My problem wasn't specifically with this location but my entire uhaul experience. I was supposed to pickup my 26' truck on Thursday night. A few hours before pickup I get a text that says my rental isn't available for pickup I until the next morning. So I call and after being on hold and talking to the wrong people for over an hour and a half, I was told I would have to go 40 minutes away to this location for pickup the next morning. I asked if they can guarantee that it would be there and I was promised that it would be. So the next morning I drive to this location and my truck isn't there. After about a half an hour of back and forth I was told that the best they could do was give me a 20' truck but instead of a one way rental, it had to be returned there. Where I was moving to was 4 hours away. So I had to drive it back there and have someone follow me to pick me up, costing us each another 8 hours. I called uhaul to let them know I was displeased and I was on hold for over two and a half hours, being hung up on 4 different times by four different people who put me on hold. On top of this the truck smelled like cigarettes, there was ash in overs cup holder, it was sticky from whatever was spilt in there, and the check engine light was on the entire time. This is unacceptable and a huge waste of my time for something that is supposed to be convenient. And now I need to figure out how to get the rest moved as I couldn't fit everything because I didn't get the truck I ordered.

This was by far such an easy and smooth pick-up. This experience was a great one. It was nice to walk in to no wait, business hours as indicated, and they person was available and ready with paperwork, knowledge, and overall made my experience very pleasurable.

While store is in a good location it is somewhat isolated and could use more safety lighting for after dark customers. It may be difficult to find based on address alone. Additional guidance in advertisements would be helpful for example noting that one need "Access by a frontage road on north side of Lake St." Jessie is great and works hard. Need more cargo vans available for rent. Parking lot pot holes need to be fixed.

We arrived for our scheduled pick up to find out that although we reserved two bags of blankets & furniture none of our equipment was there for us. It cost me an additional $100 to pay two workers to drive to another location to find the blankets & dolly. We were them late for my client. What's the point of placing an order if you don't provide a complete order without no notice. I lost money due to their negligence.

The Addison location and it's owner were nice however, I will never use Uhaul services!! I've never experienced a service where you make a reservation and it's not guaranteed. I reserved at 26' ft truck from one location, was told it wasn't available and had to pick up from a distant location. When I arrived to pick up at that location on my moving day, I was told there was no truck and that I had to go to another location another 20miles away to pick up a smaller truck. I had hired movers waiting for me and a truck for several hours. This process and service was nothing but a nightmare and the associates working have no idea how to handle or deal with these situations. It's stressful and difficult enough having to move and to put this added stress on your customers--no guarantee of a truck--is unheard of! Also, the blankets in the truck that I paid to use were all wet.

The customer service at this location needs improvement, along with the units themselves. The units look beat up, and unreliable. The customer service is terrible, and likes to yell at you.

Corporate screwed up not the local place. Emails sent except for one told me the location was 210 E Irving Park Rd, Wood Dale, il. 60191. There was no U-Haul company at that place, so please delete that from your database. I went there and had to travel back home, and was on hold for 15 minute until a rep told me the location was in Addison, il, on Lake St. A bit frustrating and wasted time!!!
