I have been to a few places over the decades and the gentleman who runs this convenience store with a full array of UHaul products is exactly why I came back to see him. The trailer was in impeccable shape compared to the last one I dropped off in this location that was rented in Canada. You have a good representative for your company. Some places are so disorganized and you have to wait in between customers and can sometimes take up to an hour to get out the door with foot traffic and some of the folks are not that knowledgeable about your system or its products.mark R.

When I reserved the truck the time was for 2:30pm. I did get there early and they gave me the truck at 1:44pm as that was what my credit card record showed, I took the truck with the understanding I had it for 24 hours. Your agent calls me at 12:00pm and told me the truck had to be back no later than 1:30pm as he rented it out for 2:00 pm. I brought it back and then once he started giving me trouble about the gas I had to go back to my home to retrieve my paper work to show him the gas tank reading the other agent circled. By the time I returned it was well after 2 PM the truck was still there and had not been taken. This place charged me $23.58 for gas when I put gas in before bringing the truck back to 3/4 of a tank the same as it was when I picked it up. Your agent disputed this with me and he was very rude also. My paper work matched the computer when I first disputed this. Several mnutes later he did something to the computer and now it said 7/8 for gas level. We went out to the gas pump and brought it up to 3/4 and yet after that he charged me another $23.58 for gas. Something is very wrong with this, I truly believe this guy is milking your customers and taking the extra money and putting it in his pocket. It did not make any scence making me put more gas in at the pump after bringing it up to the level he claimed I was short. .The bill was $106.40 also $1.00 enveromental fees $9.17 rental tax and another $ 23.58 for the gas even though I did what he asked and put the extra gas at his pump. Total $140.15. I can tell you this I may not use your company again after this stunt this guy pulled. I will consider other truck rentals like Ryder or even Budget . This location was fine. The previous two locations and customer service rep that I dealt with yesterday was NOT a good experience at all. Went to one location there were no vans, that's fine. The employee made a reservation for me at a second location, went there with my reservation number, they told me I had no reservation. Called the customer service line, they also tried to tell me I had no reservation when I had a reservation number. After finding that I did have a reservation and they just didn't know what they were doing, I didn't even get an apology for being sent all around the state and taking a whole hour to get a truck. Then I got sent to this last location where I had to rent a truck bigger than what I wanted/needed all because they were unorganized.Thurstina H.

