Had a door that was difficult to close, windshield wipers were so warn out they didn't clean or even touch the windshield to clean or remove windshield washer fluid or filth, this made us have to pullover on a highway and use our own sweater to clean the washer fluid off. Before arriving at uhaul we tried to contact them by phone to ensure everything was in order and they didn't answer their phone for more then 5 hours when we arrived we asked why are the phones not answered and he just asked if we were there to get our rental, the employees were NO HELP at all and we spent two hours in our vehicle trying to reach someone from the uhaul customer service center (1 800 number) we were now 3 hours behind schedule! When we left we asked about drop off and we're told to just leave key in the provided after hours box, we also paid the extra 7$ for a furniture dolly however we didn't need it and I expressed this to the uhaul employee but ended up taking it any way to later be charged 69$ for using it!?! So finally we paid the 179$ and for no reason we're charged another 140$ for no reason at all! We insured gas was out in and was clean we returned as it was so there was no reason for this extra charge! From orillia to Penetang and back cost us around 319$ to pick up a couch! Ridiculous do not use this location if you don't have to they care more about their restaurant that's attached and the uhaul store is filled with isles of international foods they offer for sale. No customer service at all and we're not helpful and tried to bill us an extra 140$ That another uhaul representative expressed for no reason at all and 60$ for a 7$ furniture dolly? Avoid at all cost like google suggest!John H.

Staff was great & friendly. But when I arrived on time/earlier actually only to find out my truck was not here. And going to be like another hour or more. Called head office amd they got disconnected from me as they were going to call this store. Waited 5 min amd nothing so I went back inside the store. Where I convinced them to give me the other 15' truck that was here (someone else rented it but for a later pu time.) so I did get a truck (wasted only about 30min). But all in all was all good. But than they had to charge me for double the milage as I got screwed out of a trailer that morning from a Barrie store at 62 Commerce rdAdam B.

Vehicle was not cleaned off of snow and there was no snow brush to clean the snow off in the vehicle. Also, didn't find out until I was on a busy highway that there was NO windshield washer fluid at all, so it led to a very dangerous drive on a busy highway until I was able to stop at a gas station to fill the windshield washer reservoir.Daniel B.

I love the Five Rivers Store. The people are fantastic, I don't live close to the store, but because they are so awesome I drive a extra 20 minutes just to use their store. I only use this store. They are amazing and I totally recommend this store.NICOLE P.
I only used truck for two days and when I ask about a rebate for unused time and for the extra fuel in the tank which it only need to a half a tank but was a full tank they said that U-haul does not give rebates for any one of these reasons so for I will never recommend you to anybody that ask and over the years I have use your service a far pit but never again.HARVEY T.
Vehicle should be full of gas when customer picks it up. I was annoyed that I had to fill the tank before starting my trip and then fill it again when I returned it. Furthermore when I picked it up there was a layer of ice on the windshield, no scraper in the vehicle, so I had your U-Haul rep come out with his scraper to clean it off. This should have been checked and taken care of before my time of arrival, which was advised when ordering the vehicle.ROBERT M.

This location was 130 km from my original location. Was a huge inconvenience to me to have me drive all that way. U-haul was not helpful at all with this. This review has nothing to do with the actual pick up location rather the horrible service by uhaul.JOHNA C.

5 rivers did nothing wrong. So I apologize if this reflects poorly on them. My issue is with your contact centre. My 26ft truck pick up location was changed to a town an hour away, the day of pick up, without notifying me. I called to inquire and was offered a 10ft with discounted mileage and a 50$ credit. Both of which were not applied to the bill, I was however charged for a dolly that was not provided. After multiple attempts at calling the Brampton contact centre to politely clear it up (I was hung up on, left on dead air mute for 15 minutes and transferred without warning) I gave up. I have never felt so disrespected by a company before. I would rather move my furniture on a bicycle than use uhaul ever again. I have submitted a complaint as well and gotten no response. But at this point, I am not surprised.Curtis F.

After making my reservation 3+ weeks before my move, I was told two days before that instead of picking up the truck and dolly at my desired location, I would have to pick up the truck half an hour away in Orillia, then drive back to Gravenhurst for the dolly, then back to orillia to load my car. Fortunately my circumstances allowed me to add an hour and a half to my move without too much issue, but it was still pretty annoying. This isn't an indictment of the location whose services I used but of U-haul. However, I'd still recommend U-haul to others because of the gentleman who works at the Five Rivers location. He was very helpful with loading my car even though he didn't have experience with the tow dolly. He patiently helped me out in the freezing weather, and my only regret is that I didn't catch his name to commend him more specifically. He was a taller fella working there Sunday afternoon.Aaron O.

The vehicle was clean however it was mechanically deficient and should have not been put into service. The steering wheel was loose. And that is a major safety issue. A periodical mechanical check would be a good idea.Waldemar R.

Overall I think UHaul should ask that vehicles be dropped off with a full tank of gas. When we picked up the truck in London it had less than a tank of gas, which we filled immediately for the trip. We dropp d it off with a little more than half a tank. I think it would be easier and a better experience for the customer to start with a full tank and fill the tank just prior to drop offCharlene L.

The don't answer the phone; I tried calling directly 6X. I was charged extra day plus insurance for being 50 minutes over on a day rental. Uhaul is only last resort choice. Unfortunate you can't have a better business model that doesn't rip people off.J M.

This vehicle had 13,000+ km's and looks rough....when I started the truck I got two error messages: "oil change required" & "washer fluid level low"....is someone looking at these vehicles between rentals? The vehicle was dirty, floor matts filthy, cigarette burn in the drivers seat, centre seat soiled, instrument panel scuffed at glove box...I would think all vehicles should be clean & sanitized between rentals especially now during the COVID 19 pandemic. In addition, the pickup box had miscellaneous debris, scratches on the hood and quarter panel. This truck needs attention....John S.

The inside of the truck was filthy and smelled of cigarette smoke. It should have been cleaned and disinfected as it clearly was not after the previous rental. The truck was In poor repair and required service. The radio didn't work, the oil change message was on and the brakes squeak. Over the short rental it Still got the Job done.SANDOR S.
