So, I'm going to point out some charges I was charged. I had about $150 of extra fees on my order. Reviewing the contract I came to find these charges are valid. However, I'm disappointed that my order was changed to a 24/7 pickup order without my requesting it. I was under the impression I was going to be interacting with a human when picking up my vehicle. As a first time renter of a U-Haul I had a few questions a human could have answered. I wasn't giving that chance as my order was changed without my knowledge. This resulted in me not knowing g fuel stipulations. Now, I'm not here to complain about charges as I could have read the contract and been aware of these possible fees. I'm here to let you know I would have appreciated keeping me order as a normal pick up and not a 24/7 pick up as I was expecting to interface with someone as this was my first time renting a u-haul and wanted to be sure I was doing everything right. Turns out I didn't. Not to mention the process of doing the virtual pick up was something I did not want to deal with and was tedious. I had an extremely poor experience with this process and on top of everything I had a very large extra fee that I possibly could have avoided if I had talked to a human on the day I rented. I'm thinking about taking my review to twitter or google as I wish to spare others from what I went through. Had I known what I was getting myself into I would have rented elsewhere.Mykhailo N.

Not the locations issue it drives me crazy that Uhaul ALWAYS gives me a truck with almost no gas and says bring it back with the same amount. This is a terrible policy. Give people the truck with a full tank and charge them if it's not full when they return it and actually go fill it up for the next person.nathan G.
I was charged for gas after I had filled it to where it was supposed to be. They didn't walk out and confirm it with me when I returned it and now I got charged $69 for something that I did correctly. Not happy at all.Cory E.

The office could be a bit cleaner and the individual who helped us did not really know what they were doing, but they were friendly and the process was fairly stress-free for being an otherwise stressful day. I would rent from this location again.Sloan T.
I paid for 2 dollies and did not receive them on the U-Haul. I spent over an hour on New Year's Day try to contact and find an open U-Haul store so that I could get two dollies that were supposed to be on there. I had to go to an open U-Haul store and pay for them again.Coral W.
I picked up and dropped off outside of business hours. Checking in was easy but once I found the truck I ordered it was stuck in the snow. I had to scrape it off and had trouble getting it out of the snow. This was three days after the snow storm so this should've been taken care of by then. The area was not salted and was very icy. I didn't think to check for the equipment I ordered with it as I was so focused on the fact that I was now 45 minutes behind. None of the dolly's that I paid for were with the truck. When returning the truck (after hours) I made a note of this and disagreed with the charges as directed. I still got charged for the dolly's. Normally love Uhaul, and will still use it, just never from this location.Hannah B.

This really was not the drop off location we had requested. It was about 20 miles out of the way from our requested location and we were charged extra for putting extra miles on the U-Haul.Austin N.

My experience has nothing to do with BHA resale. My DISPLEASURE is with U-Haul. Whenever you make a reservation, it's merely a suggestion. I got called 2 days before my rental (reservation made over a month before!!) and was told my truck was to be picked up 80 miles away....yes, 80 miles away. I refused as this is absurd to make me go 80 miles, pick up a truck, drive 80 miles back to where I had originally scheduled to pick up the truck. Uhaul refused to have one of their employees drive the truck to where I had reserved it. After much complaining on my end and multiple phone calls, a truck magically appeared in the city where I wanted it. Uhaul is a TERRIBLE company and the only reason why it's still in business is there aren't many other choices. I will avoid Uhaul at ALL costss.David C.

I ordered a 17' truck 2 months in advance but the only truck available on the day of pick up was a 10' truck. This was extremely upsetting as it caused me to have to pay extra fees in order to move my place with a smaller truck.Travis R.

It was a resale shop/uhaul. There was no signage outside the store to indicate it was a uhaul. The uhaul I wanted to originally use was closed on a Saturday?! I have always used uhaul but this experience was bad.victor F.

You could check the truck to make sure the wiring works for trailers before you give it to a customer who loads it only to find out the wiring does not work and a trailer cannot be attached!!!! This was incredibly frustrating!Chad C.
The trailer was parked in an icy area. The owner of the Uhaul dealership told me to hook up the trailer while he finished the paperwork. I went out and fell on the ice. Also when left and got down the road I found that the tire was very low so I had to go our of my way to inflate it. Not very good experience.BRYAN S.
The place wasn't even open at 10am. We waited until about 10:13 for someone to show up and open the store. Then, the person working didn't even know there was a uhaul being picked up today. I did the express check in but it still took forever for them to get us checked in and on the road. We were also told they didn't have a utility cart that we requested and needed for our move. Then we found out they didn't have the 12 moving blankets we requested as well. Then before leaving they had to go clean out the back of our truck cuz it was dirty and full of leaves! It was a terrible experience and I don't recommend having them as a dealer.Rebecca B.

