The store was closed. I had to make 3 calls to figure out how to access the key lock box. I had to check in online which I wasn't expecting. The person I spoke to was helpful but the process would have been very difficult for someone not as comfortable on their phone. The drop off area was not lit very well either. I have three different charges on my account and when i called the customer service, they could explain what those charges for and I didn't het any money back .Ashwani D.
We had this rental from 11:00 am for four hours. We returned it at 2:50 pm the same day. Our receipt says we returned it at 6:33 pm, and we were charged for 2 rental periods, thus doubling our charge. The return time is a flat-out lie. Additionally, the left rear tail-light and turn signal was out. I told the proprietor and he shrugged and mumbled something, clearly uninterested in fixing the significant safety issue with his van.JAMES S.
I would like to be contacted, as I'm being charged CAD$53 for a van rental that lasted 1 hour. Should have been CAD$20 as I had agreed. The experience was not good, both the locations the attendants Had horrible communication skills, and now I'm being charged more than twice what I expected. I'll wait for u-haul contact.Gabriel B.
This place gave me the worst experience for renting a U haul. They charged 25 cleaning fee for no reason and charged 100 dollars for gas fee. I just run 10 kil that day!!! Such a bad experience!ZISHUAI Z.

Answer the phone!!! Hire more people to work the phone lines!!! I booked an â€œin personâ€ pick up and drop off because my phone doesn't have good internet functions and it was impossible to correct booking issues by website. The man who managed the shop at 717 east Broadway was wonderful. But Uhaul CS left me on hold for 30 minutes after a booking error, (wrong vehicle wrong time wrong location!) bounced me between representatives, and couldn't even answer basic questions, while the shop Manager went above and beyond to help me without any fuss or hesitation. Uhaul! Send him a gift basket or something as thanks, You could not ask for a better representative for your business than this man, who doesn't even *work* for uhaul! He swooped down like a guardian angel and solved all my problems. So the halal meat shop comes highly recommended but uhaul does not. Buy your herbs and spices and meat and likeâ€¦ incense here. Kefir andâ€¦ I dunno. Halal stuff. Also, the 151 west 7th uhaul pickup location? They were also incredibly easy to work with and were helpful in figuring out where our truck was (we were supposed to pick up there) and volunteered the materials that were missing from our booking like absolute saints. Both locations get a thumbs up from me. Phone service from uhaul gets a big double thumbs down.Thalia T.

While the staff on location were very friendly and the pickup/dropoff process was smooth, the attention to detail was lacking. The facility did not have the dollys we ordered and would not have included a dolly or blankets at all had we not asked. No other packing supplies were available for purchase at the facility. There was an unexpected cleaning and â€œafter hoursâ€ fee which we did not expect as we picked up and dropped off he vehicle during regular working hours.MARK D.

The on-line checkin wasn't working, and it took almost 30 min to get a human on the phone to help. The staff on site at this location were lovely and helped me. Also the vehicle was terrible - the breaks on this vehicle were dangerously loose, and the transmission needs servicing (kept skipping "R").GILES G.

Had a great experience at this location. Pick up was prompt and fast; I'd already checked in online so was in and out in 5 minutes. Truck was clean and didn't have any mechanical problems. I rented a furniture dolly and some furniture pads. Both were provided, although the furniture pads had leaves and dirt stuck on them. Other than that, everything worked as expected. No hassles or overcharging. Great customer service and friendly staff. Highly recommended!Kenneth F.

From the start, I should have been concerned when I picked up the truck and the person renting me the truck said the â€œtank was fullâ€ and I needed to being it back full. When starting the truck, I notice the fuel was just over 3/4 full. I completed the exterior inspection however did not closely examine the interior of the back of the truck. The uhaul person, quickly opened the back to check for the utility dolly but quickly closed it again before I could get a good look. I rented the truck late in the day as I did not want to deal with the rental process the morning of my move and wanted to start first thing in the morning. I parked it at my place without a further thought. Early the next day, I opened the back of the truck and discovered a large yellow greasy substance all over the floor. It looked like someone had made a half assed attempt to wipe it up. I had to clean up the truck before I could move my items in. I completed the move and returned the truck and, against my better judgement and wanting to avoid a conflict, I said nothing to the uhaul person. Then I received the bill with a charge for $25 for cleaning. Thats when I'd had enough, I phoned the uhaul rep and demanded to know why I was being charged. He said he would look into it and call me back, which he did. He said I had left â€œmudâ€ in the footwell of the drivers seat. I admitted that the storage place I had dropped off my belongings at was dusty however stated that I also had to clean out the back of the truck. He made counter claims that they checked their trucks every morning, then changed his story to say they checked after each renter. He could not explain why I was told that the fuel tank was full when it was not. I'll admit I was less than polite as I felt entirely ripped off and was basically called a liar by this uhaul rep. So word to the wise, dont overlook anything upon renting a uhaul, document everything, and never use the uhaul rep at this place.James H.
I filled the gas tank more then it was originally filled at by accident and now I'm out a bunch of money because your contracts regarding gas tank are brutal. I would like to be compensated for the extra gas in the tank. I filled it full.Blake M.

Hi, I'm having an issue with the amount that was charged to my account: 1. The total amount charged was 71.21, but the total on the bill is 69.71 Why was I charged more than what I was owed? 2. Why is there an after hours charge? I asked the person at the store how to drop off if i come after they close in case it takes me longer (since the person before me dropped the car after my rental time). How ever I did manage to come long before they close the store. The problem when renting from U-haul is not the pick up locations, rather it's YOU, U-Haul as a company. Let me explain what happened, and mind you, this is not the first time you put me in trouble. I scheduled my booking online, I told you to communicate via email, not text. Reservation was 28914075, requested pick up: Guardian Storage 151 W 7th Ave Vancouver, BC V5Y1L8 Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:30 AM 4 hours 9' Cargo van Instead, i get this via text message: Your U-Haul res 28914075 is sched. at Al Fares Halal Meats & Groecery. 717 E BROADWAY in VANCOUVER at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 28, 2021. Call (604) 708-0288 to confirm. This mean that you failed on ALL accounts. You leave the phone number to the guy at this location that then will have to answer for your incompetence, which is not right!? Luckily, Al Fares location was very professional and somehow magically managed to play around with the bookings and accommodate my original booking, mind you, they did this during a very busy time of the month. Applauds for this. U-haul - you need to go back to the drawing back and figure out how you can become professional at an entry level for starters.
