Very straightforward rental reservation system! Fast check out with site representative. Modern trucks.
SCOT RThere was an AirTag in the U-Haul I was using inside the fuse box under the hood and the business did not try to help. Not in finding it or helping me get another truck and they were still going to charge me if I refused to use the U-Haul with a random AirTag following me. Very unprofessional and unhelpful

SCOTT SMade reservation for 12 hours instead of 24 hours PURELY to allow your vehicle to be more available to other renters. PURELY AS A COURTESY TO U-HAUL MAKING MONEY. Returned 50 minutes late and was changed for an additional 24 hour day as I agreed to in your contract. Obviously, I should have reserved for 24 hours and withheld your vehicle from your rental pool for longer than necessary. Your policy is abusive.
THOMAS HStaff was friendly, truck worked well. Only thing I would recommend is be careful with the gas and check the fuel level closely. It cost me $14 for 3.5 gallons of gas and I only used the truck for 6 miles total. There is no way it was full when I picked it up even though the gage showed it as so.

Verenice SWhile the change in my pickup location was unplanned and happed the day before my pickup, it was very well managed and I am happy with that experience and the vehicle itself was very nice and clean and well maintained....... that is where the good things end I am frankly incredibly frustrated with the experience I had picking up and dropping off the van at the AAA Fuels location. This review is all based on the AAA Fuels location itself and the employee working there For pickup I completed all paperwork, ID verification, etc online ahead of time and when I went inside to pick up the keys was met by an incredibly rude woman who insisted that I purchase the Uhaul optional insurance or she would not give me the keys. I was on a very tight timeline so dealing with this woman was an exceptional pain. After explaining to her repeatedly that the insurance option is optional and I had already completed all paperwork and ID verification she called a superior and argued with him on the phone for a while before making me redo all the paperwork I had just completed. This included her printing out my already electronically signed rental document (which had my electronic signature on the bottom) and having me sign it in pen again after she handwrote on it that I refused the optional additional insurance. She called me rude and problematic and I was incredibly flustered when I finally (30+ mins later) got the keys and was ready to leave the facility. She kept saying that her location was different and they have different rules because people have stolen vehicles or gotten in accidents. I know the rules are not different at different locations and stood my ground, but if another customer who maybe had not had as much experience renting from Uhaul as I have was treated this way, they may have felt forced to buy the additional insurance. Upon dropoff ~2 days later, I was dreading having to interface with the same woman again so instead sent my husband inside to perform drop off while I waited in the car. It was the same woman working who was again incredibly rude to my husband. She messed something up on the UHaul documentation side (I believe she forgot to record the odometer setting from the last few rentals) and insisted we had driven the van 1700 miles and would be charged as such. We drove ~60-80 miles from the pickup location to Libterty Station in San Diego and back. After my husband told her there was no way we had driven that far she was again rude to him and told him that we would have to pay for an additional rental day when we were ~30 mins later on our drop off. He and I both knew that was wrong so just told her whatever she needed to hear to let us leave. I have honestly never had to deal with such horrendous customer service. She argued aggressively with her coworker when he pointed out some errors in how she was processing our return (including the mileage issue) and repeatedly told him that the reason everything was wrong was because I had filled out all my documentation online prior to pickup, she repeatedly said "its all her fault" "she did it wrong" While I will probably use Uhaul again because this incident is very obviously one problematic woman I will NEVER rent from that location again and do not recommend any one else use that location either.

Senan NThe reason I had to go to this location was because the location on Lincoln Ave. in Escondido had a sign on the door that said,"We are closed for the day. I am sorry for the inconvenience!" WOW !!! They didn't even call to change my location!!! Thank goodness U-Haul had me go to this location, and I was well pleased. Also, the gas pump was right there, so I did not have to go far to refill the tank! We had forgotten to sweep the inside, but the nice man did not charge me! I really appreciated that! I would rent from here again!
DAVID RThe van was filthy and obviously hasn't been washed in weeks! The glare on the windshield and the mirrors from the fact that they are not clean, made it hard to see. This is dangerous and the rental vehicles need to be cleaned on the inside, since the windshield wipers didn't help. I was already on my way to the event when the "change oil soon" light came on. I would not rent this van out again until the oil has been changed and the van gets run through a car wash and cleaned properly.

JUSTIN SFay, the woman who runs AAAFuels in Escondido, was helpful and courteous even though juggling both her customers who were not renting UHaul trucks, and those of us who were. She explained everything clearly and carefully on the contract and out in the yard. The truck we rented to move a piano was perfect with the ramp and the larger dolly held the piano tight.

Kevin LCalled in to reserve a 5x8 open trailer. Was told they had one available at this address. I have never been there before. But have rented numerous times at the location nearby on Mission Avenue. This location was basically a liquor store and we didn't feel too safe at this location. Was told my cost was 18.95 on the phone. When I checked out I was charged about $10 more than quoted. Apparently this store put on an insurance coverage without my acknowledgement to do so. Found that very disappointing. May have to post a negative review about this. Of course unless UHaul can fix this.
Donald DI really liked how this location was managed by a gas station which made it so easy to refuel at the end of the reservation. I used the mobile pickup and return feature which was a lot more time consuming than I thought it would be. It would be nice to get a heads up, perhaps let customers know it'll take 15-20 minutes to complete each process so it doesn't cut into the actual reservation time. The only con about this location is that the only parking option is to replace your car with the rental vehicle since space is limited. Otherwise, the attendant was great and everything went smoothly.

