For starters, you could make sure your employees show up to work when they are scheduled. We waited outside of your location for almost 50 minutes before someone showed up, and the only reason they was because we called corporate and were connected to the MN scheduling office. When the scheduler was trying to track down an employee, they were unable to even contact the general manager. Come to find out, according to the employee that eventually came to work, the general manager was unable to be tracked down because her son took her phone and drained the battery. This employee told us that she was only able to give us 20% off for our inconvenience and told us that the general manager would contact us the next day to continue to resolve the situation. Not only did no one show up to work, it took about an hour and a half to get the truck and trailer ready. The truck also had the wrong equipment in it , which took time to get sorted out. We never heard from the general manager until we tracked her down 3 days later. She told us that she would contact us, again, the following day but she never did. Again, we had to call her 4 days later. We were unbelievably disappointed by the customer service and we will never use Uhaul again and will discourage friends and family from using this company as well.Graeme C.

Uhaul completely failed to meet their obligation as per their contract, which promised my U-Box would be shipped with arrival to my location on 6 July. Not only was my U-Box not shipped, they shipped an empty, unlocked container. So far, all I've been able to ascertain since then is my box MAY still be in Rochester, however, no one has been able to articulate when or even if my U-Box will be shipped.Shannon H.

The facility looks very nice and the features are good. The staff member that helped me was less than helpful. I asked him a few questions and he didn't provide very good answers or would say "I don't know". He then rented me a space that was occupied. So I asked him about it and he switched me to a different spot. That spot too was full. I again asked him and he said "I wasn't sure which of the two were open" so I was moved again and was able to get into a spot.Mike S. | First Impressions

U-haul left one of my boxes in Minnesota. There is a little more to the story, but the long and short of it is that they failed to send one of my pods to Texas. The difference in price was around $500 difference to send 5 pods vs 4 pods to Texas. I don't know why Uhaul did not send my 5th pod, but they charged my credit card $1877 to send it to Texas. When I complained, they felt it was fair to refund me $846. So it cost me $500 too much to send a pod that they left in Minnesota. I won't be using UHaul ever again.Thor H.

High turnover in staff which unfortunately leads to errors and issues. I had one staff member didn't know how to refund my CC for unused boxes. Another staff member at same location missed my reservation for a truck, then I had another on site staff reserve for me and they STILL messed up. The employee overslept so the store was not open. We had to drive to another uhaul store and they made the reservation for us. Got our rv parking spot but someone had left their camper in it. So we have to return tomorrow after they tow it out hopefully. Very stressed since we have to leave town(husband is an otr truck driver) and we have nowhere else to store our pickup. Who ever was supposed to open the store didn't show up until a good 30 minutes after the time it was supposed to open. Then when we took the uhaul back, same issue. The person who was supposed to open didn't show up on time. Then, there was no apology for showing up late and making everyone, not only us, wait. Terrible!!! There was only one employee working when I went to drop off the rentals. He said that he would check the unit in without me present and send me an emailed receipt. I then received a receipt in which I was charged extra money for gas. I made absolutely sure the gas tank was exactly where it was when I picked up the unit. I'm very disappointed in the extra charges and will think twice before using uhaul in the future.Meagan T.

Manage your reservations/stock better. We made reservations over a month in advance, and we were called to cancel our reservation because our original date was misread. It took over an hour on the phone to let them keep our reservation even though we were one of the oldest reservations. Then when we finally got to pick it up, it didn't even have all of the furniture equipment we requested in the first place. Needs better management overallSagan M.

