First, the pick up location, Aberdeen Shell, was not willing to honor my reservation time, which was 4pm. The employees insisted I arrive over an hour early to accommodate their schedule and when I arrived early, the Uhaul I reserved wasn't even there for another 40 minutes. Then, they would not release the truck to me without the truck number, which I was not given in my confirmation. I was forced to contact customer service, who could not provide me with the truck number. The truck was not released to me until 4:45pm, nearly an hour after my scheduled reservation. The condition of the Uhaul was fine, but I would NOT recommend this location as they are unorganized and do not care about wasting time.Lindsey D.

Upon returning the U-Haul truck on 5/21/2022 at 7:20pm, the online self return services were not working. Therefore, I had to turn over the keys to the personnel working within the drop off location. The personnel working in the drop off location told me the U-Haul I rented would be processed for a return that night on 5/21/2022 and that I would receive a confirmation email of it's processing. The following morning (5/22/2022) at 11am, the time the truck needed to be returned by, I had not received an email so I stopped by the drop off location to get an update. The person working stated that the return process had not been started yet and proceeded to call their boss, who said it would be processed the following morning on 5/23/2022. After hearing this news I called the customer service line to see what I needed to do and ensure I did not get charged for additional days, when the truck and equipment were turned in on time. The customer service representative took some details from me and noted it and attached these detail to my account. I sent over the photo of the odometer I took and a screenshot of the time stamp of that photo. Needless to say, my move was not smooth, this hiccup added a lot of extra stress and could of been avoided if the online services were working properly.Sydney T.

My account was not set up for 24/7. Had to sit on the phone for 2 hours talking with 4+ different people to get my truck. The attendant at the gas station had to be on the phone to talk with the owner of the Penske site that was only avaialable Mon-Fri and I was scheduled to pick up on Saturday. Once I was to return the truck, I was unable to complete the check in process and had to just leave the truck. Had to sit on the phone for another 45 minutes . To now have additional charges for gas when I put gas in the truck. I am very unhappy and will push this issue to the TOP of Penske customer service. I am now currently on hold for another 50+ minutes to complain about the additional gas charges when I put gas in the truck when I dropped it off. This was very poorly set up and communicated and I will never use Uhaul again. I use them when ever I need a big truck but this has totally ruined my experience with them and will not allow anyone that I know to use them again if I can help it. Need a Manager to call me back at 443-760-6109. I am in need of $46.75 back in a refund at this point and very dissatisfied with the service that I have gotten. Never again.Karen D.

The attended was not helpful, I set up a contactless pickup and asked for assistance.. His response was other people do this every day, I'm not sure why you can't. The inside of the cab was very dirty and in times with the positivity rate of covid increasing the truck should be sanitized between customers.Justina B.

Uhaul smells like ass. There was a vape pen left in truck with who knows what in it. Check engine light is on. I got truck with less than 3/4 as stated on paper. Now I'm being charged $20 for gas when I only used the uhaul 5 total miles! Yall are a rip off. Also No pull ramp on the truck which i thought was standard.MARYANN Z.

Truck that I reserved (2 months in advance) was not available causing me to use a smaller truck and had to make an extra trip to reload the truck. I hired movers and this caused me to pay them an extra 3 hours which was not in my budget. I-haul changed my order time of pick up and did not notify me. I requested dolly's and they never told that they don't have them at that location. When I returned the truck at 6:55 the clerk refused to check me out and said they are closed but the doors were not locked and I was able to enter the u-haul office. This was a terrible experience and costed me an extra $300 hundred more in my move due to there reckless booking. I feel as though they should reimburse me at least half of my money back. For the amount of money I had to put out I could have used a moving company with their own truck. I would not recommend any using U-haul and definitely do not make reservations because they will make changes without contacting you and give your truck away.SHEILA R.

The cabin/dashboard area is covered with dust particles and smelly. Exterior and cargo areas are cleaner than cabin. It's quite evident that the Covid protocols are not being followed in between uses.MANOJ B.
i have never used this company before.. The price catches your eye on the truck but the price per mile is what gets you. Then the man tells me I have to fill up the truck after I use it. it definitely cost me a lot! When I opened the cab to the truck the smell of urine slapped me in the face. i told the employee and he just agreed with me, with no expression on his face just nodded his head.. with this truck being the only truck available for miles I had no choice but to take it. it made my stomach turn and it stuck to my clothes!!!!!!!!!!!Aimee H.
After a nightmare experience at Pulaski Liquors in Baltimore, the drop-off location was a dream. The Shell attendant was proactive, coming outside to tell us where to park the 20' U-Haul because the tanker truck was coming to fill up the gas station. We did as he instructed, and when we went inside we were met by a friendly person who not only recognized us from the last time we dropped of a rental van, but he had us checked out in minutes and sent us off with a smile. I would highly recommend this Shell location as a pick up or drop off location for U-Haul rentals.Martha Nayeli G.

