Just a bit chaotic sharing the lot with a repair facility

You are asking the wrong questions. Trailer was reserved 10 days in advance. The online system seems to show random local places to pick up equipment. Day before pickup, I received an email informing me the equipment actually needed to be picked up 80 miles /1.5 hours one way away from where I “reserved” it! This is false advertising or “bait and switch”. Recorded message on the call in number says changes can be made through web. This is not true. There is no way to make any changes other than cancelling the order and starting over without calling and sitting in the phone queue.

The keyless pickup is a terrible system. UHaul Corporation should make sure they open with a representative on the mornings of early rentals at every location. Have certain early hours available. Most are open at 7 a.m.

I did not realize that I would need to take pictures of the mileage and gas tank as part of the after hours turn in procedure. I locked the vehicle and put the key in the lock box then went to the link to do the check-in procedure. When I read the requirement for the mileage, it was too late as the vehicle was locked and the key in the drop box. Perhaps making this part of the after hours turn-in more visible would be good. This was my first time turning in a rental after hours. I will know better next time.

The app is terrible. We could not rent the truck through it. The people were wonderful! They helped us rent the truck. The problem with the app can be fixed. The driver's license entry needs to specify “no dashes”. We wasted 1 hr and 45 min with the app

The gentlemen that worked at this uhaul are exceptionally welcoming, kind, excellent customer service, they were polite, sufficient, detail orientated, overall I have had a lovely uhaul customer service experience ...the down side is that there are expeptionally large dirty 20 meter pot holes and it is very muddy..the whole parking lot needs to be resurfaced and they office is situated right in the middle of a gas station and a garage...if the office block was newer and situated further back and the uhaul truck parked in front not only does it look more pleasant and welcoming but by hiding the truck at the back ...where it is cluttered and extensive large pot holes ..I just think a little investmemt into this uhaul facility would be nice for 2020 ...they deserve it.

Advertising can be misleading. You claim low fees, until we sign the contract. Weekend rates, in town only, other fees. Gets costly.

Fix the ignition problem! We had to play with the key very time to get the truck started. The staff on day of pick up was not professional and seemed upset to be working on a Saturday. The staff on return wasn't able to process payment without assistance. This may have been due to system error, however, it took over 10 mins to check out.

Check in and check out process was a nightmare!!! Took at least 30 min at both check in and check out to get all stuff downloaded etc even though I had already done this in advance at home. Will be very reluctant to use uhaul again. Even the reservation process was a nightmare although I tried to reserve the truck almost 2 weeks in advance. The receptionist Bobbie at the Grasonville Md location was very helpful. Chris Barnes

The truck was in very good condition the customer service was good but I was in a crisis I own a 16 foot box truck myself and it had broken down on me and I drive 360 miles per day with it for work and I was wondering if I could get a better deal on the mileage than what I get because I would use the U-Haul more often for when I have to take my vehicle in for service but I can't really cannot afford to pay those rates for what I'm using it for So is there anyway that I can get a waiver or a discount for the mileage rate that I was charged I paid $400 for renting a truck for one day that was very expensive really cannot afford that in the future

I have been to countless uhaul locations in many different states and this is by far the worst location. I set my reservation and express checkout all online and still the lady not only took a long time she CHANGED my preferences and over charged me. I told her that she made a mistake and was told she can't do anything that she was going to have to call a uhaul rep. I was running late so i said i can't wait any longer and told them nevermind. After another guy hooked up the trailer to my vehicle, he did NOT check the lights (first time uhaul didn't check the lights). I was in the military as a truck driver for 7 years so this is a BIG no no. I had to check my own damn lights. After getting to my destination, i opened the trailer and the railings were ripped from the walls. I couldn't believe this trailer passed any type of inspection. Do not go to this location! Do yourself a favor and go to a different location.

you should centralize all Kent Island area UHaul operations at your corporate location in Grasonville. The facility is clean and the personnel are courteous. The location in Chester is abominable. Personnel are rude, uninviting and unhelpful.

I'd like for U-Haul to provide the vehicle in the place I need it. I had to drive an extra 30 miles or so because I could not get this vehicle close enough to my home in Centreville,MD. This cost me over 50$ extra and that is not right. U-Haul almost made me go to Easton for this vehicle, which would have cost much more. You need to do a better job of providing the vehicle closer to the consumer, or offer a discount, or I will be using another provider. I have rented U-Haul 4 times in the past year. You will lose my business. It's not like I live in Mongolia or something for Christ's sake.

Somehow things got confused for me. I thought I was going to another grasonville location. When I arrived there, they told me I had to go to this location which was an inconvenience and cost me some time. Not sure if this was my mistake or U-hauls, but that was problematic for me. That being said, I usually have no troubles with U-haul and will continue to use them.

Nothing to recommend. The problem at the rental site just took longer than expected. Even without the contract drop off was not a problem and the person logging the truck back in provided a hand written receipt.

First of all - made my reservation online for this location. Got a text - wrong location and wrong time for pick up. Spoke with regional office - said we could only get the next size trailer at Kent Island location (where we live) - said they would fix location and time - got another text - still wrong location and wrong time! Called and spoke with Regional Office AGAIN. Fixed it - got text with correct location and time. Called Bay Bridge Tire and Auto - told they are closed on that Saturday and Labor Day Monday. "Linda" did not explain right away that we could still pick up trailer but needed to do paperwork before Saturday. My husband wanted to do paperwork Thursday - Linda said she could not do paperwork until trailer was there - come back Friday. He came back on Friday - wanted to make sure the hitch would work with his truck and that the rear lights work on the trailer. The other workers didn't really want to hook up the trailer to our truck but did - lights did not work. We knew our truck was fine - just spend $400 to get the electrical for trailer hookup fixed! Took them a half hour to fix the taillight issue with the trailer. If we had not asked to check it, we would have picked it up on Saturday with no working taillights and probably would've gotten a ticket. All-in-all, this was a very labor-intensive experience - online reservation should mean that the particular trailer reserved is actually available at the place and at the time requested - it was paid for ahead of time. I had to keep calling to get the reservation corrected. "Linda" was nice enough but there were other people there that did not seem to care about customer service.

Having a customer hook up a trailer by them selves blocked by a vehicle on pickup is ignorant. Almost as ignorant as having the customer wait on dropoff till the area blocked by someone with a trailer too put the trailer where they would like. Owner is an idiot zero respect from them. Horrible service then tell the customer I will be added too the do not rent list like I will ever use uhaul service again. The person profiting from this exchange should lift one finger on pickup or drop off other than too run the credit card. Worthless location will not use uhaul service again.

The truck was ready and the staff helpful. However upon reaching the second location to pick up the auto transport, the staff discovered that the truck had a faulty electrical connection. I had to sit and wait over an hour for a new fuse to arrive and be installed. The staff were all very helpful, however, why wasn't the truck inspected before I picked it up?

I rented a 6x12 cargo trailer. It was understood by the rental staff and me that i would return the trailer after-hours. This plan worked well until i tried to lift the trailer tongue off of the ball. I finally pulled the pin on my hitch and drove forward thus disconnecting from the trailer. I suggest U-Haul install a manual jack on these larger trailers.

I was told a price from the Philly office of 80.00$ for the truck rental minus taxes and insurance. I pick up the truck and I'm informed the payment is a total with taxes and insurance 145.80 so I was lied to and not happy at all but you had me over a barrel so I had no choice thanks.
