American Auto personnel were extremely polite. He came out and hooked the trailer up for me and asked if I had any questions. After hours drop off was very convenient.Rich B.
Two things. Consider that SOME customers might want to use BOTH the U-Haul application on a cell phone AND in-person service. This was the case with me. I vastly prefer doing it in-person when possible, and this was my plan for the pick up. I wanted the ap ONLY in case there was no one to speak with at the drop-off location on a Saturday. As it turned out, I used "in-person" on both ends, but it seems to cause issues if one uses BOTH "in-person" and "the app" as they do not appear to be "in-sync" with each other. Also, it would be good if the driveway were plowed out before 09:00 on a day following a significant snow-fall. As it turned out, I was able to get my car in and back out, but it was a bit dicey with 4 or 5 inches of new snow. The place was well-kept, but the snow was a bit challenging.David M.

It took me 10 minutes to find the location, 20 minutes to get access to the key, and another 20 minutes to return the key. So I lost almost an hour of my rental time with your stupid rental process. I'm unlikely to ever do business with you again.Lee A.

First off the original location that I had reserved the truck from never put my reservation through so as I was getting to the site I watched what was supposed to be the truck I rented drive off. When I questioned what happened the owner of the rental property told me that she handed my reservation off to someone and it never got put in, not to mention the credit card that was used was still wrote down on the piece of paper where anyone had access to it. She did however help me find a new location that was 10 miles further from where my original site was. Personally I don't think I should be charged for the extra miles being that it wasn't my fault that someone dropped ball. I'm going to be moving my whole house to the Indianapolis area in the next Month and a half to two months, why should I try and rent from them again?Tim M.

Poor cell service. My location could not be found. It took 45 minutes to rent a truck using the app, this experience was terribleJim W.
There was no one at the pick up place. The whole on-line process when you are standing in a parking lot was absolutely not needed. I needed to take a selfie and upload as well as pics of the front and back of my drivers license. And on top of all that the hand dolly I also pre ordered and pre paid along with the truck was not in the truck. Since no one was at the pick up place I had to load with a dolly, not fun.Peter P.

Cab of truck had cigarette butts in it, empty pop bottles under the seat, a pack of cigarettes under the seat along with 2 Bic lighters. I cleaned the inside when I got home and left the windows down for a couple days to air out the cab along with spraying it with Fabreaze The back of the truck was clean and appeared to be swept.William S.

It took 40min to check in through the online check in; slow to load and frequently freezing and having to reload. Almost as long trying to check the vehicle back in. Not very satisfied.Philip W.

As my first time renting any type of vehicle I was shocked at the $42 charge for fuel! I would have certainly replaced the $10 or $15 worth of fuel that I used had I knowen! I was completely under the impression that was part of the .99 cents per mile charge but I guess it's not. I am waiting to hear where that was stated during the checkout/checkin process because it could have been my mistake as the entire overall moving process was very unexpected and chaotic so it may have been my fault but as it stands right now I feel burned that it was a hidden charge. Outside of that I found everything else to be very convenient especially the online reservation and checkout procedure capabilities at any time of the day or night.Randy G.

We used the mobile pickup feature to pick up the truck. I waited roughly 30 minutes for approval to take the truck. It took me three tries to contact an agent in the chat feature over roughly 20 minutes. There was then an issue with my alternate contact because it was not made clear that the contact would need to be immediately contacted and answer right away. Once we finally got into the truck, the tank was only 1/4 full. All around the pick up procedure was awful and delayed us by nearly an hour.Harrison M.

When a customer requests a specific pick up location it is because it is the most convenient for them so my suggestion is do not change that location, instead either mark â€œunavailableâ€ for that location or make the necessary accommodations. No one likes anything more complicated when they are moving. Would like to add that my pickup location was a surprisingly great experience! Very friendly staff and was extremely helpful!!Valerie D.

It was difficult to "dig out" the truck after rain, snow and all of it stuck like concrete to the windshield. In addition, the back door was frozen shut. We had to melt the seal by heating the back lip. Other than that, it was a GREAT experience, as usual.Liz B.

The workers were late to the appointment. They did not arrive on time for my pick-up. They eventually showed up, but they were late. If you are going to rent from them on the weekend I would not recommend. Maybe it is different during the week.Brandon H.

I refilled truck with $35 in gas 1 minute before dropping off and made sure returned at same level but now they are trying to charge me additional fee for fuel. I will contact my credit card and stop this additional charge.Russell S.

We had arrangements to pick up at 8AM on Saturday. We were called at 4:55 PM on Friday night telling us about a location pickup change and could not pick up until 10:00 AM. We were not happy about this pickup time change and asked to pick up Friday night, but were then told they were closing in 5 minutes. We could have been there in 10 minutes to get it. Not good customer service to change at this late time.Tony P.

Unfortunately, the truck had a bad transmission and it got worse and worse as the trip progressed. It was barely shifting by the time I got to the drop off location. It would be good if they would check it after a drop off before sending it out again. Sometimes it would shift OK, sometimes it wouldn't shift out of first without staying at 3+ RPM for a significant amount of time.(I've driven these trucks before, I'm not a newbie who thinks it will shift like a car.) By the end, it was revving to 4 RPM when I braked!! I'm just thankful I made it to my destination and didn't end up broken down on the side of the road.Jan H.