Played phone tag off and on for five hours on the day I tried to rent a truck because my online account wouldn't work at all, my number ended up being wrong on my reservation, and I ended up with two reservations. Tried to pick up the truck after hours from a location and couldnt pick it up, spent 30-45 minutes on the phone to be hung up on, had to callback and get it figured out. When I tried to return the truck it I kept getting transfered around because no one could apparently help me with returning it, ended up returning it late, but I haven't been charged yet for the late fees, or I WILL be calling about them. I use U-Haul EVERY TIME I move, and this was by far the worst experience I've had with a company, ever. Will not be using again.Madelyne M.

The Gas station attendant I rented the truck from told me when I returned the truck I drove 30 miles and attempted too charge me which was totally incorrect I drove 5 miles never left the city of Aberdeen it was on fuel tank of gas when I got it and returned it on fuel tank I never put gas in it.I think it was very unprofessional that he would try to over charge me and he refused to give me any supervisors phone number or a way too speak too someone else.I don't want my credit card charged for that bogus amount of moneyTITO C.

This location was 20 minutes farther away than the location I made my reservation for. This added about an hour to our move day. I made the reservation for a location that I knew and trusted, and received an email the day before switching the reservation to this location. When we arrived, there was no signage other than uhaul trucks parked in the parking lot of a Shell gas station which was indeed the pickup location. The gas station was one that I would also not use frequently because it was run down and poorly managed. There was also no uhaul signage inside, but the clerk was able to help us, and we received the truck with no other problems. Would not recommend though.Barclay G.

This was the worst experience ever.I had to pay $200 for a $20.00 truck. Was moving a bedroom set from aberdeen md. to Columbia Md. I told the gentleman that I wanted to drop the truck off in Columbia, somehow he put it in for a intown trip so they said I had to return the truck back to aberdeen Wich was not possible because I live in Columbia. that's why I rented it from aberdeen so it would be less miles. Charged me for blankets that I never got or wanted.payed for every mile, no free miles. Not my mistake it was the guy at aberdeen she'll mistake but I'm paying for it. NEVER AGAIN!!JASON B.

it took 1 hour for me to get the truck, they had a single person working . that was talking to two people on the phone the whole time and waiting on gas customers and snack store customers in between he would fill out what of he need on the uhaul system.Jerry W.
There was 1 employee for the entire store. Since it was at a convenient store/gas station, he could not help us effectively. He had other customers to tend to at the register. After about 45 minutes of being helped then waiting, we finally got the u-haul. He asked us, "do you know what number truck your supposed to have?" Um, no we don't? I thought that was the employees job, not ours. It was not a pleasant pick up experience and hope we never have to do it again.Matthew S.

Clerk was working in gas station/convenience store/UHaul counter alone. I arrived at 10:20AM & did not get pickup completed until 11:15AM. He was not professional at all with a so what attitude. I called UHaul while there to see if I could go somewhere else to get a truck but was only given another phone number to call to see where I could go but I was on a time schedule. This 15' truck used more gas than the 26' truck we rented 1 month prior and traveled the exact same distance.CAROLYN D.

I've used Uhaul many times over my entire adult life no lessthan 2 dozen times. Never has it taken longer than 15-20 minutes to get the keys, sign the contract and be on my way. Today it took an hour and a half and while I am a sympathetic and understanding person it was a BRUTALLY awful experience. The online check out wouldn't allow me to decline hiring movers, and it forced me to complete the process by walking into the building. The poor clerk at the counter was under siege with customers buying lotto and cigarettes and at the time i walked in there were 3 other customers returning UHAUL's and disputing the charges or having other issues. We are still in Phase 1 of COVID, and being a healthcare worker I did my best to keep some social distance, but I had to use the UHAUL cell phone, pens, and what looked like unsanitary table top, and chairs all while waiting for this ordeal to pass over. The only thing that was easy was dropping it off in the dropbox was relatively painless, but I learned my lesson to NEVER rent a uhaul from a gas station on a Sunday ever again.RICHARD C.

The location was wonderful, but I am very disappointed by your business practices. I was not allowed to rent a uhaul because of an unpaid fine by my alternate contact. That had nothing to do with me, and it took an hour and a half to get it resolved. And by resolved, I mean I paid that fee and had to wait until the block was released, which took even more time. I will not be using this company again for anything else. I would rather pay for movers than patronize your business.Marissa M.