If you had a 4/4 truck would be great but overall it was a comfortable ride next time I will rent another truck from you folks but it has to have four wheel drive and it has to be maintained want to use had a needed oil change and it was skipping but overall it was a comfortable ride nice radio heat worked awesome but just future four wheel drive me better lot of people I know would like to get a four wheel drive especially in New England for a very nice truck I think I'm going to buy a Silverado thank you very much I will give the word out to my friends and because I want business I know a lot of people the gentleman that help me at the U-Haul place he was very polite people person I'm very honest all people should be like that you did an awesome job thank youEDWIN H.
This location got it done for me. However, originally my reservation was made at the Oakland Beach store in Warwick. I used to have a storage unit there and my family has had several storage units there. I work in the music industry and used to be a frequent van renter since I move a lot of stuff very frequently so I'm familiar with how renting works. Again, the Bald Hill location got it done for me, I wasn't thrilled but they got it done. When I arrived originally at the Oakland Beach location I was dropped off and was almost immediately greeted by one associate yelling at another associate outside in a rude tone. When we went in the associates that greeted us were kind, friendly and upbeat. Very personable. When the associate I was speaking with pulled up my order and took my ID like normal we were going over my contract, the price he gave me wasn't accurate of the price I was given when I made my reservation. I typically book the multi day 100+ mile reservation which I used the uhaul.com calculator and selected the high mileage option when booking my reservation. When I got the email confirming my reservation the price was less than the website told me so I expected to pay that amount but the amount I was being asked for in store didn't match either of those numbers. All I said to the associate checking out my reservation was, â€œ wait a second, that's not what it said online. Let me look at my email really quick.â€ He looked at the associate who had been yelling at someone else outside who I assume was the manager. His name was Tom. He immediately spoke to me in a condescending tone telling me it didn't matter what it said online because that's how much it is in the store. When I told him I didn't understand how that could be he told me to show him my email which I tried to begin to explain how the price my email reflected was less than what I was expecting to pay and he kept cutting me off and literally YELLING about how the price they just calculated was the price and I did something wrong. I asked him why he was yelling and he said that wasn't yelling and that he needed me to tell him how I got the price I had. Again I tried to tell him and he wouldn't let me speak. I pointed out that he was asking me questions and then wouldn't let me answer and when I told him I used the uhaul.com price calculator to get my price he aggressively spun his computer screen around and told me to walk around the counter so he could do it himself since I was going through the steps again on my phone to see what may have gone wrong. I poked my head over the counter and he yelled â€œNO, COME BACK HERE!â€ Which I told him I can see from here just spin the screen back and he said the cables weren't long enough. I told him I didn't need to see it then because I can walk through it on my phone. He then told me he didn't think I could afford to rent from uhaul and that I could leave. The associate I was talking to at first suggested maybe the wrong mileage was typed in which I suggested whatever I typed in to get the price I had was a good estimate but not necessarily exactly what I was traveling so they could just charge me for what was there and I was ok with paying whatever the total was when I returned the van. Tom began to rudely explain how I was required to sign a contract and how I was a liar and had to tell him every single place I planned on going on my trip over the 3 days I reserved the van for which I told him I couldn't tell him all of those details and it wasn't his business anyways and that whatever miles I used would be paid for. I told him my client was paying for the rental but based on what the website said that was the deposit I was given to pay for the van deposit and whatever the total was would be ok to be taken from the card on file. Tom continued to cut me off every time I tried to speak telling me how I'm a liar and he couldn't trust me so eventually I left while calling the customer service line. The person that answered the phone said they weren't customer service but they could help and when I told them what was happening they were shocked but said they would have to transfer my call. I spoke to someone that offered to change my reservation to a different store and I accepted the offer even though we were now on foot in the middle of a snow storm and also asked to be transferred to a manager which I was not. The person on the phone kept telling me that I was being charged for far more miles than I was trying to book and the store couldn't change it and that was just the price. I told her I didn't understand why and asked why I could t just make a new reservation with more accurate miles and she said I would still be charged for the other booking anyways. At this point I had already been between arriving at the store at around 9:15am and being on the phone for almost an hour and a half. By the time I got my reservation changed and got to the store the associate at Sunoco was kind and friendly but when he swiped my debit card to pay the rental he printed a paper that said to call a number because there was an error on my account. So I call the number and speak to someone who tried to get my issue sorted out. He kept having to place me on hold and make other calls. He kept assuring me I would be taken care of. At this point I had been on the phone for over a half an hour. I've lost almost 3 hours of my day. He eventually tells me he has to call the Oakland beach location and then comes back to tell me that unfortunately uhaul won't rent to me because management doesn't feel comfortable with me and think I can pay for my rental. I ask him why because I didn't have an issue with paying for my rental but I had an issue with the way Tom was speaking to me. Tom didn't even give me the chance to even think about that he wasn't using my multi day high mileage in town rate was more concerned with trying to fight me. After I told the person I was on the phone with that he said â€œoooohhhh, let me make another callâ€ which he came back and told me my rental was all set. I get my van. (The mileage in the van didn't match the paperwork but I'm 3 hours late for work) and I make my trip. My trip was fine, the van was fine. When I return the van I fuel it to the level I started with. I sweep and clean all of my things out. I ask the associate inside if he could just help me calculate the total price so I didn't have any surprises later and I needed to know if I should transfer any More money. The associate was very nice and very kind but still not only did the mileage price match the cost but I was charged a refueling fee! I literally put more gas in it than I left with! He told me I could just put more gas in it but I was so over dealing with the poor uhaul customer service I just told him to add it to the bill and I left. I was a retail manager for 12 years and have owned a business for the last 3 years. I manage several clubs in Providence and have never seen or heard of a worse customer service experience. To sum all of this up, Tom should not have a job at uhaul and no customer expected to be treated well should ever use uhaul ever again.Vincent B.

This guy's customer service skills were atrocious. We used the vehicle for less than 2 hours and for total of 14 miles. The representative was nickel and diming everything!! We took before and after photos of the gas gage and milage and he basically called us liars and had to go meticulously scrutinize the gages and our photo. Then denied the photo was legit because he felt the gage was slightly different than the photo. Seriously?? We were not trying to rob the guy of $3 or 4 bucks in gas...lets be real here. He was a sub bar representative and wound up telling us if we had an issue with his service to take it up with uhaul because he doesn't work for them. (This was a Synoco location). This guy was a real jerk through the whole experience and basically called us liars. The best part? He was so worried about staring at the gas gage for 10 minutes and zooming in on the picture on our phone that he left the vehicle ruinning in the parking lot with the lights on!! We left and pulled out of the lot and made sure to record a video of the fact he was so bad at his job that he left the uhaul vehicle running in the parking lot with the keys in the ignition. We made the reservation with a utility dolly equipment, but when we picked up the truck, there is no utility dolly available. That gave us a VERY VERY VERY hard time to move our stuff. We took the furniture dolly instead, but that is not quite helpful for us. We need to move our boxes by hand one by one without utility dolly, even worse is that our schedule is to move the boxes onto the truck at night, while that's around 32 oF outside. It will be one of my worst experience in my life for this U-Haul rental.CHUI SHEN H.
Was way over charged they have no clue what they are doing they were not helpful at all called to complain about being overcharged and was yelled at never signed paperwork nor was giving any documentation regarding amount the took out truck clearly says 19.95 had less than three hours and not to mention truck was on empty when I picked it up I put 20$ in tank was told they would take care of the over charge and wouldn't close it out until resolved and someone would call me nope they closed out account never called took out way too much money the took my money without my signature or authorization beyond upset I will never go back there nor will I ever recommend them to anyoneALICIA V.

It took hours to pick up this truck! My son had arranged it and supposedly I just needed to go and pick it up. The customer service people were very nice but they had me start over again and put the reservation on my credit card then they had to confirm my identity with two people in the middle of the night. Got it all done but I arrived at 12:30 am and was not able to get the truck until 3:30 am from a closed and deserted gas station in Warwick RI.Marianne S.
