Our U-Haul boxes arrived 5 days late. We had planned everything on "U-Haul guaranteed delivery" . Since delivery was late, we had a terrible time till our U-Haul boxes arrived. We (a family of 4) had to stay at hotel for 5 nights. It cost us almost $800. U-Haul only refunds $50 for each late day, this means we paid $600 extra. I have made a claim about our hotel expenses, and hope U-Haul at least reimburse this $600. This amount shouldn't be a big deal for a company like U-Haul which prioritizes customer satisfaction.

Booked online, received confirmation, went to pick it up and it was at another location. Went to that location and it was a different size of unit. Did the 24-7 pick up and it didn't work, waited 15min, then called, waited another 15min before talking to representative. The bill ended up being more cause Of mileage being 1.28km.

I used two rentals from two different locations in Grande Prairie AB. The first at Rentco Tools went smooth. It was busy so had to wait sometimes but staff was polite. The second at All McG Anchors had some challenges. The staff was polite and helpful but I had to go 2 separate times to buy adapters and connections for the hitch. They did hitch it up for me (in the rain to boot). I didn't notice how low and long it was until I got home and started to pack. The weight had the hitch much too low for travel although it was well within weight restrictions and the hitch had to be adjusted. It still was low but I traveled with caution and all went well. Then when I got to my destination the date was entered wrong from the pick up location that the drop off location had to deal with.

The actual booking was fine. I was was told not to pick my uhaul up before 1230, so at 1235pm I tried to use the app to pick up, as that location was not open. It wouldn't let me take my selfie picture to confirm it was actually me picking it up. I was on hold/on the phone for close to 45 minutes. I spoke with 4 different representatives, only to discover that my booking was screwed up because I followed the instructions I was given, and was "late in my pickup". I was counting on having the dolly I had paid for to transport a fridge, and it wasn't provided. This lead to my pulling a muscle in my back trying to move it when I really shouldn't have without a dolly. When I went to return the uhaul, I came across the same problem of not being able to take a picture to attach (this time, of the dashboard to show the fuel and miles). Worried that I would be in trouble for not returning the uhaul properly, I called.... again... was on hold... again. This time for over 20 minutes. This whole process was awful.

The truck rented was completely dirty and destroyed my 2000 dollar mattress boxspring and dresser, I also had ordered a mattress cover at old there were none in stock so I had to go without. And if the truck was clean it would not be a problem. I do not recommend anyone go to rent from this location. It is horribly maintained and customer service is is unwilling to take responsibility for there faults. I am not impressed this is a house hold moving company that people rent from you not only had what was needed in stock. There are oil stains in the bed of the truck which also had an accumulation of dirt grass and mud not swept out what so ever staining my 2 mattressEs boxspring and dresser bottom. Which I didn't notice till I put on my floor in my house! No one should rent these vehicles for house hold items. I also NOT told this truck did NOT come with a lock. as when I rented last time from visa they provided one so I assumed they would do the same but never mentioned it upon pick up. Which wasted time and km of mine when I could not unlock the lock attached to the truck. I spent half my moving day cleaning your truck and my furniture wasting my time and KM WHICH I PAID FOR. Because they didn't have a mattress bag Instock... this could have been avoided.

When availability is indicated at location requested we should get notification by phone that it was not. We went to Rentco to pick up the trailer and was told that they tried to contact us by phone to tell us they didn't have it and had to go to a different location. Not Impressed!!. Get to All MCG Anchors and find out we have to purchase an adaptor for the hook up! Again NOT IMPRESSED!!

It was the phone side of uhaul that was a circus. I had to have my call pulled and reviewed multiple times. I'd be quoted a price, then charged 60% more! So I waited like I was asked and nothing.. So I ended up calling and they had not even began to review the call so I waited 40 minutes on that call alone for my price to be granted as stated on the first call. Then I drop off at location given to me and it's the wrong location, so I'm called multiple times (5) to sort out where their truck and trailer are. Different people every time, and now I have a late fee because they can't sort it out. Also still charged hundreds more that quoted price, so guess what. Wait for call to be pulled again.. I have a record of 19 phone calls to simply rent and drop off! 3 of which are 40 to 60+ minutes and others not far behind. Terrible experience on my end. Very polite, but very incompetent. Period.

The customer service at this location was great.However,your online booking system leaves a lot to be desired.1 text,2 voicemails,each telling me a different location for pickup.Had to call all 3 locations to get confirmation as to where the truck ACTUALLY was.In short,your online service is a disservice to your locations.Get it together u-haul.

The lady was friendly, but didn't know what she was doing. She didn't enter the fuel properly, which made returning the U-Haul difficult. The truck had 1/8 of fuel at pick up and was already very dirty.

We were the first ones at the pick up location, another couple was forced in front of us from an area manger even though the local lady explained we were first. A potential upgrade was promised for two hours and not delivered. After two other clients no showed their pick up times we were still denied the promised upgrade. We wasted two hours of precious moving time being promised something that UHaul never planned on delivering. They ensured other clients were given a great experience at our expense. I would never recommend renting from this company. We followed all the rules, booked online, provided drivers information and credit cards in advance only to be punished for it. I have since called in to make a formal complaint and was told that a complaint could not be placed because it would be going against the person receiving it. A horrible experience all around!

Please check rental locations, I initially booked a 20 ft truck in Quesnel, the woman at the location there (Shell station) was rude, said she couldn't see, was completely unable to handle the job of renting out, and I finally had to cancel my order.