The BHA Resale Store was very helpful. However, I had an issue with the overall U-Haul experience before I got there. I had reserved a trailer and hitch online to be picked up at 9am at a location near my furniture pick-up. The reservation was accepted and I made arrangements with others (e.g., movers, etc.) based on this location. The pickup location was then later moved to a location several miles away due to the lack of one-way trailers at the original location (I was surprised by this, as the location was accepted for my one-way reservation online). I then proceeded to the new location and found that it did not open until 10am, so not only did I need to drive an additional 15 minutes farther each way, I needed to wait around for an hour, hoping that someone would show up. The BHA Resale Store was very helpful, but did not have information about me needing a hitch. They don't sell those there. So after my additional driving around and then waiting an hour for the place to open, I still didn't have what I needed from the U-Haul reservation I made online. I finally got a hitch and then the trailer from BHA Resale, although it was an two hours later than it should have been This had a domino effect as we had several people in different locations waiting around for me to show up with the trailer. BHA was great during this experience. My issue is with U-Haul overall and the non-integrated website. Ridiculous for a national company.Kenneth J.

Gentleman was rude when he called to confirm my reservation. He did his best to talk me into finding another location because he didn't want to rent me a trailer. The trailer itself had issues with its lights on pickup. I would not recommend this location.Paul W.

Have the original location and time I "reserved" available. The owner of the business at the pickup location was 15 minutes late, yet we were charged with the original pickup time. He also didn't seem to know what he was doing and was not helpful in letting us know where our drop off location was. He told me I had to look it up myself and didn't tell us it had to be within 24hrs. We were told anytime the next day. When your website and emails state multiple times that there is a reservation but it isn't really that is misleading at best.Eric F.

This location is a junk resale store that is cluttered and filthy. The office where you sign in and check out is in the back, secluded, cluttered, filthy and creepy. The guy was nice, but the place is awful. Also, my hitch did not come with a ball ( I didn't know I had to purchase it separately, no one told me that). This location had no balls. I called customer service and ended up being connected with some woman in Arizona. She was extremely rude when I told her I needed a ball brought to me. She said "Well, that's not gonna happen! You can leave a msg with the manager of another store". Arrrggghhh. Horrible predicament.cathryn J.

We made a reservation for a 20' truck and selected a pick up time of 9:00 AM at a U-Haul location one block from our home. When purchasing moving boxes at said location, we spoke with a customer service representative who informed us that they did not have lot space for 20' truck. When we finally did get our confirmation, we were told to pick up our truck at a location on the complete other side of town. Furthermore, the location that we were confirmed to pick up did not open until 10:00 AM, so they were not able to accommodate our original reservation. When we went to pick it up, the employee was 10 minutes late, so we ended up leaving the lot with our truck at 10:45 AM, which is an hour and 45 minutes later than the time we had desired.Christopher F.

After picking up the truck when we got back to our house to start packing we realized that the previous customer had left a lock on the truck so we could not access the back at all. This was not a small lock. We had to ask a neighboring construction crew to borrow their grinder to get through the lock. If they had not had one then we would have been waiting for up to 2 hours for roadside assistance to cut off the lock so we could begin moving. That was not ideal. I feel like that should have certainly been caught when the vehicle was inspected upon its return prior to us getting it. How else could they have checked to make sure it was clean etc.?Thomas L.
The original drop off location was Chet's in Madison. It was changed to BHA resale shop........no explanation why. I had a 26' truck so I suggest making a dry run with your car to find a gas station and the drop off site. BHA was further than Chet's and further than a u-haul warehouse that was even closer to my house. I don't understand why u-haul lets one pick the locations when they change them anyway.William S.
The store was a little hard to find (it's in a resale shop), but the employee checked us in and got us going pretty quickly. I would recommend this one over the other locations I've used in Madison.Matthew R.

The trailer was so old and rusted that I refused to rent it and drive it off the lot. I asked to get my money back. When Irma tried to credit my account for the entire amount of $96.85, the system only allowed her to credit my account for $72.64. UHaul still owes me a credit for $24.21. The person who checked me out was very rude. She said she didn't want to hear about my corporate account again when I told her I didn't need to show her a credit card. She told me I was lucky she was still there because I was 10 minutes late. They are listed as being open till 6. I arrived at 12:10. My scheduled pickup was 12:00. She said here's the key I don't have time to go over the truck. When I got to the truck the gas cap was off and there was only 1/4 tank of gas when the paperwork said 1/2. She was very rude and kept cutting me off whenever I tried to speak.CHRISTINE K.
There was a mix-up with our the rental of the truck. I arrived at BHA ReSale. I walked up to the front counter to explain the situation, to the man at the register. The woman in the back office began shouting that I needed to come back there, as she had to keep working on this other issue while she talked to me. She sat behind her very cluttered area, in her pj's and rather than trying to solve the problem, she was more concerned about making sure I knew was very upset as; "She doesn't do Uhauls on Sundays! I am lucky she happened to be their to take care of another issue. Their was no reservation!" I made several attempts to see what can be done, she continued to tell me she just isn't going to leave keys in a truck and their was no reservation!" I finally had enough of her rant and said; Okay, moving forward. Their are 2 trucks here, the size I need. If they are available, what can be done to solve the problem and let me rent a truck? I have an entire team of workers that are just sitting around waiting to load up a house, I need to rent a truck and get on with my day. She finally began to help rather than complain I was able to take the truck to Cambridge to load up the truck. I rent Uhauls regularly, and if I will be sure to never rent from BHA ReSale Store.LAURA B.