I rented a truck Tuesday night to Friday night. I returned the truck Wednesday night. The guy came out looked everything over it was all good to go. I asked him if I would get a email for my grand total. He said yes. I called twice and they said it will take 24hrs before I get an email. U Haul somehow managed to take the stress surrounding moving and magnify it to an impossible scale. I arrived at the location at 0945 having checked in the day prior. I was told the truck and U box would be waiting for me and was disappointed when it took over 30 minutes to retrieve. When the employee handed me the keys, it was only an afterthought that compelled me to try to open it before driving away. Thank goodness for that, because I was given a padlocked ubox. It took another 30 minutes to change out boxes. When I returned with my filled and locked box, a different employee found that the vehicle and ubox that I was assigned to in their system were both different from the ones I actually received and used. The employee then told me he was going to leave my ubox outside that evening because there wasn't a good place for it in the storage unit. When I told him I was uncomfortable with that plan given the wind and thunderstorm advisories, he said the vinyl covering should be sufficient but he'd bring it inside for me anyway (THANKFULLY)! I've received no text confirmation that my ubox was received nor do I have any idea if someone down the line will even know which ubox is mine. This was NOT a confidence inspiring day at uhaul.Helene W.

Pretty Clean facility...winter being what it is...the sprinkler system froze and broke on 1st floor during move in... the staff handled it swiftly but it was a bit unnerving not knowing if there was a fire or other issue going on. Otherwise Staff was good about explaining products and contract to me and tried to help me figure out what happened with app reservation that did not appear on record a bit of snafu with technology aspects, not a staff issue just website on device issue. Also gentleman was knowledgeable on hitch Installations so I could feel confident in requesting an one installed at another time. from the first day I did not receive a swipe card and never was able to when I went in each time as I just being told I didn't need one though I couldn't get in after 8 without one. beginning the first month my billing was messed up because the card I used for eft was never used so I keot being billed and given late fees. you corrected the errors of late free but continued month after month and then when I canceled my account, twice btw, you did bill my card..attempted with another late fee. the storage was clean and would have been more accessible with a swipe car but the continued stupidity of every month having to call and remit further payments after being transferred to second parties and waiting 20 minutes or more..exhausting and inconvenient. you wore me out.JENNIFER B. | Overall Experience

Overall very clean but there was a fair amount of dust and dirt on the floor on one (out of 2) of my units. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars instead of 4.5. Other than that, it's been great. This was our first experience with renting storage, I paid 100 a month for 11 months.. Several months into our rental we went there to obtain our winter coats. MICE had gotten into everything! When we rented the unit the staff failed to put some rodent poison in our unit. I talked the guy into putting it in the unit when we discovered the mice. When we returned for rest of our items it was HORRIBLE. A live mouse was in our unit. They ate 6 winter jackets, ate into our leather couch and chair. Beautiful towels and home decor ruined. An area rug was filled with a nest and wet urine. Numerous notes are left in our account and staff aware but NO call yet from the general manager after 5 days of waiting, I certainly pray they plan to compensate for all of these damages. I have many pics as well as some of their staff took pics too. Devastating and very stressful. People were nice, but most of the time there is only one person working, so it's hard to get someone to help you if there is another customer. It would be nice to see more help. I had found rice and pieces of fluff from something all over boxes and furniture I had in the unit when I started moving things back out of the unit. I then realized mice had been in there after I moved a basket of clothes to the house I moved into and found mouse droppings and a nest hidden on the middle of the clothes, as well as napkins, a bag of rice, and furniture chewed on to make a nest. Mouse droppings were also on multiple other items. I ignored it at the moment because I was just trying to get the move done but I really hope this issue gets fixed for the next person who uses these storage units..Stephanie D. | Overall Experience

When speaking with someone about processing my move-out request that was placed 12 days prior, the representative I spoke with was very brash. During the call it dropped due to poor cellular connection, and when I called her back, she yelled at me for "hanging up on her" and told me not to do that again. There was a lot of confusion as the RV covering units were not numbered. It would be such an easy fix. Also the unit I had signed up for had another vehicle in it. So, I was given another one after the staff figured out which number that one was. I really appreciate the staff at both uhaul places here in Rochester Minnesota. The staff was very helpful in explaining what I would need and helping me get the uhaul and storage that I needed. The customer service is off the charts they really have the friendliest most welcoming staff and I loved that about my visit. No inconvenience. No disrespect. No waiting.