I rented a 17' moving van. When I was called to be notified of the change in size due to unavailability, I wasn't informed that the 10' van didn't have moving ramps. It would have been useful to know this before agreeing to the downsize. The lady at the front counter was very nice and pleasant. A much better experience than when I rented from Innisfail in Sept of 2018.!!

owner/operator at this location is rude and not up to delivering a U-Haul standard I have experienced anywhere else. Pickup started with her not adhering to her own hours / not communicating her shortened hours to the 1-800 people / opened late and then told me to get out and she was going to rent the trailer to someone else when I asked her if she was ready to go. Doesn't help hook up (another customer had to help me with that last rental), wanted to charge me to help hook up, and then wanted to sell me clevis hooks when she couldn't get trailer hooked up (other locations have had no problems with the 6x12 trailer on my truck). I wonder why U-Haul lets her continue to have this franchise when she discounts your brand so badly.

At time of pick the vehicle was 1/4 full of fuel! I estimated how much fuel I would have used, but ended up with the fuel tank at 1/2 full upon return! Why wouldn't U-Haul charge the previous customer for the cost of filling the tank and a service fee? Wasn't that the previous method? That way all I'd have to do was “fill” the tank and not have to incur extra costs!!

Great deal for a uhaul. My only complaints are that only one woman working the desk so get there early. She said that I had to bring it back July 1st for the next customer and that the store WAS OPEN. When I showed up that day before the drop off time, NOONE was there. Didn't answer the phone.

We had three different pick up spots and there was an issue that 2 of the bookings were across town but booked for the same pick up times. We picked up one unit and arrived late to the other and discovered that they had actually closed while we were at the other location. The dealer stayed and serviced us anyways which we much appreciated. This timing issue seems like it could have been avoided with better communication.

This was not the location I had originally intended to use but was advised to do so in a voice message left by U-Haul. The location was hard to find being on a closed off street. The lady at the desk was nice enough but I had to unhitch the trailer myself (something I've never had to do before.

Rented van and dolly. Had to go to second location for dolly. Lights not working on dolly so sent to 3rd location. Took 2.5 hours. Should be able to go to 1 location for whole order and have it clean ready and in good repair.

Customer service refuses to stay on the phone and help you and the vehicles are not up to date with safety inspections. Also your final bill will NOT be what they quote you. Budget for double!!!!

The front desk guy was helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed the U-Haul experience. I asked for 2 extra days of holding on too the U-Haul so I could store my belongings in it while we unpacked and there was no extra charge. I really liked their flexibility. Thanks U-Haul. Great service.

Stop changing pick up/dropoff addresses! HAVE A STATIONARY/ RENTAL PLACE in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canda, AND MAINTAIN IT. Also, rentals sitting out in an open paking lot (with no yard persons to clear snow) In a city where it snows 8 months a year. (REALLY)? NO ONSITE SINAGE, (Adjacent propiters have signs pointing where U-Haul is in thier doors) Very professional.... Keep ONE FRANCHISE/location, MAINTAIN IT. Crap, 6 addressses in 4 years, plus the rates for rentals only go up? Equipment/and instructions, were frozen, iced up,under snow,with absolutley no yard help..., are you kidding me,. The gentleman at desk only RUNS OUT to take a picture of our vehicle attachment after, and I mean (AFTER) attachment , we had complained trailer lighting had failed. It was due to groumd issue, probably from moisture/rust issues. The prices never reflect "YOUR" value (per company slogan)" in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canda. The only representative/person "on site" were helpful, but very over-whelmed. Your garbage "reservation systems" (quotations as there were 2 people ahead of us making inquireis), (walk ins), (at our reserved time) , then one of the couples rented a motorized unit, which added 45 minutes to OUR starting), to pick up our so called "reserved equipment".. considering YOUR/Their, add insurance, add boxes, add dolly, add packing tape, add mats, add debit card in vehicle, add customer banter.... Also, tailer was grubby inside and out, inside not bad, outside sucked..... Non-issue as all shipping goods were plastic wrapped. Full credit to online resevation as she over-preformed. She was also very friendly and knowledgable. Overall, got OUR task done, but, NOT AT VALUE as advertized

The rep was blunt, unfriendly & made us back up & unhitch the car carrier ourselves while he stood there & watched. We had to back the 26' truck into a tight parking place by his office while he stood there. Is he not able to do these 2 things himself? He was slow on the computer & Corrected us for not having our insurance & contract together in the official U-haul folder. We felt bossed around at every step. A generally unpleasant man compared to Kean Auto in BC

Took forever to get the truck,had to tell the guy how to use computer to get it,truck only came with a 1/4 tank, was dirty in cab and cargo area,he said just came in and didnt get a chance to clean it, spent 250 in gas on that gas guzzling pig, didnt want a truck that big and a truck that big should have a diesel engine not gas, i reserved a 20' witch was plenty for what i needed and i reserved it 2 weeks before i needed it,it should have been available

After returning the trailer and abiding by the contract. I have still not received my deposit back from U-Haul. I have made several phone calls to the 1-800 number with little to no success. The local U-Haul office was also unwilling to assist me. I will never rent from U-Haul again in the future.

Truck was dirty inside and out. No washer fluid. Gas tank had a huge hole in the top. Leaked 20 litres at the gas station and every time I hit a bump it shot gas out. We have pictures and a video from behind for proof. I want a discount.
