The original drop off location in Orillia (Western Rd) had no one available (in person) and no one answered the phone. A local merchant explained that no one is ever available, therefore I searched out the River Convenience U Haul location. Maybe look into the original location to ensure proper drop off locations in a strange city.Dave B.

My UHaul experience in the past has been extremely poor. I have rented a number of times in the past year and each experience has been very poor. Equipment not available at requested location. Having to drive last minute to another locations 45 minutes away. The worst was charged km charge for going back to my area and returning. A few KM trio turned into significant $ due only to fact request equipment was not in right location. The Orillia rental was due to fact I requested from Orillia and was told on arrival my rental was in Barrie. Staff in Orillia was understanding and helped with a different truck. The experience cost me much more than initially budgeted. I am sure this is just an auto email and will not hear back. But thank you for askingGary C.

The trailer was not in working order. The safety chain was broken, the lights didn't work, and it was extremely difficult to get the trailer locked on. The employee did not help me put the trailer on or make sure it was attached safely or correctly and it actually popped off once while I was driving. Not impressed with the quality of the trailer or the service at all. Very disappointing from such a well known name as Uhaul.LORI L.

Change your website options. We rented a truck and furniture dollies and this location did not have any dollies. We had to go buy them. Unacceptable. You shouldn't allow people to reserve items if your locations don't have the items in stock ever. He says they have never had them and you guys don't listen to his complaints. My reservation was cancelled 24 hours prior to pickup. I made the reservation weeks prior. I was offered a smaller truck and required to drive 1:45 hours one way to pick up a smaller truck. I was told that my compensation for driving 3:30 hours to pick up a smaller truck was extra KM on the truck (embarrassing comment) and a reduced charge (for a smaller truck). Ridiculous. From Start to finish I was treated like I had no choice because I was notified 24 hours prior and NO ONE cared at all. Such a dismissive take it or leave it attitude. Everyone acted like your company has a monopoly on cross border rentals ( which you do) and they don't give a shit about customer service. Worst experience in my life. My job requires me to travel all over the world and relocate employees as well. Terrible treatment.Glenn C.

The worst experience ever! I rent trucks often and honestly after this last experience thinking of taking my business to home depot going forward for this last rental was brutal. If it wasn't for calling your 1800 number and speaking with a fantastic representative that day we would never have gotten a rental. As a result of the error from 5 Rivers it took a very long time to finally get us on the road and the owner pulled up just as we were leaving. I tried to explain to him what had transpired but he arrogantly made it clear none of it is his fault but rather U-Haul and made a point to state that he does not work on Wednesdays so basically not to speak to him. I was just letting him know what had happened for his benefit so it would not happen again but he just didn't care and didn't even say sorry for the inconvenience or any kind words you would expect towards a paying customer ... instead he said he would not say sorry for had nothing to do with him. When we returned the truck his sign said OPEN ... we dropped keys off and he was quick to point out again that he is not open for U-Haul but only open to sell variety goods. Also you should know he had nothing nice to say about UHaul either. Real piece of work and a terrible representative of your brand. Feel free to call me if you wish to know more about this experience and the others we have had with this location for we rented a few times now from this location with the same man since it is convenient. Another note.. on each rental we always suspected he was gouging or finding a way to charge more such as stating Gas was a certain level but it wasn't and thankfully we took photos to prove this. Or tried to add additional items to our bill that we didn't click yet he argues that you did as per his computer screen. I had read others comments about this as well but took the risk and and realized that all other comments are true! He mentioned that he has other locations and I have no idea which ones so I would want to steer clear of dealing with him again and that is why with Home Depot the service is clear, certain and kind. It would have been good to know from the start to call the main u-haul tel number for assistance. The manager at the local Orillia store is busy & there isn't an answering machine at that number. The truck had not been cleaned for at least 2 months. It reeked of smoke and had receipts, clothing and garbage. It was obvious it had not been cleaned due to the amount of dirt on the floor and grunge. Very disappointed especially during CovÃ¬d.Duncan M.
Have more trucks, provide an easier access to vehicles. Don't change reservations. When your company advertises things actually offer them. I booked 6 weeks in advance wanted a 20 ft truck was told there were none available. I was told I had to take a 15 ft truck and drive 30 min away to get it when there is a depot literally around the corner from my house. The week of my move I received a call saying that the truck that was reserved for me 6 weeks prior was now unavailable and I would have to drive 60min one way to pick up a truck at a time 2 hours later than I had reserved.Diane L.

This is about U Haul generally, not the pickup location. Stop changing the pickup locaton on customers, like every day. I asked for Barrie originally. Then you changed it to Orillia. Cool. Then you tried to change it from Orillia to Collingwood around 4 hours before my scheduled pickup. I'd already reorganized my day to be in the Orillia area. I called in and it turned out, there was a 10 foot truck at Orillia after all. So you were totally willing to completely inconvenience me as long as your corporate office didn't have to spend 1 minute to double check availability? That's aside from the fact there should be a truck there - you guaranteed it.Nicholas D.

I've never rented from a Uhaul Neighbourhood dealer before (only ever rented from actual Uhaul stores) and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this location. Don't forget to grab some delicious food and samosas next door when you're done!Lisa K.

The vehicle was filthy inside and out. The fuel was not 1/2 full as indicated on the agreement, it was less than 1/2 full. I took copious amounts of photos of the vehicle inside and out including the instrument cluster ie. Fuel Guage. The Uhaul representative Didn't come out and go over the vehicle with me, he just handed me a key and an agreement with a fake fuel reading. I returned the vehicle with more fuel than I started with. This location charged me over $10 for fuel which wasn't required. After calling customer support I was given a refund for the mistery fuel. Thank you customer service for your assistance in getting the refund. Due to the fuel discrepancy I find this particular retail outlet to be dishonest!Ian T.

Although the gentleman running this location was very friendly we had a huge run around with our reservation. Ordered a 15ft well over a month in advance. Head office called 2 days prior to move saying they only had a 10ft available and not at the location we requested. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend using Uhaul to anyone.Tom V.

The truck was not cleaned when I got it when I returned it they wanted me to pay for cleaning. It was returned cleaner than I got it. I brought the truck back with more fuel than when I got it, but they charged me a fuel charge. I drove 13 miles and put in 3.5 gallons of gas, so unless their 10ft trucks only gets 3.7miles/gallon they are clearly wrong. I objected but they where very rude and I just wanted to get out of their. Clearly they needed the money more then I did.Steven W.

There was no parking to put the uhaul and trailer on site. The owner asks me to do a 100 point turn to park it out back. Would be helpful to designate parking spots for equipment in the parking lot. The personel spoke english to me than changed to hindi when talking to each other when it came to billing and what to do. The personel accused me of not having 7/8 tank of fuel when there was. The process was 1 hr in the store. The personnel didnt no how to use the system nor talked in english around me. I felt like they were hiding something and i felt cheated.WILLIAMCHARLES B.

I had to hook up the equipment and remove it. Was also charged an after hours charge after being charged for an extra day. Complete rip off. I understand the extra day for being late but the after hours charge is a joke. I unhooked the equipment, they did nothing. If I brought the equipment back the next day, no after Hours charge?
