Location accused me of keeping rental for longer than a day, when it was actually returned on time and keys in the drop box. The person was rude and argumentative and returned call to finally say i did keep it for a day as I said and i was going to be refunded. No apologies or anything after, stressful experience. This guy didn't have any of the equipment I ordered and even told me it was in the truck. I had to sign the paper before going to the truck because it was parked way down the street instead of his parking lot. Now I have to file a dispute to get my money back for the equipment that was not given to me. Also his office was a mess and he didn't wear a mask. I will only use official Uhaul locations from now on. I had to use this 3rd party location because the official uhaul locations were closed on Labor Day.Kellen I.

U-haul's pickup location was closed during the pickup time it has agreed to be open. Neither U-haul nor the pickup location took responsibility or apologized for the inconvenience. U-haul's customer service was condescending and showed no concern for my one hour delay, which is ended up costing me $200 extra dollars as my moving crew waited for me to arrive. Furthermore, the pickup location did not provide the two dozen furniture blankets. They weren't packaged, probably not even in sanitary condition. The argument was â€œin my 15 years here I've never seen someone pickup their U-haul on time.â€ WTF U-haul???!!! I sent U-haul an email as well and never got a response. I lost money today, U-haul didn't and they also didn't care.Isaac G.

The uhaul was so gross. It was covered in trash. They told me that in order to get a 15' truck, I had to go to this location, which was over a half hour from my house â€" and then they gave me a 10' truck without consulting me. I could have gotten a 10' truck at the location 5 minutes from my house.Jacob L.

This was our second pick up location. The first location did not have the furniture pads we reserved. During the process of trying to find the pads, our original reservation was deleted and this one was put in. We actually only picked up the pads from this location. I would suggest you remove our first pickup location in Hayward. They were terrible.Todd A.

Small office kind of cluttered. No specific area to park the van, no signs to direct customers. Employee is courteous and polite.Tim D.
We were redirected to this site due to an our reserved truck not available at the Hayward after waiting for over 30 minutes. The owner was not there, we had to go back to the Hayward location, wait for another 20 minutes, then go back to the other location. The truck was dirty, and location was in a very bad part of Hayward. Then, on my statement, I have been overcharged on the insurance and the rental rate! Very disappointed and unhappy with this service and experience.Randel Y.

There were substantial computer issues during the check-in. While that is out of an individual's control, the proprietor, instead of telling me what was going on and being professional about it, was just cursing under his breath for 15 minutes.Brennan L.

Malik was professional and courteous. The office was small and typical of a small repair shop. The vehicle was generally in good working condition - tires were good, the engine and transmission worked well. The vehicle had over 100K on it and had lots of dings (all of which were labeled with x sticker). The location is in an industrial area, I left my car on the street 1/2 block from the office and sadly it was broken into overnight.JUDITH M.

I appreciated that the shop owner was friendly and he was able to get me in and out right away. He then walked me out onto the street, gave me the keys and pointed in the direction of the rental truck. And I was on my way. But I had wish that he would at least take a moment to walk around the truck to check for any damages and show me the gas levels.KIET B.

This was my second rental this past weekend. And again, it was not a problem with the location, but with the reservation system. I needed to pick up as early as possible, as close to home as possible. Once again, i was directed to a location further away, and at a much later time than i needed. The reservation system needs a serious overhaul. Ive used uhaul many times, but may look at different options in the future. Very poor planning.Ryan T.

I reserved a truck on line from Oakland Road, San Jose. I then called the actual site to confirm and agreed to pick up at 7:15. I arrived at 7:10 to be told my van was 25 miles away. No one told me this would happen. The Hayward branch didn't open until 9:00. I lost 3 hours and had two people ($15 per hour) wasting their time and my money until I arrived. It made the whole move late, stressful and frustrating. I will never use UHaul again and will tell all my friends.Andrew J.

