I was told I’d have a full tank of gas and then some just in case I received about a 1/4th of The tank and they charged me extra for not returning it full. Dumbest fucking service I’ve ever received. A big JOKE. Will NEVER tell someone to use uhaul. I didn’t even get a dolly or ANYTHING.

The only issue was that this was not the location we reserved at. When we showed up at our reserved location they were renting the van we reserved to someone else. This added 20 miles of mileage and gas cost to our rental.

Do walk around inspections before renting trucks to customers similar to car rentals. I received a truck that had the front bumper bent in. I noticed it, but assumed it was from a prior incident and didn't make much of it when picking up the truck. I did an after hours drop off at another location later in the day. I found out later that I was automatically charged $1,200 for the front bumper damage that I did not cause because it was not noted by the location where I picked it up. I only found this out when viewing what was invoiced to my credit card. I am now stuck trying to get my money back from Uhaul's insurance company with no one returning my call. This is extremely disappointing as I have now funded a truck repair for damage that I did not cause and I've spent 3+ hours dealing with this issue on the phone with absolutely no progress towards resolution.

Worked directly with Sam here - he listens and then looks for ways at every turn to make this easy and affordable. I've rented, moved, and used a truck from this location and every single aspect has been friendly, easy, affordable, clean and accommodating. I've always had decent service from U-Haul over other moving/storage companies, but this Chaska location is superior even within the company.

When we went to drop off the truck we found the business locked up and we had to return the vehicle online which cost us valuable time and inconvience. The business website stated the were open until 6 pm. but the entrance gate was chained and padlocked.

Truck bed soiled with areas of wet compacted sandy soil. Pull out walkway covered with wet sandy soil - not usable. Very disappointing!

Everyone was pleasant, pricing was reasonable, and they warmed up the truck before we arrived on a very cold day! (BONUS POINTS!). My only suggestion is take out the extra moving pads and dolly out of the back of the truck. It was totally in the way of our load and unncessary. I lost key space over stuff I didn't need.

Booked a truck weeks in advance only to find out that it wasn’t available in the location desired. Had to drive 70 miles to nearest location. Was charged for extra miles and it was the fault of uhaul. Also, why book ahead when there are apparent issues with availability? I had to make several phone calls to find a truck. Returned the truck early only to get charged extra for miles. Won’t be using uhaul again if there is another option.

Will use other UHaul locations this place does not offer customer service and racks up charges. Rude, charged excess charges for gas (we replenished to where it was when we picked up). Said it was a tiny bit off $19.00 extra dollars, and for being one hour late another full day charge! Look elsewhere for UHaul trucks there’s plenty of places around to chose from.

Dave the manager was very grouchy. Not at all welcoming or personable. We stopped at the gas station to put back the gas we had used. We had drove a total of 40 miles with the two U-Haul trucks so to put the gas back at a 1/4 tank and 3/4 tank didn’t take much. (The quantity of gas at pickup is what we dropped it off at). Dave said it was a smidgen off so we would be charged an additional $19.00 or we could go put more gas in it. (Sara the receptionist waived the first fee and rolled her eyes at his comment. Thank you Sara). The second truck was charged the $19 some dollars. Then we find we were charged an additional day because it was one hour late. Way to earn return customers, NOT! Guess they needed to make a bit more money for the day! Anyway we won’t be dealing with this company again other locations are so much more accommodating, friendly and personable.

I arrived early to pick up the van I arrived before 1:45 to get the van and left right at 3pm. I was in the office for over an hour just to get the keys. Her old kept saying we have all the time in the world. No, I was early and severely delayed until he had to close because of how slow this was. He was annoyed and was snarky saying I should have filled out all my information online . I asked him if it was to prompt me because it never did, nor was there an email to fill in ahead of time. He said oh no, I'm not sure.. I don't know the online process. So why mention that I should have done this online when I just asked if there is a prompt because I never got one? Also no dolly again. So I had to hire two movers because the dolly I ordered was non-existent. Because I waited so long, I had a mass amount of costs due to lack of competency and no communication what so ever. There were no apologies and he kept complaining and saying to take some time and slow down. RIDICULOUS! I OUT OF POCKET COSTS DUE TO NOTHING OF MY FAULT AND POOR PLANNING. I injured my back having to load heavy workout equipment without the use of a dolly. I should not have to pay for that rental.

While the truck pickup went smoothly and the truck itself was OK, I did have some frustrating issues. Both the cargo door locking mechanism and the cargo door were very difficult to open. The hook portion of the lock, that flips clockwise to secure the cargo door, or the lever that a padlock attaches too were damaged and took great force to disengage/engage. The while opening the cargo door it would raise up about 4-6” and stop. And while closing the cargo door it would lower about 3/4 down and stop. So there was a 1’+ section of the cargo door rollers that would catch and, again, it would take a great deal of force to raise and lower the door. Also, I tried numerous times to contact someone at the Chaska site and I no one answered their phone or returned my calls after leaving three messages! Your online help was no help whatsoever. I waited over 20 minutes, twice, to be helped by an agent and lost contact with the first one, having to repeat my questions twice. And then found out they could not extend the rental of the truck at their end. Very frustrating after trying unsuccessfully to contact the Chaska office repeatedly! And then there was the return of the truck. It was after hours (9:45pm) when I arrived at the Chaska site to return the truck. I attempted to use the online return option and encountered a glitch with the application. I tried numerous times to complete the process, but was unable to take a picture of the dashboard, to confirm mileage and gas-tank level, via the U-Haul return application (the screen as black except for the “shutter release” button, the “accept picture” button and the “cancel” button) and there was no option to attach a picture or skip that section. So I had to drop off the key and contract at the gate and hope for the best. The last item is just silly, as the truck mileage was padded by a whole 1/10th of a mile. Why? Other than the pick-up process being handled well and the truck running well, the whole experience was extremely frustrating!!!
