Michael LThere was duct tape on top of the truck that we later discovered was meant to keep any rain out. It did not work as we realized after arrival at my destination and some of the items were wet.
Steven MLots of confusion with gas because the gas was not left were it should have been before pick up, thank heavens I took pictures and videos meanwhile everything worked out well.

Misty SOnline check-in. I uploaded my ID days beforehand to expediste the process. It made me do it again the morning of. Did not know I needed to have two other contacts who were also awake and able to answer the phone at 8 am. While trying to wake said person up, I was dropped by check-in assistant online(after around 2 min) I had to start the process again, including scanning my ID for the 3rd time. Frustrating and unexpected with the 24/7 service.

Steve NAfter a turbulent start with uhaul coming leasing us 3 different trucks with different locations, the place at AAA storage came to our rescue and got everything squared away for us. Uhaul.com is a big pain and should leave the reserving of trucks to the individual places.

Tabatha RThe fuel gauge was not working. When I picked up the truck, it was showing ⅞, and I was told to fill it to ⅞ upon my return. Before returning the truck I went to get gas and ended up putting ~8.6 gallons in the tank (filled all the way because the gas gauge didn't move). I only drove 12.7 miles, and no idling, so there's no way I used over 8 gallons of gas. I would really appreciate a refund for the extra gas I bought. Total was $35.25 and should have been no more than $9. If your fuel gauge was functioning properly I would not have filled it all the way, rather only to the required ⅞ of a tank. I would appreciate a response and a refund of $25.

Guy BWe were moving us and our cats to NY from NC which should have taken 9 hours. After hopping on the highway with the uhaul packed we realized that would not be the case. Our uhaul only went 50 mph and had clearly not been serviced or inspected after its last return. Everytime we went down a hill the rpm would skyrocket to 6-7 and stall almost causing us to get into several accidents on winding WV highways, unfortunately not a place we could stop permanently to wait for AAA safely. After 15 terrifying hours our cats and us are still pretty traumatized. We called uhaul who wouldn’t even give us a case number because we hadn’t called AAA. Extremely disappointed that they put us in that situation.

Jerry CI originally booked a 10 foot truck to be ready at 8AM at a location 20 minutes from my home as it was the only truck available in the area. When arriving to get the truck at 9:30, I was told that this location has no trucks. I was not contacted nor told of this. After driving 20 minutes away, being told it was my fault that the truck was unavailable and told "maybe you should call dispatch," a truck was located at another location 25 minutes from the first and an additional 20 minutes from my home. From this point things went well but the lack of communication and causing me to drive all over town and delay my move is unacceptable. Will not recommend uHaul.

DYLAN MI received on the phone a quote of 48 cents per mile and was told pickup was possible before opening hours. Not only was it not possible for us to pick up the truck before hours, losing us 3 hours of waiting time, but we were charged double the quoted rate. Now we are stuck with a Customer Service complaint and two times higher bill than planned.
Demeter RThe people running the place seem great. I have the score completely based off uhaul themselves, The location gets 5stars. Uhaul gets 0. This is the second time I have rented from them, and had problems both times. Would not recommend renting from uhaul. Reservation needs to change 100% for me to use again. Reserved a truck that was never apparently available. Received confirmation for said reservation and didn’t know there was no truck until I went to pick it up (which was from a different location than I had originally requested). This is something, I was told that happens “often” do to poor online registration management. The ONLY good thing I can say is that I received a truck twice the size I needed for the price of a smaller one and the ones who were working at the storage facility were very nice.