1: Train the people on how to properly use your software on the computer. I sat for thirty minutes waiting for the man to get my paperwork correct. He called for help 3 times and failed to make the necessary corrections to my account. He just gave up. Very unprofessional. 2: Train the people on correct procedure. When I mentioned that the drop-off location had not been confirmed, I was told I could drop it off anywhere. Turns out this was incorrect. 3: I received a text on Sunday telling me to call and confirm my pick-up information at the Hayward office. When I called a very rude man with very poor English skills answered the telephone and told me they were closed and not to call this number until Monday. Since I would already be on an airplane early Monday morning, that would have been impossible to accomplish. 4: I was assured the truck had been inspected. I had engine trouble almost as soon as I got onto the freeway. The problem continued throughout the trip. Clearly someone failed to drive it on the freeway when they "inspected" the engine. 5: I ordered 20 blankets for my furniture. He had 12. He gave me 10. I really needed 20. There was plenty of time from the initial order until my arrival at Hayward to get my order correct.Theresa S.

The man said he had none and he sent me to a parts store to buy one for $14, The man at the Florence location was going to take the one I got, He said they always come with it. They Changed My pick up location at the last minute and sent me to a location 20 min opposite dorection of my move! The original ordered time was 8am, the pick up location didn't open until 9am. I had to wait an hour. I will not be using uhaul ever again.ABEL B.
Do not change the original pickup time on the customer. Switching my pickup time from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. was unacceptable and messed up my plans in regards to resources availability to help load the truck. An exception was made after I called to complain allowing me to pickup the truck a day early. However, this placed me in a position to pickup the truck drive it home and then to Fremont which increased the number of miles U-Haul calculated, and I was almost charged for additional mileage when I returned the truck for an issue that was caused by U-Haul pushing the pickup time out in the first place. The customer should not be charged for issues that are caused due to internal issues or inconsistencies in business hours.WILLIAM T.

Everything. The gentleman was horrible. He had very poor customer service experience. He was extremely rude. And when we arrived we had to wait over and hour before he even showed up. Nobody was at the location for us to pick up our truck at our reservation time 9am. He also gave us less millage than wit it actually takes to get to our new home. And the gas and millage was wrong on our paper and when we let him know he said it was fine and we wont be charged. But as a usual uhaul customer I know they fix it so you wont get charged fueling or for millage. But anyways the worst experience ever!nelson M.

Its a very small location,there was no one there,I had to call the number on the door and waited 20 min.for person to show up.The trailer we got worked very well didnt have any problem with it at all.The man was very nice he showed me how to hook it up and we were on our way.Thank you very much.Oh and the 1 800 number was very helpful as well.The lady on the phone was able to pinpoint exactly where there was a auto transport near the place I had to go and get my car.THOMAS H.
Staff was borderline incompetent - he didn't even know how to enter my driver's license number into the computer. Picking up the trailer took over 45 minutes even though I had made the reservation weeks in advance. I was also not given the specific 4x8' trailer I wanted; instead I got a 5x8' trailer which was much too large for my small sedan. The staff also didn't even know if my trailer hitch could handle the 5x8 trailer. Worst U-Haul experience ever.DAN F.

Abide by the reservation contract! This is NOT the location my reservation was confirmed for! I got no notification of the change until I showed up to pick up the trailer! It was a busy day - I didn't really have the time to go way out of my way to pick it up! By the contract terms on YOUR web site YOU OWE ME $50! Also - when I got there I was asked for the plate number of the car I was to put on the trailer! THAT should have been asked when I made the reservation and the info was available! NOT when busy and at a location 10 miles further from home than planned/expected! Do YOU have all your car plate numbers memorized?? I don't! Also - DL info should have been taken during the reservation! Pick-up time is NOT the time for surprises! The reservation process is seriously broken! I REPEAT - by the terms of YOUR contract - YOU OWE ME $50!Ted D.

The person in charge of this facility was untruthful about the pricing and vehicles available to rent. We asked for a flat bed truck on the phone and he said he had one when we got there he only had large moving trucks and told us he never said he had flat bed trucks then he tried to charge us extra for gas when we brought the truck back with more gas than he told us to fill it with. He was very arguemenative and wasn't a very good sales person.JARRETT D.
