I have been a loyal member for over two years with unit 813, and I never received any written notice that the facility was going to be demolished. I called about an inquiry for my bill, and then after dozens of attempts to reach out to them and never got a response, I then find out that I had two weeks to clear my unit. I no longer live in Charlotte so I had to spend over $600 to book a flight and a U-Haul to get all of my belongings when all of this could've been avoided if I had more of a notice. I will never use U-Haul again after this experience.

The van was 9 miles from empty when we picked it up, so we had to fuel immediatley and I spent $92 filling it up and turned it in with between half and 3/4 tank of fuel. I think Uhaul got the better end of that deal!!

Ian J.Still awaiting a call back from this location regarding charges, I was told charges would be waived by Sarah (Roadside Assistance Supervisor) after being broken-down and had to sit on the side of the highway for more than 17 hours. I was charges for an extra day because UHaul could not recover the vehicle until 17-hours later. I would love to discuss. Sarah is the MVP for her assistance!!!!!

Trent V.Location was conveniently located just 5 minutes down the road from the apartment I was moving out of, but aside from that, there wasn't much else that I would praise. I chose to do mobile check-in during the rental process so that I can just grab and go, but you might as well just do regular check in. It was basically just the same process and you still had to go inside the store to get the keys and the other items you rented (i.e. dolly, furniture pads). It was my fault for not ensuring I had everything before I left Uhaul, but I mistakenly assumed my dolly and furniture pads would be inside the truck since I chose the mobile/no contact check in, but I was wrong, as I realized when I got back to my apartment I didn't have the dolly or furniture pads and the person working at the front desk who had to check my order and give me my keys failed to mention that you had to pick those up in a separate location. This separate location was gated and locked up and requires you to get a worker to access it...which once again, I chose mobile check-in because I wanted to avoid all that. It's not like I rent from Uhaul on a regular basis, I depend on the workers and/or the website to indicate these nuances. The truck we rented didn't have a ramp. I don't even know what the point of having a Uhaul is if you don't have a ramp. It was quite an unfortunate and unexpected hiccup that made moving extremely difficult. I was given an outline of my charges prior to renting the uhaul + other items, and it stated that my total would be the cost of my rentals plus $0.79 per mile. The wording and invoice outline very clearly indicated that the price per mile was the only charge being added on after drop-off. I did not see any indication of any additional charges that would be added on post drop-off. Upon drop off, I was charged an additional amount for gas. I was a little annoyed that this wasn't included in the up front verbiage or invoice. It would have been nice to see a more accurate total reflected. If you think you are going to spend any less than $100 at uhaul, you are mistaken, and I didn't even rent a large truck, I just had a 10'.
Morgan A.This facility gave me a lien notice on a unit I moved out from even after giving notice a month prior. I submitted my move out request online which I have confirmation of. On site during my move out I explained I was moving out, met with the on-site manager, and even had the movers be introduced. I am unsure what more I needed to do and if there was a missing piece it should have been comminuted by a manager. I do have an email that management switched over which caused the issues but that should not be my issue. You are charging me for a fully vacant unit which is completely unfair and could have been easily mitigated.

Waited a whole hour with no progress. I had to re load Uhauls webpage constantly to look for a replacement soon as a truck was available. No message was sent out to verify arrival or some sort of courtesy to be considerate of my reservation.

Sheila M.I was given a faulty truck (the breaks gave out while approaching an intersection, and was almost hit by a semi truck. Called customer service and they sent a towe truck. Got the receipt and saw they tacked on about 350 miles and charged me $380. I've called twice requesting a refund and explanation for the absurd amount of mileage added (we only drove within a 7 mile radius) and still have not received a refund.

neal H.1. The lady at the counter simply walked away during the middle my check-in/transaction with no explanation, went to the restroom, then returned several minutes later. At that point I reminded her that the transaction had not been completed. She also did not explain how to get shipping blankets I reserved. 2. This same lady completed a transaction for a person that was in line in front of me. After the transaction, the customer asked how to get the bins she had just paid for, and the lady at the counter said "sorry we do not have any". The entire check-in process was very unorganized and unprofessional. 3. My truck broke down between my loading and unloading locations. I was stuck on the side of the interstate for several hours waiting for roadside assistance. The call-in process for roadside assistance is very poor, and the automated system actually says "for faster service, submit a request online". Like I have a computer and internet in the cab of the truck with me?! After that huge delay, I did not receive any discount or compensation for the time I lost due to equipment malfunction. It seems like the rental should have been free after this issue. 4. I have rented Uhaul many times, including moves across the country 4 times. This location has been the worst experience of all.

Neil D.I chose a specific location for my moving, upon arrival I was told they didn't have any trucks and I was sent elsewhere, I was never notified of the change until it was time to pick it up. Very inconvenient and costs me more money in miles and gas. The new location didn't have the equipment I reserved which made moving very difficult. I was given keys to the truck but was not given keys to unlock the back gate so I had to go back and get them. Was offered a $24 gas credit if I brought truck back with 1/4 tank when it was on 1/8th. Which cost more than $24 to get to that point. Very bad experience with customer service. Truck was fine.

KEVIN P.I was here twice over the weekend. My first experience on Friday morning, May 20th was amazing. The 2 women that helped me were kind, efficient and informational. The way customer service should be. They actually made my day. And I let them know that. However when I went back on Monday morning (May 23rd) the woman at the front was rude, unpleasant and even confrontational. It was night and day in comparison and quite a shame given how wonderful my Friday experience was. She gave me the worst customer experience I've had in a long time. I wrote that this place is excellent because of how great the first experience was. But this woman on Monday should not be responsible for customer satisfaction. She was horrible! Given that uhaul is the #1 truck rental for self moving they should make sure that all their employees take care with how they treat customers. Moving yourself is already stressful and having a surly representative makes that all the more stressful. Thank you again to the 2 women on Friday (wish I had caught their names) and shame on the woman from Monday.
