Provide the vehicle with a full tank, at least on one-way rentals, and return it full or pay a severe penalty. Of course this means U-haul would actually have to use those funds to fill the tanks. DC1540, the truck I was assigned, has severe front-end/steering issues. Keeping it between the lines was a full time death grip on the steering wheel for the entire journey. Beware!!! The UHaul location on Ogeechee Rd is a mess! The employees aren't the problem, it's their computer system. I rented a pick-up on a Saturday. At pick-up, one employee, slow computer, line 15 people deep. Well over an hour to get a key despite using on-line check-in. The system at the counter never received notice of my check-in. Almost missed the deadline to pickup the furniture I had purchased. In my haste to leave I failed to notice their system erroneously had the fuel level at 3/4 when it was barely over 1/2 full. I only drove 27 miles and returned the truck with more gas than I left with but when I received my bill I was charged $33 for 6 gallons of gas. I contacted UHaul via email but got no response. Went to the location but the employee at the counter refused to issue a refund despite the fact I only drove 27 miles. I will be using a different truck rental company in the future.Roy T.

The customer service that we received was below standard. We had a reservation at noon and waited over an hour to pick up and upon returning the truck we had to wait again to drop off the truck despite standing in line with several others who were waiting to pick up the same truck we were returning. Very poor service in the store. Waited over an hour to be served. Not the fault of the employees. 2 people is not enough at the counter. Hire more people. Your no contact system is horrible. Sending a link to self load photos is inefficient. Cell reception is poor in your building and thus takes time. Many customers had reservations but when they came to pick up you had no equipment. The personnel working at the Ogeechee U-Haul location were working as best as they can with what they had. It seems that U-Haul loves to say they have stuff without actually having it. Customer service leaves something to be desired. The staff was too busy gossiping to even be bothered to look me in the eye. A 10 minute process turned into 30 minutes because the two staff members could not stop talking to each other. The man helping us told us to wait for him to come back with a lock. I returned my truck on June 8th. I was charged $1000 3 weeks later. I then received a phone call accusing me of not ever returning the truck. I went in to the store and they would not deal with this problem until I threatened to call the police. Finally, a regional manager named Micheal was there and he figured it out for me by finding the video of me returning the truck. I dont believe that the rest of the staff at that UHaul would have every helped me if it wasnt for Micheal. They were talking to me like it was my fault. I dont think I will ever use UHaul again. It was impossible to close out my units using the online system. I got auto responses that it was being handled but yet nothing happened. I often could not get through to the local office and corporate office didn't have control over what needed to be done. I was billed late fees both times and it took me several hours to handle closing my accounts. Regarding the staff: Da'rian (he works with the trucks) and his trainee, helped us from the moment we walked in, and they were courteous and very willing to work us. They were way more helpful than the clerks whose job is was to handle storage facilities. The two clerks, a young lady and man, were slow and disconnected from us. At one point, I had no idea the young man was speaking to me because he and the young lady were laughing and joking like there was some kind of inside joke we weren't privy to. It was uncomfortable for me as a patron. Finally, he asked me directly to give him a code. I had no idea he wanted this from me because he was just saying "four digit number" without directly addressing me. The two clerks weren't outright rude, but their demeanor and the looks they gave each other made it seem like we were the focus of a joke. Again, it was really uncomfortable for my husband and me and not how customers should be made to feel after spending nearly $200 in their facility. Additionally, when they learned that I had rented a 5x5x7 locker, they immediately tried to upsell me on a larger locker, which is fine, I wanted the next size up, but there were none available. And the only storage locker, besides the one we were renting, was way too big for what we needed. When we asked to see our locker, we're were told again it was small, like a linen closet or a pantry. Again, I realize upselling is a part of the sales process, but they had nothing else to offer me that was suitable for my needs. I asked if there was a waiting list for the larger size, and instead of speaking to me, she told Da'rian, "I don't think they do that." Now, after all the upselling the young lady was trying to do, she wouldn't ask if there was a waiting list for a larger locker. Again, she didn't directly engage me-the customer-and at that point we had been there about 45 minutes, so I didn't have anymore time to waste hunting down that answer. Also, we had purchased 10 boxes, but no one came out to the floor to assist us. My husband had to cut the plastic straps himself, and we literally could've taken as many boxes as we wanted since nobody was paying attention to us or assisting us with this part of our purchase. We just took our 10 boxes and left-we addressed them by thanking them and saying goodbye, but we didn't receive any salutation from the staff.Matthew T. | First Impressions

The employees want to do a good job. But, I rented a space that I never was able to use because their was another vehicle parked in that space. I always had to park in a space other than the one I rented. The code to raise the gate seldom worked. Infact most of the time the gate was just left open during business hours because it didn't work. When I went inside to get help there was always a long wait to get any help so I usually just gave up and left. You have a nice facility. You have good employees that want to do a good job. Fix what's broken, the gate and staff your facility so that customer will spend money instead of walking out.William B. | Overall Experience
