I booked online only to arrive and be told there were no blankets. Was told I could drive to another location and sign a new contract just for blankets. Why allow me to book if you don't have blankets? I had to spend an extra $50 on bubble wrap because of this. I never would have booked this had I known there were no blankets. Bubble wrap should have been heavily discounted for your mistake. This was wildly unacceptable.

Got charged for gas when I filled up to 3/4 per contract less than 1 mile away. Rep either misremembered my truck (she was checking in 4 trucks at once) or doesn't know how to read fractions. Awaiting call back from national U-Haul service line.

The van I reserved was not available. Instead I had to take a truck which is more expensive, uses more gas, and is much harder to drive. The location closed about 10 min early and I was instead instructed to do a mobile return. All together not the best experience, not the worst. I will find another service provider in the future.

I was informed 5 minutes before my scheduled pick-up that I had to pick-up the truck at a different location at a later time. This ruined my whole moving day because I had movers lined up, etc. I will avoid U-haul at all costs in the future and will advise all my friends to do the same. It's really unacceptable that U-haul informed me of the change a few minutes before the pick-up.

24/7 remote pick-up was not implemented for my reservation even though I had requested it. Had to wait for office to open. When opened, had to wait 15 minutes for an attendant.

customer service lady was nice it was quick transaction, but when I went out to pick up the truck passenger side mirror was broken and falling, came back and complaint about it she calls some guy and he said he knew about it, and he will fix it for me. if they already knew about it then why they did not fix the problem before given the equipment to customer. secondly, they over charge me by fraud the fuel price. when I picked the truck where the fuel level was, I marked it, I drove the truck only half mile from the pickup location and then came back with just two miles on the truck. when I dropped the truck told the lady to check it before I leave because I did not used the truck due to our project got cancelled. she said just drop it she will check it later and I will get the receipt in the mail. they are fraud. they charge me 4 miles of fuel. liars

When I arrived to pick up the truck, my reservation was not available. It turns out that apparently the reservation was moved up a day WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION and when I didn't pick it up, it was canceled. Fortunately there was an unreserved 15-ft truck on site, otherwise this would have gone from a significant inconvenience to a major problem. The equipment I had ordered was also not available, and as a result my furniture suffered some damage due to the lack of protective cloths. I don't see a reason to risk the same thing happening in the future, and I'll be warning anyone I know with moving needs to skip U-Haul.

the uhaul truck itself is in good condition. however the location of the store is in a back alley road. after dark, at night, the location could be sketchy if only by yourself. the store staff was very nice and helpful.

I made my reservation by phone three weeks in advance for a one way rental, upon getting to the pick-up location, staff were very slow to greet/help. The reservation was input incorrectly into the system and staff seemed not to know how to properly adjust it to the requested one-way rental. It took nearly an hour to get the truck, and during the process staff answered a phone call which lasted approximately 10 minutes. Now I have a charge on my receipt for “wrong drop off” which I am disputing.

VERY hard to get in to and then there was barely space to return the truck when we arrived. It was a very narrow road into the facility and unclear as to where we should leave the truck initially. It is in an industrial area so lots of semis around which makes it more difficult to drive a larger truck like we had.

Checking in was very slow and took a long time. The (very friendly) employee told me that it was because of the U-haul software. Taking the van back after dark, I didn't leave it until my husband came to pick me up with the car. The reason for this is that the location is in a lonely and somewhat sketchy part of Queens, at least at night.

Very helpful at the desk but using the code to get to the lock box is a nightmare! And when it took long enough for the store to open the very helpful employee at the desk checked the correct lock box and the key was not there!!! He did help us find it but caused us a two hour delay. AND I was supposed to get the truck close by my house and on the last day I was told the truck and trailer we at two different locations which I needed to drive a great distance too.

The lockbox system needs to upgraded. Due to the cold weather it was very difficult to open the lock to retrieve the vehicle key. Other than that the process was not bad at all.

Arrived and no sign of staff at the desk. What is usually a five minute process took over half an hour, delaying a time sensitive move out of my building and making everything unnecessarily stressful and rushed. The van also was not in great condition unlike what was pictured and cargo door was difficult to shut properly. Staff are not/half wearing masks. They were nice but would not come to this location again.

The employees were clearly not very well trained, Although they were polite. Despite checking in online, it took 20-30 minutes to get the keys to the van. I got very poor instructions. I was very confused throughout the drop off process as well. Additionally, I was overcharged on fuel. I drove ten miles, and filled up one gallon. I bring the car back and they charge me a $30 fuel service fee in addition to 3 gallons of fuel. How could it possibly be 3 gallons when I drove and you wrote down that I drove 10 miles? Overall, very disappointed

When we arrived to pick up the truck no one was there and there for 40 minutes so we had to wait and then they said we had to bring the truck back in 2 1/2 hours even though we rented it for 3. We then missed our elevator times with the buildings and it took us much longer than expected to move our items.
