The company owner was not at the first U-Haul car lot when we arrived for scheduled pick up of the van at 1pm, and the van was blocked in by a fence at the front, and another vehicle at the rear. Thankfully, another customer at the lot was able to give us the name/cell phone number of the owner, and after I initiated a phone call to the owner, I was informed that his wife was on the way to help. She showed up at about 1:35pm. Her attempts to get the van out of this blocked area resulted in the vehicle's rear wheel spinning and becoming stuck in the mud. Finally, a friend of the owner arrived and after further attempts to move van/spin wheels, he opted to pull the vehicle blocking the van out of the way. This then allowed the van to be driven. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete this whole process/plus rental agreement. To top it off, the rental office was dirty and housed stray cats/smelt like cat urine. Due to the delay in this first rental, we were then late to pick up car dolly from separate location, (needed to be done after van was loaded). It had been indicated to me that since this can be common, to have a van and a dolly pick up at separate locations, it would be expected to not arrive at the second location at the assigned time. When we did arrive at second location, the owner indicated that they had canceled the dolly for a 'no show'. Luckily the dolly was still present in the lot, (we arrived around 4pm). Prior U-Haul emails had indicated that a professional would not only assist with attaching the car tow dolly to the van, but they would also assist with the car loading, as well as confirm safety/attachment process. The owner of this second U-Haul reported to us that he would be able to attach dolly to van, but he did not fully know how to attach/load car onto dolly. Luckily my friend was able to assist with this process. The only saving grace in all of this was a small rate discount offered and the U-haul van used was nearly brand new.

I reserved a 26ft truck for 9 am on the 13th . I use uhual on a weekly basis as I run a small local moving company . As I got to the pick up site I was notified that they didn't have the reserved truck and that I would have to go to another location that didn't open for another hour . I was late for my start time with my customer , I was offered no discount or the 50$ claim if uhaul doesn't have the truck on location . Half way through the day I realized I had been charged 28$ for insurance when in fact I had picked only the basic 14$ insurance. Im not sure why but once I returned the truck fueld up and clean i was still offered no answer . I just ask for what you guys guarantee when there are issues on your end with making sure the reserved truck is on site and on time. Being a valued customer over the last 2 years renting multiple truck from multiple locations throughout the Tampa Bay and surrounding area . Hopefully someone in corporate who values the loyal customer will read this. Thank you and have a great day .

This place is an absolute hell hole, i cannot believe that UHaul doesn't vet who they let represent them. There was a loose pet raccoon in the place and two cats. The place stunk to high heaven and the proprieter wanted me to keep the door shut so his raccoon didn't escape. The desk that he worked on had not been washed in months and there were stains all over it. He laid my license and credit card on it and i promptly wahsed them with soap and water when i got home

Let me start by saying over the last 2 years I've most likely rented 15-20 times from U-Haul. I needed a enclosed trailer for 5-6 hours. I had to drive just under 100 miles each way to pick up cabinets I had ordered. I went online to reserve an enclosed trailer for rain reasons only. I had a open trailer and I drive an F250 Super Duty with an 8' bed. It would have fit in my truck. It would have fit in my open trailer. Only rain worries had me rent. I selected the 6x12 enclosed trailer and a U haul dealer I've used. When my rental confirmed it appeared to change me to a different U-Haul. I looked and it was just a mile or so further. I looked at the facility and everything began to change. I read some reviews on line and thought this is horrible! I switched it somehow back to who I had selected. When I show up to pick up rental, the guy tells me it isn't this facility but changed to this junk yard down the street AGAIN!!! I pull up email to see contract again, he's right, it's switched back again!!! I drive there and it's little more than a junk yard! There were a total of 3 pieces there of U-Haul equipment. One was a car dolly, one was a sport trailer, which was laying across tongue of the 6x12 trailer I had reserved. I had reserved for pick up at 9am. No one is there! Sign on door states “open by appt only.” The entire area was littered with open cans of cat food. I called the number on door and did not receive an answer. I stood around taking this all in. I've used U haul since my Marine Corps days in the early 80s! I can NOT believe this place is a U haul dealer! By far the worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul!! I now drive back to other dealer. He tries calling them again. No answer. He leaves a message and then starts trying to find me trailer. Begins telling me there appears to be no other enclosed trailers in the area available when his phone rings and it's this other place calling back. She begins telling him they are only open by appt. He explains I've had a reservation two days and a appt to pick up at 9:00 am and had been there and no one is there or answers phones. He said she mumbled something and hung up?? He starts looking for a trailer again. She calls him back and says someone should be there soon. I drive back to the property and make my way back to office. Again, cats and kittens all over. Cans of food open all over out front of office doors. Entire area smells of cat urine. In office same as outside. Different age kittens, etc. He can't do rental contract , takes my drivers license and credit card, takes photo of both and sends to this women somewhere. She produced some contract . Sent it back. Took a while to get trailer lights working on my truck? The guy helping me now tells me I can just take trailer without working brake lights. I tell him no, I have to go about 100 miles each direction and I need the lights working. I finally get them working. I take off and my wife and
