We had a very difficult time to use the straps because the whole system needed to be oiled. Two mechanics had to come and help and I had to pay them extra just to tighten the straps as the ratchets were stuck. They even mentioned that U-Hail should never leave equipment in that state leave their groundsMarie-Noel M.

If the staff were any more laclustre they'd be comatose. Office noted as opening at 6:30 to 10am on Sunday. Noone showed up until 8:40am. No inspection of the trailer I hired, no assistance/guidance with hooking it up. Staff told me he had to come out and take a photo once I'd figured out hitching. Waited another 20 mins after hooked up and had to go back in the office to remind the guy he needed to take a photo. Between picking up and dropping off, the two staff can't have spoken more than 10 words. Awful service, nothing to give me any reason to use this rental location ever again.Ian B.

1. Received call for early pick up after hours via online app, this was good. 2. Arrived at site to pick up after hours but this location would not recognize my GPS location to validate. This was confirmed not to be an issue with my cell phone. Required to two separate caps to UHaul customer service for a total of 1 hr 45 minutes on hold. 3. Key lock box not readily visible at location: black box on black lamp pole; also, lock very difficult to open. 4. Once app processed manually, and key in hand, discovered app recorded truck start mileage was approximately 17,000 miles less than odometer. This caused an excessive over mileage warning on truck return via app at drop-off location. The UHaul app would not allow me to enter the correct odometer reading even with uploaded photo. Again, one hour on hold to speak with customer service. Fortunately I took photos of the odometer readings on check-out and return to substantiate the actual mileage.Peter H.
This was an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. I ordered a trailer from 10-10. Somehow my order was changed until 7 am. I was getting calls and voicemails threatening a 500$ fine if not returned immediately. I worked until 3 am the night before, and knew FULL WELL there was absolutely no chance I would be returning it at 7am. We booked our rental from one location, and the night before the move we were informed, with an email that, we had to pickup the vehicle at another location. This was inconvenient and cost us more money because of the km. charges. Upon pickup the blankets and dolly were not ready to go. Everything was fine until checking out. It was HOT HOT and it took me an hour to complete. Really an hour. My iphone would not send my location and there is no way to so this without location. I had to get assistance which took about 15 minutes to connect. With help, I got location to work. Then the number of steps to check out for someone who was frustrated and sweaty and dehydrated and overheated.....was MADDENING.Paul C.

Please make sure that the needs of the customer is satisfied before charging them. I was charges two times but i asked for a rental of 24 hours and the person sitting over there gave me a rental for only 2 hours and by the time i go back they were closed. The cab of the truck was filthy. We had to sanitize and the cloths were black when we finished. In a Covid world, this is not acceptable. The app was difficult and when I finally managed to check in, we were told to wait an extra 10 minutes for the location to open! Reserved the truck at the Alliston location but had to go to Barrie because the old location closed and the location was too new to be available online! The cost was higher than quoted. Indicated this when returning the vehicle but no one has reached out to us. Very disappointed overall.Judi G.
I wouldn't put it on Able moving but definately Uhaul themselves, but I had a 26ft van reserved for 4pm, I showed up and there was no 26ft van to be seen.... I said I wasn't leaving until I had a van, as my family is ready to move NOW! After an hour and a half of both myself and the representative being on the phone to uhaul to resolve this, being passed around from rep to rep, being put on hold they gave an impression that they could not resolve the issue, and did not care about my issues, one rep had the nerve to say we have no reservation under that number.. Anyway, able moving solved my issue and gave me an in town 15ft van, and a trailer to make up for the room, as long as I bought it back for him to use it in town, he did me that favor so I returned it, I appreciate able movings efforts, but uhaul themselves have very little care about their customers and zero ability to solve issues. I'll definitely think twice about using them again.. as should you.Nial B.

