The manager of the facility was super helpful in helping me arrange access to my Uhaul box and helping me rent a Uhaul truck so I could very quickly and efficiently transfer the contents of the Uhaul container into the truck. The manager was also very responsive to text and phone. I really appreciated his help!

Cheree K.These remarks do not reflect on 1023 Storage, rather, on UHAUL corporation. I returned the truck on a Sunday. The UHAUL mobile app would not function so I had no return instructions. I called UHAUL and for hours the agents said the system was down. I had to use my own $20 padlock to secure the cargo area and rental equipment to leave the truck overnight outside the facility gate, and I left the key on the truck's keyring before leaving it in the box. The UHAUL website and app continued to fail for the rest of the day and all evening, so I remained concerned whether I had returned the truck properly. I had to wait until Monday morning to call 1023 Storage to confirm this information.

Will never use this location again. Will go to a brick-and-mortar location for any rentals in the future and the 24-hour entry gate has no interest in ever using again.

Unfortunately, I can't respond to reviews due to U-Haul's dealer setup, so I'm sharing my perspective here for customers who may have had issues. I apologize for not including the dolly in your rental; I take full responsibility for that. I'm working on improving our dispatch process to ensure all rentals include everything the customer needs. I apologize for the issues the customer experienced. Sometimes U-Haul has a bit of a wait with their customer service, and I was glad to be able to help the customer on their way as soon as possible. Regarding our gate, there is an issue where the keypad won't work if you're on top of the sensors; we've added this information to the U-Haul check-in and check-out process. The customer dropped the trailer off next to the other trailers on the gravel, just off the asphalt road. The entrance road is shared with the County of Sacramento, as there's a pump station behind my property. County employees accessing the pump station are on Homeland Security property, which means they undergo thorough background checks, I would assume. James E.Tire was low, U-Haul had no gas, the Dollie's I requested weren't there, & there was no on site office. Took me twice as long to move without the dollies

Joseph Q.This location NEEDS BETTER SIGNAGE - I had no problem entering using the gate code, but I was NOT TOLD that I would need the gate code to exit. I did not remember it, had to call customer service, wait for 20 minutes, and then the code did not work because I had driven the truck over a sensor. Please put up signage that indicates the sensor AND please give the gate code again at the end of the pickup process in the app. I was stuck there for 45 minutes until someone who worked there showed up and let me out. Otherwise, all was good - easy. Thank you.

James W.It was a major pain to get our truck rented. We have rented many times from Uhaul and never had to have our identity verified by a referral/employer/etc. That made us almost an hour behind schedule getting to our meetup location for our moving team on moving day. On top of that, the gate at the location wouldn't open automatically to let us (or anyone else who had rented trucks) out, so we had to call the office and it took multiple tries to get ahold of anyone to let us out. That put us even more behind schedule. On top of all of that, they have NO WAY TO GET OUT OF THE LOCKED PARKING LOT as the gate wouldn't open and the pedestrian gate was locked shut so nobody could get in or out. This resulted in my brother being locked INSIDE the parking lot after returning the truck. He had to hop the fence or he would have missed his Uber ride home. This was overall our worst uhaul rental experience to date and I will not use this location or recommend it to anyone.

The absolute worst Uhaul experience I've ever had saved only the young lady tryin to help me by calling someone to come get me out. With some convincing I got a ride home and the backstory to this location which although understandable does not excuse the fact that I was locked in with no way out. Additionally, I am still waiting to be checked out and refunded for having to fill the truck up enough to use it for its intended purpose. It was almost on “Eâ€. Unbelievable.
Lawrence C.There was no office, this is a storage facility with a locked gate that you need a gate code to get in and there is no drop box to place the keys in. If this is the drop off location that you are supposed to use then a one-time gate code should be provided to you so you can bring the truck into the gated area. We had to contact uhual customer service to find out how to handle the drop off (where to leave the truck since we could not get into the gated area). We were told (by Luis via uhual chat) to move out of the way of the gate and hide the keys which didn't make me super comfortable, but we didn't have any other options since there was no one on site. There were other reviews about this location with similar comments. Would not recommend this location as a drop off location if you are not able to get into the gate.

Also, the address number at the entrance is not the same as the address listed in the reservation. It was all very confusing Nothing was properly marked either.... obvious instructions would have been appreciated (ie where to return the keys).
