Though The Van was dirty and smelled at pick up. The staff and location made up for some of the Van issues. Would have liked some kind of a discount for accepting the Van in those conditions.

The location was fine. No qualms at all. Using the Truck share option to rent a truck I noticed the U-Haul app/website does not allow the renter to download the rental contract to their phone. There may be times when cell phone coverage is not available. I called customer service and the first person didn't know and the second told me this feature is not possible. This document needs to be accessible at all times by the renter. Please fix this. Or at least make the document smaller so we can screenshot it.

They were open later than was shown on their website. The guy did the check in - made an exception. A 6 p.m. closing time was earlier than other area U Haul's. Had I known that, I would have requested another drop off location. Lots of options in Mesa.

I filled the tank back to (more than) the starting amount and refurned the uhaul after hours using he drop box. My emailed receipt had a fuel charge on it. Here is the full story. I did pick the rental up later than expected but I wasn't worried because I knew it was a daily rental. I needed the rental to move my daughters belongings out of a storage unit and into her ASU apartment. I confirmed that I could drop off after hours when picking it up. I also confirmed that I was not sure if I would use more than the estimated 10 Miles I entered on the reservation. All were acknowledged by the clerk. I dropped off the rental and keys around 8. I stopped at the gas station less than two blocks from the pickup/drop off location and put in $11 of fuel. After I received the $10 fuel charge on my emailed receipt I contact the clerk and he let the manager know to call me. The manager called me right back and said that the fuel level was below what I check it out at. I told him that was false. I didn't take a photo of the fuel gage as proof But I did know how many miles I used and I had my gas station receipt. The manager said I was wrong and then continued to ask me what time I returned the rental. Since it was after hours, they close at 7. I had estimated returning it at 7 but didn't until 8, he said he could have biled me for the late return and that basically if I kept complaining he would bill me for that as well. Remember I picked it up an hour and a held later than I had intispated.. I had a few words with the very rude manager and told him that his actions would be noted in a review. I know it was “only” $10. Don't use this location. They pick and choose the rules that want to enforce.

The most horrible experience I have ever had with U-Haul. I was truly disappointed in the service that was provided. 1. I scheduled a mobile pickup for 9am. We arrive at the location and “check in” on the website to be told we have to come back at 10am when the store opens. This put us over an hour behind schedule. Then what is the point of the mobile 24/7 service? 2. We live only a few (2-3)miles from the pickup location. From where we picked up the U-Haul to our apartment we had used 1/4 tank of gas? In just a couple miles? It costed us $50 to just get the U-Haul back to 1/2 tank when we returned it. 3. When we pulled out of our driveway we noticed a 2 foot long oil spot. Fresh oil from the U-Haul. So now we have to deal with getting that oil stain out of brand new driveway. I don't ever complain like this and have never had an issue with U-Haul until today. I feel like we were taken advantage of. U-Haul is supposed to make moving easy, not more difficult and stressful than it already is. I would be happy to provide pictures of the oil stain if needed.

The van I got, the key fob didn't work, the power locks would only work if the motor was on and the windshield wipers were so bad that when I rain into rain on a two lane highway at night, I was completely blind. It was very stressful because there was no where for me to pull off the road and at some points I could not see through the windshield. I had to travel at a crawl which made me a hazard to other drivers at well.

we were not informed that the dolly would not be available, nor the furniture pads. moving a three bedroom house was very difficult without a dolly. i would've made other arrangements had i known we would not be provided a dolly. i also had to use bed comforters as furniture pads so now i have to go to the laundromat which i despise.. i checked in online far prior to our pick up time, and yet we had a great deal of issues checking in upon arrival. they asked for additional proof of identity? requested a passport photo or a lease agreement - obviously i had neither of the two on hand. the lock box was EXTREMELY difficult and took us fifteen minutes to access. the overall check in time was 45 minutes which was extremely frustrating on an already stressful situation. overall i was fairly disappointed with the experience

A loading bar or some kind of progress check-in for the user during online rental approval, while someone is checking all of the documents. The wait time is appropriate (~10 minutes) but, this is a long time to wait with zero feedback. I thought my internet had gone out, reloaded the page, and eventually use the message system to check in - no response. I was getting really worried as it approached 10 minutes, but it was approved as I was about to send a second message. Please give the user something that lets us know how the review is progressing!