The service attendant guy came out and took a couple of pictures of the hitch and then left. The overall process was OK. When I left the lights were working. When I reached my destination the lights were not working. There must have been a loose or cracked pin on the light connecter as when I removed it to see why it wasn't working one of the pin stayed attached to my light connector. I tried to contact but they were closed there wasn't an after hours number to call in case of an emergency it went to voicemail. I then had to drive with no lights on my trailer risking a nasty fine. Upon picking up the truck. No masks were worn by the people that work there. The fees weren't explained as I should've only paid $19.95 instead of $29.95. Once arriving at the truck my son and I took 20 minutes to wipe down the inside of the truck. It was so dirty and the floors were muddy. They were suppose to open 7am, however the person did not arrive till after 8am. He had no idea as to how to hookup the trailer. He did not know how to use the UHaul software to process the invoice. I took 20 minutes for the manager to call the clerk back. In the mean time I had to wait, wondering how does this location stay in business. With out doubt one of the worst experience with UHail. I found the manager to be rude even though I only talked with him on the clerks phone. The clerk was inexperience constantly apologized. Stay away from this location. I arrived to pick up the reserved trailer. They only had one, with a broken tail light. I was offered a van with $50 off, as they didn't have what I reserved. I agreed; I didn't have any other choice. I received my bill, which ended up at $122.09. No $50 rebate as promised. I was also charged for gas, even though I left the van at the same level I left with. My original $38 I was expecting for a trailer ended up much more expensive! Poor costumer service. It took more than 48 hours to process the return. The crew should be able to explain the hole procedure to the client instead of wait till the client call them complaining. Horrible beyond words! I booked online for a Saturday pickup and the place was closed at 11am! So I just hooked up the trailed myself and took it. Can you imagine if I had reserved a truck and needed the keys? Since when is renting a trailer self serve? The only thing that made this ok at all is I called U-Haul to tell them I took the trailer and they were great and very helpful. Returning was easy as well as I could do everything from my phone. But this place is a joke. How can they be closed but yet still take the reservation?steven E.
Drop off was great.....there was a drop box. Pick up....whole different story.....no one there, the app was useless to contact customer service since their hours don't begin until 9am. When I contacted the 1-800- line, the rep was awesome and did what she could to help out, but without someone on site, that was limited. Another customer arrived 30 minutes into our dilemma and ended up contacting the site owner. Once we did same, we found out where the keys were on our way within 5 minutes. Although I called them and told them when I was returning the truck, which was before noon on a weekday and during normal business hours, the place was locked with no sign on the door saying when they would be back. I waited for 15 min. No one arrived. So I threw the keys in the drop box and left. Make sure that when someone books a truck more than a month in advance that the truck is in the area where it was booked. Not send them to a location more than an hour away only to find out that it was at a different location and then try to book it out when the person that reserved the truck was on the way to get it. When I picked up the truck, it had 41 miles to empty on the gas gauge. I was in a hurry and didn't plan for a stop at a gas station. I also didn't know how much gas I would use, so, since I returned it with well more than when I started, I ended up overpaying for gas.Kevin W.

Quote given online for 9ft cargo van was for $19. After picking up vehicle I checked my email for paperwork and the bill said $89. 6 hours later I dropped the vehicle off and wanted to talk to someone about the price, but the only person there was on the phone and I was in a hurry. I should have waited and talked to him though, because checking my email 2 days later I found 3 different bills, with 3 different amounts(ranging from $119 to $155) all sent my way for the same rental. Clearly their pricing is deceptive, and it seems like they're completely unorganized. I will look to other companies when I need to rent in the future.nathan D.

We went to this location to pick up our 26ft truck, which we reserved the day before online. Set the booking time for 8am as that was when the business opened. When we got there at 8, there was no one there. The guy finally showed up 15-20 minutes late. Even though he was late, he did not seem to care and slowly proceeded to open the business, and eventually got to us. He did not seem to even be aware that there was a reservation for that morning. He was confusing, hard to understand, not very good with customers, and seemed impaired(and by that I mean hangover/drugs/something). He did not explain how to verify/dispute if the mileage or fuel was not as the contract stated or even tell us what they were. He emailed the rental agreement to me with the info, but I was unable to access from my phone. When I got home, I looked at it and the fuel was 1/8 tank more than what was actually in it. I called to tell him, and he said he would correct it. When I returned the truck, it had not been corrected at all. Good thing I took pictures of the dash when we picked up and again when we dropped off. The place I returned it helped me with the issue and made the correction. I will never, ever go to this location again, nor will I ever refer anyone to it. And being that we require Uhaul trucks and services for business purposes to haul large items that we cannot fit in our own trailers, I would not consider this place ever again to bring my business. this location should be avoided and not represent Uhaul anymore. Give the contract to someone who cares about customers.Kevin W.
