When dropping off your trailer, you need to ask for a paper receipt or you will be charged a $20 after hours arrival fee online. Then you will need to go through the phone tree a couple of times awaiting your turn in line in hopes of speaking to an actual person and hoping to receive a refund after somehow proving that you were indeed dropping the equipment off during regular working hours. That's how you get us.....

The Hubble location in Des Moines is amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better location to pick up my truck from. Manager there is wonderful and made sure I had the truck I was needing and all the extra equipment as well. I would come back to this location for my next move. but as for the south side location on se 14th the manager can shove a 10' dildo right up her ass. very rude and unprofessional. Left a lobby full of customers waiting for one single employee to do everything which I felt bad for. The employee was very overwhelmed with everything and the manager walks out to go take a truck over to get gas which I feel the other guy who's cleaning and maintaining the trucks could have easily did that job. And if there is so many issues with people stealing gas since the manager felt the need to announce that to the whole lobby full of customers how about putting cages over the area for the gas cap and put a key on the keychain for the ones who check out the truck so they can fuel them up when they need gas instead of allowing people to steal the gas or Better yet add more fucking cameras to that location seems to be that location should be shut down or something needs to change

Staff was rude and insisted we couldn't leave vehicle at this location. When our originating sight resolved our issue, staff continued to be rude and had very poor if no customer service skills. Uhaul needs to train this sight's staff.

We got stuck in traffic driving from Milwaukee to Des Moines and we told the office we would be a little late returning the rental, and they said if we had it back my 5 (we were due by 4) it would be fine. It was returned by 4:35, and we got charged $87 for another full day for being a half hour late. Plus we were given the rental with half full gas tank and told we could return it half full, but we were still charged more for gas! Not at all happy with the return.

Very piss poor attitude from manager. Canceled my reservation without notifying me. -10 out of 10 would never recommend this location. I will specifically go out of my way to tell people not to use this location. Very dissatisfied.

The Hubbell Ave., location was open and accommodating. I took the keys in and gave them to the associate; the associate went and checked out the truck; the associate gave me my receipt, and I was on my way. I was there 10 minutes at the most. Thank you Hubbell Ave location.

They called to switch me to 4 different location each was further away from the previous. The original location was way closer since I was only moving within the neighborhood which would have made my mileage use no more than 10 miles since I reserved a 26 ft truck. I get a call In the week to let me know the location didn't have a truck so they sent me over to a location 4 miles away and I only agreed cause I asked for a discounted rate for the mileage which she agreed. Then Friday around 9pm, I get a call from a rep from that location telling me the truck had been stolen so they wanted me to pick up a 17 ft truck on the other side of town 15 miles away, he would give me a $50, I agreed. Then on Saturday when I was suppose to go pick up the truck I get another phone call at 8am telling me they had a 26 ft truck at another location which was 14 miles away. Long story short, I didn't get my $50 credit, got charged the rental fee plus $69 cause I didn't online check in the truck, which I was never told to do.

The GM called to explain that I couldn't leave the truck, whereupon I explained the situation. The GM said he would call me back, seemed understanding. Never heard from him again and got an email with a receipt that did not clear for a balance of over $500. This is not something I will be paying.

The truck and trailer were both in excellent condition, easy to operate and comfortable. We had to move our furniture to one of your storage units after arriving at our destination and found them to be very satisfactory. We would definitely recommend U-Haul above all others..

Make sure the tires actually have tread on them. The tires we were sent on were extremely unsafe. The gas tank was only 1/4 full but they marked it was 3/4 full so we had to make up that difference before we returned the truck.

Great staff! Friendly and helpful. As with many places right now, could use more staff so don't be in hurry, you may need to wait. Regardless of the wait, the staff was amazing and when it was your turn, they gave you all the attention needed. The facility was super easy to get in and out of. We even found a lovely plant shelf in the share area. I highly recommend this U-Haul center for all of your moving needs.

If I could give my experience negative 5 stars I would!!!! I went ahead and (tried ) to take advantage of the free storage unit your app enticed me in doing when I rented the truck and I ended up having to get the truck g or another day because it said incould doneverything online and be to check in at the unit by 10pm Got there at 730pm. Couldnt use the app. Rang the buzzer the man who ansswered told me to call the 800 number at uhaul.com. was yikd it would.be 30 to 45 min. Wait on hold. Waited gor an hour finally hung up. Went duting office hours the next day, the agent checked us in ( took over an hour) even tho I had spent about that much time trying to navigate the u your web site to complete the rental only to find out that the while unit thing was a total waste of over 2 hours.of my life that could of been put to use doing something great! Instead I was left with extra milage (20 or more at 89 cents a mile, an extra days truck rental as I could get into my init to empty the truck so I could return it! And A LOT OF STRESS! the unit still set empty as I had to return the truck by noon today and was unable to access my unit and the agent that was there was unwilling to answer the nick at the door or the buzzer on the wall. I have a video of him sitting at the desk staring at is knocking on the door 5 min. After GE said we were all set. We were not all set because we went to the door put in our access code ( he said he was out of access cards) and it said our unit was disarmed but the slifing doors would not open to let us in.! IT WILL BE A VERY DESPERATE SITUATION BEFORE I WOULD USE UHAUL FOR ANY REASON. FOR A LONG TIME! P.S DONT HAVE THE RESERVATION NUMBER but the storage units location is 2526 Hubble Ave. And I have video of everything I am telling you (tie.. him sitting at the desk and ignoring our numerous call for help

The process was just strange. I had to explain exactly what I needed several times, even though it was all on my reservation. Then he forgot my furniture pads and I didn't realize it until I got home. The hookup was easy, but the process should have been easier.