The van was clean and in good condition except for the power locks. The key fob did not work at all, I'm assuming a dead battery. The unlock buttons on both driver and passenger doors would not work unless the engine was running which I did not figure out until I was finished utilizing the van. Extremely frustrating. This meant I had to climb in through the back of the truck to get the side doors open which was very difficult to unlock from the inside.

Windshield was filthy dirty with bug splatters everywhere! I'm VERY unhappy that U-Haul does not honor the customer selected "pick-up" and "drop-off" locations. My observation is that U-Haul puts the burden of where to pick-up and drop-off their trucks based on their needs not the customers. That costs the customer time & money!!! I will be looking more closely at competitors for my next rentals.

The windshield of the truck was extremely dirty with dried bug remains from a previous trip. There was black electrical tape falling from inside wheel well. But none of this really hindered the use of the truck in town. The staff at the fun services office are very cordial and nice.

The only issue I had was with the person who was assisting me during the mobile Chat check In...the person would not respond to any of my Chat messages and asked me for the same information 3 times after it had already been submitted...the process took well over 25 mins. And I did not get a resolution until I called in over the phone in spoke to an actual representative who was very helpful in getting me going. It took over 30 mins for me to get into my vehicle and it was counted against my 4 hour rental time so basically I was cheated out of 30 mins, due to an unprofessional Chat representative.

Be clear that this location is not safe nor does Uhaul take any responsibilities in regards to the location. Uhaul tends to be considered a quality trust worthy brand and the act of them cosigning on a location to hold their trucks is a brand extension and is MISSLEADING at best. I rarely have to use Uhauls services in my personal life, but due to my work, my employees use them often, begrudgingly, and now I know why. The app experience is pure trash. The customer service experience was a loop of transferred calls to no one who had any answers, frustrating to say the least. I was met by rude employees who said I lacked common sense and any issue was my fault.......With that being said, this experience has been awful and I wish it upon no one, especially employees of mine. I run logistics for large events and conferences throughout the Southwest and West coast. I no longer consider Uhaul a viable option on those events in any capacity and will work with local vendors to handle any moving logistics moving forward. I will also be implementing a voucher system for those I work with to NOT utilize Uhauls services on events I am working.

I had no problem at all with the location, truck, or the company that housed the rental. My only issue is with U-Haul themselves for trying to tack on an extra $50 worth of charges for a truck that I drove less than 10 miles in the time I had rented it. I had returned it early, about 12 hours early, and when handling the check-in through the website on my phone, it listed 2 different charges related to fuel costs. I picked the truck up with a 1/4 tank, maybe a hair below that, and I returned it with a little above an 1/8 of a tank. There was a slight difference in the gas I used and since I didn't get it with a full tank and was told nothing about dropping it off with a full tank, I didn't fill it up before dropping it back off. I expected some small charge for the gas I used since I didn't replace it, which is usual with rental vehicles of all sorts and was ok with that, thinking it would be like $5 a gallon or something. I knew it couldn't have been more than 1 gallon used since I drove it about 10 miles total. There was something called a "fuel smartcharge" or something that was $35 on the check in charges which I never heard of or agreed to. It appeared to be a flat rate charge though and when I saw that I almost took the truck home and intended on dropping it off to a person the next day but then I would be adding more miles and using more fuel that I would be responsible for. What was supposed to be a $30 rental plus maybe $10 for mileage ended up totaling over $90. I won't recommend anyone use U-Haul unless they speak to someone when they pick up and drop off the vehicle so they don't get hit with hidden fees like I did. I should have taken the truck home and spoke to someone when i returned it but didn't have time to arrange that after having a friend drive with me to drop it off early that night. U-Haul's web service needs a lot of work. There was no option to speak to someone either and I waited on hold for 10 minutes before the call disconnected when I tried calling that night when I dropped it off.

I planned on checking out on-line using app for an after-hours pickup. However, the cell phone app and the on-line check out process was impossible to navigate, but ultimately because I was late, I was able to check out vehicle with the staff there. If I had to check it out during off-hours, I probably would not have been able to getting the vehicle using on-line service.

The first place I went did not have the unit I reserved. The second place was not open when I arrived. While I was on the phone with U Haul the store Opened. We were able to get the unit we needed.
