent they could not manage. This was also a grocery store, and I was told that if someone needed to be rang up, they would have to stop my process to handle their customers, which did happen. This location was filthy, and the workers had no idea what they were doing. I handled my Uhaul pick up through my phone, and only needed them to give me the keys, they would not listen. Drop off was just as bad, the women would not allow me to get pictures to post the gas and mileage in order to provide via the Uhaul website. I asked many times and then blatantly had to tell her to move so I could finish the process. I have used Uhaul many times having been in the military, and this was by far my worst experience!!Ashley E.

The app experience is terrible. I could not complete the return process as the app would not upload\accept the photo of the dashboard with miles and gas. Followed the recommendations, my photo looked just like the one in the example, it was clear, yet the app did not accept it. No way around it. Needed help from Bi Rite Express personnel to complete return.Mark A.

Had to wait because the person that waited on us had to run the register at the store. She was stressed. She did not know how to do the order on the computer. Someone (that took forever) had to help her. Our blankets we ordered were not in the truck so we asked. She said she had no clue. I would like a $10.00 refund on the blankets.GREGORY D.

The truck drives unstable, it needs an alignment and more than likely tie rods. It drove horrible and did not want to shift. When we returned it the clerk said that truck needed to go in for service anyway. So glad they rented a truck knowing but was in need of repair to me. I would not rent here again .CHRISTINA S.

We didn't like the fact that we were told we had to bring the van back because â€œTHEY â€œ had it rented the next morning to someone. Should have been able to leave it 1.5 miles from our destination. That cost an additional $23 + gas. + our time. Not a fan of that Hook!KENNETH K.

The truck was not maintained or clean. There was a lot of free play in the steering wheel. The cab smelled of cigarettes and had ashes and cigarette butts in it. The back off the truck had food waste and a very strong odors. The smells were incredibly strong. The condition this truck was in, made it not possible to complete my move. I moved what I was comfortable placing in the vehicle. We were forced to complete the rest of the move using our vehicles.Zackary M.

This location was recommended after scheduled truck on Colorado. Mattress 4 U broke down about a mile up the road. Luckily we were able to get it started and nursed it back to Lorain location. Then we had to pick up another truck at a location that was even farther away from our loading location in Vermilion. So had to pay for all these extra miles when it wasn't my fault. I am a regular customer at uhaul but was not a happy camper that day!JACOB F.

Truck cabin clearly had not been or disinfected in any way. I have pictures to show that. Back of the van had garbage in it. Have pictures also. Had to spend 30 minutes cleaning before we could use it. I should get a refund in my opinion. I addressed with the store and she said â€œ i am not surprised, i havent worked in a couple days and the others dont clean the trucks â€œ. Do not rely on just a text. I would have expected if you changed my location you would have made sure to speak directly to me. Do no just leave a voice mail. I do not always check that. And the fact that I checked in on line and nothing was mentioned that I would go to an alternate location. I paid too much money for a bad experience!!!nMickey O.

I was overcharged as I was reported as not putting fuel in the vehicle. I did put fuel in it and have the receipt. I only used 30 miles and it tells me I needed 2 more gallons than what i put in but that would mean i got 7 miles per gallon when older models of this vehicle get 14 mpg combined. I sent an email regarding this and have yet to hear back. The location was ok but the clerk never went over anything with regard to the vehicle and did not verify fuel levels before or after. I will not be using uhaul again and i will be sure to share my story with othersbrett B.

i tried to order online prior and it was a complete waste of my time. You have to take a photo of yourself, then front and back of ID, then give them reference names and phone numbers. Apparently they could not verify my ID. Asked for the same information three times. Called my references and then denied me picking up the truck. So I went inside and the guy rented me the truck in about 5 minutes. Never wasting my time with their website again.Benjamin D.

The only issue was getting a nasty call from u hall asking where the the dolly was. I used it for about an hour or less. Returned the item to the store about an hour or so after using it. Did. NOT appreciate the NASTY CALL FROM U HALL. Not my fault there was inefficiency with the return on the dolly. Was NOT HAPPY with that at ALL. They need to check with the rental location before accusing someone of NOT doing something.....Samuel S.

I picked up my truck and drove to my home approximately 25 minutes away..as soon as I start loading Bi-Rite calls and says I have to bring the truck back becausethey gave me the wrong one!! I had a 2:00 funeral to be at so the extra 2 hours spent returning,meant I had to load after the Service and then drive to Chicago..when I asked to speak to I believe Kris,he looked around the corner and yelled at me â€œI'm on the phone deal with U-Haul I don't care!! What a guy,I get verbally abused after being extremely inconvenienced..and the kicker is that the truck he gave me the second time was identical to the first...but the trip went well without a hitch and I'll probably rent from you again,but that guy was a complete Ass and should be talked to..Thanks,MarkMark B.
The process took too, long. The truck interior smelled like a barn stall. The Insurance is a scam - I don't care what you all claim, my Insurance covers me in any vehicle I drive, whether for personal use, business, commercial or otherwise, So telling customers that Uhaul doesn't accept anyone's Insurance is pure bullshit - you don't have any say in what my insurance covers. I didn't fall for that crap, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who do & all I can say is shame on you! If I hadn't been in a bind I would have walked away. One thing I can assure you of is that I will never use you again. And you can bet I'll warn all my friends not to use you.C.Justin C.
Your mobile check in took me longer than it should have... It took me 15-20 minutes to pick up the vehicle. unless you have an app that will unlock your vehicles, you should not call it mobile pickup. the steps I had to take were just ridiculous. When I picked the van up it had, just shy of, 3/4 of a tank of gas. I went 27 miles and put about 5 gallons of gas in the van before I returned it. I was charged, from uhaul, for an additional 6.30 of gas. I was thinking about using uhaul more regularly for my projects; that has changed since my last experience. If I rent from you again in the future, I will need to take pictures of everything.Cyril P.