I reserved a 20' truck but due to me running late even though there were 3 20' trucks I was given 15' so it took 3 loads way more miles time gas ...so you guys screwed me for 260 bucks when if given the truck I reserved online...well it all would have been way different. So I guess the next move I'm going to have to look into Penske...which is a shame I always had good experiences three usual. But this one really screwed me over...

I tried to call to extend my rental time by an hour, nobody would pick up the phone and I was directed to the website. I was unable to locate where on the website to extend the rental, so when I brought the truck back on the same day, but a little later than originally anticipated, I was charged double for the truck as well as the insurance. Overall, super displeased with this experience.

Good experience, especially with the free month storage when renting truck. Really appreciate that. However, bathroom was dirty, used paper towels on floor, no trash bins in bathroom or indoor offloading area. Could have used one or two more carts. No big deals, just had to wait for others to finish before we had a cart. Thanks very much!

Everything was fine until I moved out of my unit. I made a payment and it took 2 days for the lock to get taken off of my unit and then the day my payment was due for my next payment there was a lock back on my unit and then I was given until the time the office closed to move out of my unit that I again had to wait for someone to come take the lock off again when I was in my unit just previously that same day. And nobody even called to clarify what was really going on. I called and got sent to customer service which was no help either.

Uhaul was open in a Sunday, I live on the south side and nothing was open so I drove all the way to Hubbell. The staff was amazing, helpful and explained everything to me! If I ever need another storage unit I will go back to Uhaul on Hubbell!!

Notify the customer when renting a 10ft Uhaul and dolly, that the truck do not have a walk ramp. Otherwise it serves purpose to pay for the dolly of it is no use when moving.

Over all things are good. How ever there needs to be more help on staff. Having customers wait 20 to 30 plus minutes in line is not good. The location I went to,had only 2 men doing everything . They where working very hard, but they definitely need extra help to make things go smoothly for them and the customers. Once I was attended to, the service was great and they where friendly. Please get them some more help.

When trying to use 1-800-GO-UHAUL trying to ask questions I kept getting disconnected but they are a reservation. It took 5 times to keep someone on the line. Next time I will just go to facility to ask questions and make reservation.

I wanted to rent a truck but they couldn’t rent me one from the east side Des Moines ia location I had to get it from urbandale ia location which put me over my 72 miles so I had to pay for more miles which was not happy with so that would give you a lower score

Very nice and the storage was free with my truck rental from a few weeks ago. It was a blessing for sure. It is a lot of walking to my storage but I liked the fact that it's air conditioned. They have carts you can use overall it was a great experience. ¡Gracias!

Our move in was very smooth. The facility manager was friendly and very helpful throughout the entire process. It was easy to locate our space and the facility carts made the move in go very quickly. The facility is clean and well lighted.

The space is great and security is great. Largest complaint is it was under staffed both times and staff seemed as if they didn't care if they got to you in a timely manner. I had to wait in line for an hour (2nd in line) while other staff members were outside and walking around. Facility is great however do t expect to get in an out in a timely manner and a lot of DYI to help move things faster.

On second trip over I saw cockroaches running around, and on my final pick up I saw mouse droppings all over the place. I sprayed cockroach killer each visit and did see mouse traps the last time in the units that the doors were opened, but I will never leave my stuff here again for fear of what I will bring back to my house. I had my stuff here for 4 months and after 2 months the rate went up by $40 a month (about 50%) and no one ever told me that was going to happen, and since I have auto pay, it blindsided me, I was told that was the new rate. Overall a bad experience for me

My experience was not necessarily a positive one, but I feel the staff and the manager made every effort to assist me. It feels as though they may be very short-staffed, which is stressful for both staff and customers. I had an exceedingly long wait on multiple occasions prior to my move-in, and noticed that some people walked out, unable to make their purchases. To their credit, the staff remain friendly, professional and helpful so I feel they are doing the best they can under difficult circumstances. I had to pay additional charges from the trucking company that moved me due to the long wait to get checked in. There is some type of construction taking place at this time in the storage area, so I found there is dust in the air. Someone was smoking in the storage area and I am hoping that it is not something that continues as I do not want our belongings to smell like cigarette smoke. The manager/staff assisted me with issues that occurred and I am appreciative of their efforts and satisfied at this time.