Josefina Rwell as i found out after my trip, everything was covered in dirt!! the truck looked clean, but after the trip, my containers, refrigerator ... every thing !!! looked like i drove through a dirt storm!!! it was awful! But also the loaders I hired from Uhaul site, were terriable! they were an hour plus late!! one couldnt speak english. I loaded my storage unit myself! Then all they had to do was load a picnic table 2 chairs, 4 containers an a refrigerator! they had no tools, which was the reason I hired them! my daughter ended up removing doors! they spilt water all over my tools! they were careless about everthing! worst move ever! never had any issues with Uhaul before! i called their boss several times , all they cared about was getting paid! they asked me 5 times for payment in less than an hour ! for a 2 hr. job, that they only did 40 minutes of work ! I had to re set dollies in truck , they left them loose and standing, didnt bother to secure $3500 dollar refrigerator!!! i had the ropes available! believe me awful, told them to pick up BLACK Patio table an 2 chairs, he grabbed a grey one! i ended up with damages to my refrigerator, dresser, the drawers of refrigerator, and lots of dirt!! worst trip ever!
Sharon CFay, who helped us check out, was wonderful. She was knowledgable and so helpful. If needed, will go back to this same location. The truck was clean and still she offered to sweep out the back. She went above and beyond to make sure our rental experience was excellent.
Stacy SThe truck I rented had the check engine light on the entire trip. The facility was clean and the staff very helpful. This was not our original pick up preference and the supplies of boxes was not with the truck. The U-Haul service on the phone told me to pick up the supplies elsewhere. Poor service and when I asked to cancel the supplies and refund my credit card, I'm still waiting. Expect disruption to your plans in CA as there is not enough truck stock.

Malena GBig concern was there was no lift or crank to get the trailer hitched. And there was no notification sent with the reservation that I would have to do all of that by myself. After calling UHaul and the area manager he said he didn't have one there because there was no way to store it without it getting stolen. The store owner at AAA Fuels was incredibly nice and helpful (thank you to him) and was kind enough to help me lift it. But if he wasn't there or it had been anyone else I would not have been able to pick up the rental!

Leon LNot a dedicated U-Haul drop-off location. A gas station that contracts with U haul as a drop off location. Their printer didn't work, and they nitpicked about the amount of gas that we refilled the truck with. Had to pay extra because they said it was lower than when we rented the truck.
sean FMy reservation was very messed up.. I arrived to be told that my 15' truck had been given to another lady. Her reservation also had my information, like my address and credit card info too!! My reservation had her address, but the rest of it was correct. I was given a 10' truck instead, then charged for the 10' AND her 15' truck!! I had been assured that they had rectified the error, which was not true! I also was charged the incorrect fee per mile for the mileage and the insurance too (which I had declined). Holly RHorrible! This place was so frustrating. First off my reservation was moved to this location that is 30 min away from my requested location. I arrived on time and waited 30 minutes in line because there was only one person there and she would help the gas station customers whenever they came in and the uhaul customers whenever she had time in between the gas station customers. The person in front of me for uhaul had accidentally booked for 9pm instead of 9am and so the 30min I waited were for her to help this person change their reservation all while helping every person that came in to buy weed, crack pipes, and mushroom chocolates, or gas. The woman was doing her best but this was a completely inefficient and frustrating experience. Not only did I have an hour added to my move time by my reservation being moved to this far away location (30 min there and back) I had another 30 min frustrated waiting for service. This threw off my entire move day and I had to pay movers by the hour for times that I was arriving late. I will never use uhaul again.

Nickolas GUnfortunately it took awhile for me to be check out because the person handling who happens own the store was busy with her customers. So I didnt leave as expected . Also Im surprised with the amount I was charged . I live just 2.6 miles away from the U haul station then I was charged 40 plus miles and paid $79 . I just drive the van to Rose Valley Storage , then went home, unload then drove back to storage to unload again. Carry some things , went back to house . After cleaning I drove straight to return. And Im overcharged insignificanlty. How did i accumulated 46 miles?its ridiculous. We are loyal customer but with this incident i might as well go somewhere else and tell my ffriends too .

ELAINE KThis was an incredibly bad location. There was no parking. The neighborhood was poor. There was no help. It had no cell service. I had to squeeze fifteen foot truck into a tiny space. Absolutely awful. Stunning that a company of your scale offers such an incredibly negative and rough customer experience. I will tell people about this. Many of them.

JANEA CSomehow the reservation I set up on uhaul.com was completely wrong. The employee at the location had to re-do my reservation because it showed the reservation was for a trailer that would be TOWING my truck. And the system would not allow him to proceed. I had a similar problem at another location in town with the same reservation type. This should be resolved, as it tripled the amount of time I would usually spend with the employee to get the trailer and go about my business.
Adam SWe had to pay for 4 gallons of gas when, we refilled the gas to the same level we took it out. I talked to Jim, the person who helped me in the morning and let him know it was NOT 1/4. He took notes and told me it was not going to be a problem. When I returned the truck, they charged me for extra gas. When talked to the person helping me, he told me he does not charge anything that, it is U-Haul who charges for it, I explained to him that, U-Haul goes for the input they put on the documents and that, it had to be corrected before submitting, he seems to not understand and told me that, I need to bring it out to U-Haul for them to correct. This is unacceptable as, it should all had been avoided if the counter person inputs the right information. First time this happens to me on the many times using U-Haul or rental vehicles. Thank you for your time and, hopefully it can be corrected. God bless.
